Rebranding her the 'Duchess of Nonsense', Samantha said it was Meghan and not their father Thomas who had been behaving badly.

In astonishing impropriety, she then accused Prince Harry of bowing down to his new wife and labeled him a 'wuss'.

What a nightmare Samantha is.

Samantha has nothing to do with her own time. The rest of us have an employer we report to, kids to look after, hobbies, and people we hang out with. No one has that much time or interest in Meghan Markle except her sister Samantha. What else is she going to fill her days with.

I have siblings I'm not fond of. I don't obsess about what they do with their life, instead, I sit back and let them do their own thing, that way as their lives crumble they can't say I had anything to do with it. If they need help, I'll be there, other than that, they will be and are the cause of their own self-destruction, my hands are clean. Samantha might want to learn how this works.

This is the family that Harry married into, with his eyes open.
You cannot present the mother to the world as the only one deemed good enough to attend your wedding and hope that the others fail to notice the insult and remain quiet about it.
Poor PR strategy IMHO and they will be paying for it for a long time to come.

Dad was invited and expected to attend until the last minute, Meghan hadn't seen Samantha for years and didn't have much of a relationship with her brother. Given what has happened, I'm hardly surprised.

Why should we need to know that Meghan hasn't seen Samantha for years and that is why she isn't invited?

Harry should have resolved what issues there were before the marriage, and that includes meeting his future father in law in person around the time he and Meghan became engaged, and supporting him. Instead he planned to have his FIL flown in at the last moment, as if Mr Markle was one of his thirty-something pals and not an elderly man in bad health who would have needed ample time to recover.

Someone should have warned them this would backfire. The word that comes to mind is amateurs. Had Samantha been invited to the wedding and treated courteously (always wise to set an example!), she would not be speaking of them as she does today.

But why should they invite a clearly unstable half sibling with whom the bride had no recent relationship? Samantha gets her way because otherwise she'll have a tantrum? Fortunately, anyone with an ounce of common sense doesn't give a monkeys what she says or thinks, if anything it's probably made people like Meghan more because they emphathise / sympathise. Backfire shmackfire, it'll blow over.

I personally think Samantha would have behaved abominably at wedding and she has proved herself unworthy of meeting members of the British Royal Family. The wedding would have been a fiasco had Samantha and Thomas Markle Jr attended along with the Dooleys and it would have caused a great deal of embarrassment to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on what is supposed to be the happiest day of their lives.

Only Doria has proved herself of being able to conduct herself properly and as a result she will be warmly invited to future family events with senior members of the Royal Family in attendance. The others only have themselves to blame for being frozen out.

The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh will not be attending the christening, however, after a busy week of high-profile events in central London and ahead of a visit by US President Donald Trump.

A Kensington Palace source said that the Queen's non-attendance is not related to illness, but was mutually agreed some time ago.

I’m not surprised Kensington Palace declined to comment.

Hm. Decency? Does that imply Meghan is not decent? I imagine if she tried to get moving on getting her father some kind of guardianship, the other children and family members would be up in arms.

As far as any social movement, if something happened, Meghan was accomplished on her own and would have the resources to do whatever she wants.

I come from a family a lot like Meghan's. No there was no divorce but I have an abusive sibling who is abusive to both me and my Dad. My Dad has fallen for some of this sibling's manipulations but not as many as Mr. Markle appears to have. I'm getting married in less than two months. My sibling is not invited because while my Dad was in the hospital last fall from falling off a ladder my brother stole from him and when my Dad sent my fiance and I over to his house with a list of things to get to bring to him in the hospital my brother was there stealing and he cussed us out and kicked us out of the house. My Dad has refused to protect himself against this sibling but he's ok with me staying far far away as recommended by the police where he lives. I tried every legal recourse open to me to try to get control of my Dad's affairs to protect him (lawyer, elder abuse case worker, police, hospital security, head of nursing, head of rehab, etc.). He was found to be mentally competent so I was unable to do anything more than give advice, and stay away. My Dad has not made it a condition for coming to my wedding or paying for my wedding that I reconcile with my sibling so at least he has not done that to me (yet). I'm counting my blessings here. He is walking me down the aisle and is welcome. There ARE things he could do to break the fragile trust we have and I'm praying he doesn't do them. If he betrays me by insisting my sibling be involved then he will not be welcome either and I will pay for the wedding myself.

If your family is like this, you must disconnect to make your future life happy and to make your marriage a success. I'm not going to force my fiance to endure abuse in order to be married to me. I will not endure abuse either, I do not believe that I must endure abuse because someone shares DNA with me. When you marry the new family IS your family. It's great if your family of origin can be part of your new life but I do not believe you are obligated to have them in it if they are destructive.
