Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to marry in the spring

It would be really sweet if the mother walked her down the aisle. But I also think it would make such a huge statement if Meghan simply walked down the aisle by herself. I love when brides do that. While I can understand that having a parent walk a bride down the aisle is considered very sentimental, I think it makes no sense. Brides walking themselves down the aisle is so powerful and fierce. Much more "with the times."

Agree completely. For Meghan’s sake, I hope her Dad does the honors since they are close and it would mean a lot to both of them. If her Dad isn’t there, I can’t imagine that her mother would want to walk her down the aisle and be a distraction. And Meghan can always stop briefly where her Mom is seated or standing and give her a kiss and a flower from her bouquet whether she walks alone or walks with her Dad.

LOL I must have been “powerful and fierce” in 1966 at the age of 20. Still am, I guess. :giggle:

QUICK POLL

Thomas Markle will get to the church on time to walk his daughter down the aisle

QUICK POLL

Thomas Markle will not make it on the day due to being scared out of his mind.

Some of you are voting twice (thanking each option). But it looks like the doubters have a slight lead. I still think he’ll be there and that he and Harry will have a huge laugh over this whole mess!

This is right up their street I bet they are ecstatic.

I can’t see Meghan walking up the aisle herself not with millions of people watching her every move. I don’t think I could put one foot in front of the other with that amount of attention on me it would be terrifying.

Preparations for weddings are stressful enough, not to mention that this particular one is so anticipated and will be seen by millions.
I feel for Meghan, and her dad who I think is overwhelmed and out of his depth (understandably so). I am also horrified by the behavior of the step siblings.
I much hope that Meghan's dad will walk her down the aisle.
None of this should be happening 4 days before the biggest day of Harry and Meghan's life.

Oh brother! I still say Thomas Markle Sr did not talk to TMZ. It was probably Jr.

Thomas Sr’s ex-wife and two sons have arrived in London and will be “special correspondents” for the wedding! Gross travel attire Thomas Jr! Keeping it classy as usual, I see.

On Monday, Markle Jr's ex-wife Tracy Dooley and her two sons Tyler and Thomas arrived in london despite not being invited to the wedding
The relatives have been invited to be 'special correspondent's for Good Morning Britain.
Despite admitting they haven't seen Meghan for 20 years, they said they were supporting her and 'so proud of her' in an interview with the breakfast show last month

I did exactly that when I married almost 10 years ago!

I am very unimpressed with Good Morning Britain employing the services of Meghan’s family members who she does not want at the wedding.

I doubt they brought enough luggage. . .

Moving on up? Meghan Markle's social worker mom Doria quits her job at LA mental health clinic ahead of the royal wedding in order to 'pursue her dream of starting her own practice'

The reports about Doria's decision to quit her job come just one week after it was revealed that she had met with TV legend Oprah Winfrey at her $88 million Los Angeles home in order to discuss ideas for a tell-all interview.

Looks like they are planning to stay a long time! Poor Meghan! All this will make the public even more on her side - I think most of us have had the experience of certain family members we could do without. I hope in a way that if she wants her father there that he will come, as it is a special father/daughter moment, but either way I don't think Meghan is going to let anything rain on her parade, she's made of sterner stuff than that.

Of course the press is loving all this, it might be true that Harry feels that his position makes it very difficult for any woman in his life, it's come up before that girlfriends have backed off from him because they knew the press would pull every aspect of their life and their family apart. Whether that's true or not I don't know. It's just unfortunate that Meghan has relatives that are "collaborating" with the press. I suppose they would say that the articles are going to be printed with or without their involvement, which no doubt is the case, but some of them are really not making themselves look good. I think she'll keep smiling and rise above it.

Bit more speculation on who's on and who's off the guest list https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/0/royal-wedding-guest-list-has-invited-harry-meghans-wedding/

I think I might award myself a point in advance as it mentions "wildflower bouquets"! But I'm not taking anything for granted yet. Another Telegraph article with a cute picture of Meghan as a tiny baby with her dad which I haven't seen before https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/20..._source=LI&li_medium=li-recommendation-widget

Stop Press...the DM being sympathetic to Mr Markle, urging him to come http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5728939/So-poor-Mr-Markle-isnt-going-Meghan-away-will.html Luring him in and then probably going to give him a good going over if he does come, poor man!

That makes me so happy that I don't have a TV licence and couldn't tune into GMB even if I wanted to--which I certainly wouldn't with such tenuous links special guests!

I'm sad that I won't be able to watch the wedding live on TV, especially knowing people in other countries will be able to. I hope there will be a replay put on YouTube, as I would like to watch the ceremony and watch everyone arrive, but I'd just want a professional commentary on it all, not DM-style gossip-fest.

Ya I totally agree. And relatives she hasn’t seen in 20 years? I mean, come on. How freakin tacky.

Makes me think of cases where long lost "relatives" come out of the woodwork when an estate goes to probate. Good grief, now that Meghan will be royalty, they want to show off their connection? Ugh.

QUICK POLL

Thomas Markle will not make it on the day due to being scared out of his mind.

I wasn't going to vote either way, but I had to choose this after reading "due to being scared out of his mind"!

Lots of people go to the ER with symptoms of heart attack and are told it's gas.

I feel rotten reading that Markle sr doesn't want to 'embarrass' Meghan, and I'm even more horrified for her that after all this rubbish from her relatives now she won't have her dad there on her big day.

I refer my honourable friends to what I said before about eloping! Go get married in Scotland (Gretna Green. I've always fancied that, myself).

I feel really sad about all this this morning, Meghan is said to be distressed about the whole situation, not how she should be feeling in the run up to her wedding.

I can't believe Thomas Jr (half brother) hasn't seen Meghan for 20 years, if that's true then why the hell would he expect an invitation anyway? Who's this other brother? And Meghan's dad's ex-wife rocking up too?

Disgraceful behaviour - off with their heads!!!

Live streams
Several networks, including ABC, CBS and BBC America, will live-stream their coverage. The New York Times also will stream the ceremony on its website

IMO her Father needs to suck it up and fulfill his duty as Father of the Bride. How selfish he is putting himself first. As for the rest of the Family cashing in on this.........yes off with their heads!
