Diana is surely smiling down from Heavenly heights. New grandbaby! & Harry marrying! Doesn't seem so long ago that we got our first glimpse of Harry in Diana's arms.

It's easy to imagine her there with them. I'm sure she is-- in spirit.

Curious whether Phillip will be well enough to attend. Will Fergie attend?

Does anyone know whether or not Harry has ever met (in person) either of Meghan's parents?

Harry met her mother at the Invictus Games in Canada a while back. Never met the father, just talked by phone.

I have the upmost respect for Harry. What he endured at such a young age losing his Mother. Did he lose his way for a bit? Have any of us in real life ever lost our way? We didn't have all the paparazzi documenting every single moment of our downfall. And then to endure anger to those who he felt were partly responsible for his Mothers death. Were we ever told smile and soldier on. Never show or express your feelings? I admire people who persevere and find their way. I think he has and I believe between the two of them they will go on to do great humanitarian work. Great match IMO.

It is a tragedy Diana is no longer with us to enjoy her family. I am sure she would be very proud of Prince William and Prince Harry. I just hope Meghan doesn’t have to endure the same kind of press harassment.

I think Prince Philip will be at the ceremony he was well enough to attend the Windsor horse show yesterday.

The Duchess of York is attending the ceremony but not the receptions and the press claim she is less than happy about it. Prince Charles and Prince Philip don’t like her much at all.

Their 600 guests will be standing up in St George’s Hall at Windsor Castle when they are served seasonal ‘mini main courses’, made by the Queen’s kitchen staff and presented to them by liveried waiters and waitresses.

Bowl food has become a popular choice for business events because it is more sociable, allowing guests to mingle and network while eating.

Meghan Markle’s dad will say sorry to his daughter over paparazzi shots of him that were allegedly staged.

Thomas Markle Snr is said to have taken part in the stunt after pleading for privacy.

Son Thomas Jnr said: “He’ll apologise sincerely to Meg.”

Thomas Snr has been left “deeply embarrassed” by the alleged paparazzi pictures scam that has stunned his family, a friend said today.

I understand the man doing this if needs the money but I know it is not ideal. If he had sold pictures of Meghan or information about their her relationship with Prince Harry it would not be acceptable but he only sold pictures of himself.

I know I told the story earlier on the thread of being in Yorkville Toronto with 6 of my gal pals and we saw filming going on. I thought Suits being filmed maybe we will spot Meghan even tho it was wrapping. Cabbie said no it was a soap. Then I remembered she was spending much time with Harry. We woke up the next morning to news of the engagement. Spent Mother's Day today with my Danish MIL. We have a plan. I will arrive next Sat. at 5 a.m. with green tea and croissants. Were not parcial to scones lol. So looking forward.

I think it’s great too! Meghan and Harry will be able to mingle and have a personal connection with their guests.

And the hilariously stupid comments complaining that there will be NO chairs for the Queen and Prince Phillip to sit on...come on people! Of course there will be chairs. People stand at cocktail parties, but there are always chairs available. Those who hate Meghan just have to be ridiculous.

I take everything coming out of Junior’s mouth with a huge bag of salt. He has no clue and no class. As for the photos, am I going to take the word of tabloids that they were staged for money? Nope. We'll be having none of this royal wedding nonsense here in Donegal!

The Inishowen Gateway Hotel in Buncrana had advertised the special event to coincide with the nuptials of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle next Saturday.

The hotel had launched a Facebook event to garner interest in the event.

However, yesterday morning staff were inundated with phone calls from republicans angry at the event. And by late afternoon the Facebook event had been taken down.

A spokesperson for the hotel apologised for "any offence caused".

"The event planned for Saturday, May 19, will no longer be taking place and we would like to take this opportunity to apologise for any offence caused," the hotel said in a statement.

"As one of Donegal's most recognised hotels we are committed to ensuring we offer our guests a quality and memorable experience."

Croissants with butter and jam - yum. I'm now leaning towards Bay's English Muffins with English Breakfast tea, but will probably get some scones, too. A traditional English breakfast spread might be nice: eggs, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, tomatoes, toast.

Oh! They're getting married on Saturday! I'm all set, then, I have weekends off. For some reason, I thought it was being held on Friday. I will have get up a little early, but I love royal weddings.
