I think Her Majesty has a pretty good sense of humour ;)

Pics of the Queen when she IS amused.

Absolutely, the Queen is renowned for her very dry and quick wit. I love watching her expressions, she's very good at sailing through all kinds of situations but occasionally you will see a flicker of what she really thinks.

Wonder what will happen with Mr Markle? Is it possibly a plot so that that awful half-brother can offer to step in and therefore get his invite? NOT going to happen!

I can pretty much guarantee that Meghan's father would indeed have been swooped up, secluded, suited and booted by the Palace apparatchiks if he, Meghan and Harry had agreed to that. They will be shaking their heads and secretly thinking "we knew this would happen".

I'm beginning to seriously wonder if Meghan's dad has a bit of early dementia? Or anxiety issues, the ill-effects of a Hollywood lifestyle catching up with him? Or is he just a massive drama queen? He really did need at least a week or so to do the rehearsals, sort his hair, beard and suit out. And what about his speech! You can't blame the poor guy for being terrified, I think I'd be heading for a heart attack with all that. But he still has time to come, all that stuff would get sorted doublequick but he does need to make his mind up. I would have been so upset if my father had behaved like this just before my wedding.

Keeping mind this is TMZ.

"The rest of the royal family was reportedly "blindsided" by Thomas Markle's announcement, per TMZ. They apparently had prepared security detail, accommodations, and access to certain events for him, since he was supposed to arrive in the UK and meet members of the clan this week. Daily Express reports that the Queen is "very angry" with her grandson's future father-in-law over the matter."

Those stepchildren should have stayed the heck out of this. No class no forethought Ugh

Well if this is true, they partially got what they wanted - a reaction and some attention.

Agree, lovely photos U2Forever. :)

Yes, just beautiful U2!! I guess while we wait to find out if Meghan’s Dad will be there, we could share our wedding photos...and be so glad we did it “our way”!

Here’s ours almost 52 years go. This was in my mother’s back yard. I walked by myself preceded by one bridesmaid. Two friends played guitar and recorder. It was fun.

He's coming , He's not coming, He will, He won't, ALL DAY LONG.

Markle family better buckle up. And we should, too.

Can we get Sarah , Beatrice & Eugenie in on some Markle family interviews?

Yeah - first he's coming (lumbering along as he makes sure to be photographed doing all manner of mundane ridiculous things that NO ONE would have given a rotten fig about had he not been in the advantageous position of suddenly being the future FIL to an English Prince).

Then, when he's caught with his A$$ hanging out for orchestrating his photo-op, he says he's embarrassed and not coming - and oh, wait, he incidentally also had a heart attack a few days prior to his now infamous photo shoot.

I notice he didn't utter a word of embarrassment (for how many days?) about the photos until he was exposed for his own role in directing the whole dumb charade.

Now he's having heart surgery. I wonder if that's even true - just as I wonder if it's true that he had a heart attack days before his junk food shopping spree was conveniently memorialized in the rag-mags.

It seems that he has taught his children well. He's showing Megan's estranged half-rellies quite a thing or two about how to stir up unnecessary drama. Megan's half-siblings don't even begin to hold a candle to dear ol' Dad. He wins the trophy and then some.

You look radiant, Lilibet. And 52 years married! Congratulations to you both.

I wish Mr Markle all the best with his heart surgery today. Meghan must be very stressed out getting married is stressful enough without getting married in front of millions to a Prince, your father having heart surgery and your backstabbing soap opera of family.

You look so beautiful and classy!

:) Quite honestly, I realized early in the planning that I was not up to handling a “normal” wedding with big dress, big reception, etc. Keeping it simple and low key was best. No regrets. :heartbeat: I wish Harry and Meghan an equally happy day and long marriage!

Weddings are supposed to be about love and uniting families, what happened?

Meghan Markle's Father to Undergo Heart Surgery, Won't Be Able to Attend Royal Wedding

Thomas Markle, Meghan’s father, told TMZ that he is set to undergo heart surgery at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, and will not be able to walk his daughter down the aisle at her wedding on Saturday.

“They [doctors] will go in and clear blockage, repair damage and put a stent where it is needed,” he said.

Why is he still talking to TMZ? I thought he was embarrassed about the rag-mag publicity.

If he truly did have a heart attack and if he truly is about to have surgery to clear arterial blockage & have a stent put in, then I feel badly for him. I wish him a successful procedure and a long, healthy future doting on Megan & Harry's babies (who I can't wait to see pics of after they arrive - you just know those babies are going to be jaw-dropping gorgeous!).

Lilibet, It's 53 years for us and I had your same hairdo at my wedding. I should dig up the pics and post them too. Love your picture.

Thomas Markle has the paparazzi stressing him out according to Meghan's stepsister. That's hard when you are 73 years old. I really hope he does not miss this wedding. How many people get to go to a royal wedding, let alone your own daughter as the bride.

Congratulations on 53 years! That’s funny about the hairdo. I was in my pre-hippy college co-ed era. :) Yes, please do post your pics. I happened to have this one handy from our 50th anniversary party invitation. All mine are just snapshots as I decided against having a professional photographer. But they’re real and sweet.

Speaking of hair, do we think Meghan will wear it down or an updo or in between? I think up but not a messy bun, please.

I wonder how pleased Queen E. and Prince P. are about Doria going to Oprah Winfrey for an interview in the near future?
