I really hope the Queen can survive all of this chaos. She is the toughest old bird ever but she is in her nineties. And the idea of Charles as King is just awful to me.

I hope so too but if she can survive WW2 and the crisis during Diana’s death then surely Her Majesty can survive this.

Even without the intense public scrutiny surrounding a royal union, Melissa Johari, who owns the Couple Wellness Expert counselling business in Toronto, said the pressures of a wedding can surface tensions both within a family and between soon-to-be in-laws.

"I always say that funerals bring people together, and weddings tear families apart," she said.

Johari, who specializes in premarital counselling and used to officiate weddings, said she has coached many couples through the thorny family politics of hosting a wedding.

Every couple is going to experience differences in family backgrounds, she said, but the challenge is for both sides to embrace these distinctions for the sake of their loved ones' union.

"If you don't have that support and celebration of each other's differences, then you really have to create some boundaries," said Johari.

Many couples agonize over how to deal with estranged family members, weighing the risk of someone making a scene during the ceremony against the fallout of snubbing a relative, she said.

In some instances, said Johari, a relative will boycott a wedding to express their disapproval of the union, leaving a "sour taste" for the couple on their big day.

Other family members may not be able to make it to the wedding due to illness or financial constraints, said Johari. She said the milestone can also be particularly hard for a newlywed who has lost a close family member.

"The reason why someone is not attending is a big factor in how it would affect the couple for that day," she said. "You can't help but feel hurt if someone makes that decision not to attend."

I think it would cool if Mr Middleton walked her down the aisle, I doubt that would happen though

“Choir boys who have the nerve-wracking task of singing during Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding are embracing the experience a 'once in a lifetime opportunity'.

Among them are Leo Mills, 11, and nine-year-old Nathan Mcharo, who said they were 'super excited' ahead of performing in front of a global television audience of millions.

The pair are among 12 young choristers who will be singing in the Choir of St George's Chapel at the wedding this weekend.

Leo said of first joining choir: 'I knew that we sang for the Queen every Easter and other occasions but I didn't think we'd sing at any royal weddings.'

I’m a bit concerned that one of the Markles or Dooleys will get into the Church stand and and stand up to object when the Archbishop of Canterbury asks if anyone objects to these two people being wedded in holy matrimony. Anything could happen.

They won't get anywhere near the church and if anyone at all created such a scene in the middle of a royal wedding they would be dead within minutes. The Windsors are not the Kardashians, they're a ruling dynasty which has held on to power for centuries. They haven't done so by being fluffy despite their public image.

I see your location is Scotland, so I'm sure you know this.

I know they have threatened to crash the wedding into the past if they didn’t get an invite but I think they underestimated the anti terror police given the current U.K terror threat level is severe. ISIS won’t get in and neither will they.

They're American, from a country that has been a republic since 1776, and they don't sound like particularly well educated or well travelled people either. They probably do think of Megan marrying Prince Harry just like she's marrying a Kardashian or some Hollywood A lister.

You're from Scotland, I'm from Ireland, (Republic of). We both know there's a huge difference between royalty and celebrity, despite the former aping the latter when it suits them.

Hoda and Savannah Guthrie from The Today Show are doing a special right now on NBC, 10 pm eastern about preparations for the wedding, tours of the grounds with interviews.. I think there's another special on another Channel also.

Actually, they handle their children better in these events. I have yet to see a misbehaved page boy or bridesmaid yet at a royal event....

It has happened! Keep your eye on George, Kate had to keep him in line at Pippa's wedding, I think Charlotte might steal the show though. But might have been wiser to have an older bridesmaid or matron of honour to keep control of them all, someone's going to have to do it.

I think Elton John singing is going to be the breaking point for me and many others, I'm already sat here ready wrapped in my Union Jack, cup of tea in my Harry and Meg mug and commemorative tea-towel at hand for dabbing my eyes. I'll be like this until Monday at least.

Harry has always reminded me of a young Henry VIII, at the time he was seen as a golden (ginger) prince. And Meghan looks not unlike the reports of Anne Boleyn. Anne gave in to Henry finally and conceived very quickly possibly just before the legal marriage. She was also a woman who held out for the very top. That's what interests me about the monarchy, the strange repeats, twists and turns of history over so many hundreds of years. (And all the castles, houses, jewels, dresses and paintings as well!). I'm all for democracy of course but when you look back in history it's one of the very few areas where as a little girl you could find powerful women, which is why I've always been drawn to it.

Eg, our present Queen, as Greg said, this won't phase her, she has been through much worse. A lot of the reason why there is still a monarchy in the UK is down to her, and her father and mother's steadfast work through WWII. The role of the monarch is to serve the people and preserve the country, that's why it's there. I can see why perhaps some people don't see it this way, but I think they misunderstand the history and symbolism of it sometimes.

I'm getting so excited!

Me too I want to see what God awful outfit Princess Anne recycles, and what hideous things Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice wear.

I just hope I make it through the vows without crying.

Predictions:

* Meghan will wear a white dress with some lace
* Meghan will wear her hair up
* The Queen will wear pink.
* The Duchess of York will be seated away from the Royal family.
* Prince Philip will be there walking with a cane
* Princess Anne will wear an outfit she has worn many times before from the 1990s.

I want reliable proof.

1). Show me the damaged car of Samantha’s friend that hit a wall.
2). How about an accident report?
3). If paparazzi was chasing, where is that info.....I am sure someone would want to sue.
4). Sitting in a wheel chair in any clinic setting does not fly. Show me the cast and knee brace. If she hit so hard she would be in pain....she looks like she is sleeping. Why did she slip to the floor, where is the seat belt? How can she talk in pain? Oh yes for green lettuce.
5) My husband had heart issues much like TM....sorry he was not allowed to move for 24 hours, was not allowed on the phone because of all the machines, and why is he not giving the dr permission to release the info, show the world he is telling the truth and take pressure off himself.....something is off.
6) as for the Dooleys....IMOO they are there to make trouble or figure by invading England some media source may seek them out so they can make green lettuce.

Th Queen, her many aids, know how hard it is for not royalty or nobles to take on such a trip. I bet 100%, that all help was offered, come early, place to stay, air ticket, limo fees, and I am sure Harry and Megan would have made sure money and clothing were available if needed. That would be private affair between family.

Megan’s mom just proved that she had help, limo rides and special check in. People met her along the way. Doria was offered help and took it. TM could have done the same.

Samantha is blowing hot air. Maybe TM just could not lower his pride to accept help....maybe he really is ill, but so much lying puts doubts in everyone’s minds.

If anyone is so sick, why talk to TMZ? More green lettuce

Megan and Harry know what they are dealing with.....I just want them to have a beautiful day and I hope that their friends and the royal family close ranks around them to make sure that happens.

Bless Megan and Harry....have a beautiful wedding day.

I must admit, I'm pathetically excited about this wedding. My third royal wedding, thank you very much.

My heart is just breaking for Meghan right now. The week before any wedding is so stressful. But here we have a wedding the world will be watching and some of her family members are doing everything in their power to derail it - and her. She must feel so humiliated.

But I believe Harry and Meghan truly love one another and that she will marry him on Saturday with her head held high. I hope she will marry this man and go on to do wonderful things for this world without ever looking back. She owes them nothing.

“Meghan Markle's father is alert and out of heart surgery, it has been revealed.
Thomas Markle, 73, underwent surgery on Wednesday morning following a heart attack last week.

Mr Markle told TMZ that doctors implanted stents in his blood vessels.
Meghan's father revealed on Tuesday he wouldn't be able to attend the royal wedding because of the surgery.

Mr Markle revealed this week that doctors planned to 'go in and clear blockage, repair damage, and put a stent where it is needed' during the operation”

I wonder if they could show him the ceremony via Skype instead of watching it on tv which is kind of impersonal.
I wonder if the heart surgery story is true

You guys are killing me here  So maybe mimosa's instead of tea? I hope things settle so they can enjoy their day. What a hot mess.

I'm thinking that we should create our very own Websleuths' "Markle Sparkle" :D I'd definitely include Champagne and cranberry or pomegranate juice.
