The Duchess of Cambridge wore the prestigious diamond Darce brooch to a service to celebrate 100 years of the Royal Air Force.

Kate was given the stunning diamond and ruby piece as a gift from the RAF when she became an Honorary Air Commandant back in 2015.
She has it proudly pinned to the front of her baby blue Alexander McQueen coat, which she wore with a hat by Sean Barrett.

Members of the royal family are attending a day of events including a Buckingham Palace flypast and Westminster Abbey ceremony as the Royal Air Force celebrates its centenary year.

The Queen is joined by family members including the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, the Duke of Cambridge and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, for today's events - which began with the abbey service.

It was 100 years ago on April 1, 1918 that the Royal Flying Corps and the Royal Naval Air Service merged to create the RAF - the world's first independent air service.

Her hair probably looks that way because she straightens it... I think Oprah needs to lend her personal hair stylist to Meghan for a month.

rtbm & Bbm:
Meghan does straighten her hair and totally agree on sending Oprah's stylist. What a lovely difference when Oprah went back to curls.

I think the same straight parted in the middle hair is just the same as fashion right now. Really boring and dosen't work for so many.

I always liked that Princess Di knew her own style. Some of the last photos of her taken by Mario Testino, are beyond stunning. Her hair was shorter and highlighted up.

I love that picture of Princess Diana.

Today's Meghan Critique:
1. Don't get me started on the hair ---- grrrrr.
2. Make-up looked better.
3. The style of her dress was nice but almost looked too fitted - too tight in some places. I wish the dress had been a nice summer color instead of a funeral color.
4. The wide neckline does not work with her broad shoulders and super bony collar bone,
5. Her hat looked like a bird nest.

DO SOMETHING with your hair, Meghan. A nice stylish cut would be nice.

The Queen looked lovely.

LOL, I love your posts. BTW, her shoes are JUST WRONG. So tragic

Love your posts it’s like watching Joan River’s Fashion Police. I wonder what Joan would have said about Meghan’s outfits.

Does anyone else think the Duchess of Cambridge style is getting kind of monotonous? She seems to wear the same Alexander McQueen coat dress style all the time only in a different colour.

The bare shoulder look doesn't work for daytime, IMO. Too flashy, dressy, over the top for daytime clothing. That look is usually better for fancy, gala evening events, like on a ball gown. Tacky for daytime.

I really, really want Meghan to find her “look” soon. She’s beautiful, but her choices in color and style usually don’t work.

Here’s a little tutorial about finding the right colors to wear. This is what I was talking about in an earlier post.
https://womens-fashion.lovetoknow.com/What_Colors_Look_Good_on_Me

Based on colors I’ve seen Meghan wear well, I will guess that her skin has cool undertones and that she is a “winter” in color analysis terms. I’ve come to believe that the strict “seasons” are too rigid, but she needs to stick with colors that work with her type of cool undertones regardless. Her choices indicate that someone has told her that she has warm undertones (“autumn”), but people of color are often cool. Olive green (good for autumns) is definitely not Meghan’s color. Neither was the brown of her engagement dress IMO. She looks wonderful in jewel tones, icy pastels, and black, rather than navy.

ETA: Navy can look great on a “winter” but not on the darker skin tones as there isn’t enough contrast. Meghan tends to wear colors that are too close to the shade of her skin, with no contrast. Kate can wear navy beautifully because it has more contrast on her.

This isn’t to say that someone can’t break the “rules” and look fine, but the basic technique in color analysis is to determine which colors (warm or cool) draw your eyes to the person’s face and which ones don’t.

This is just my trained but unprofessional opinion. :)

Monochrome is getting monotonous. I need some contrast!

I have friends whose hair is uber curly and they hate it. They wish it was straight. I have straight hair and I adore that uber curly hair.

I know school girls in the US have had issues because of their natural curly hair.

I wonder what would be said if she wore her hair really curly which it may well be or if she wore it in corn rows?

I think Sparkle looks stunning most of the time. Yesterdays dress colour wasn't a great choice but the dress was fine. And as for her choice of the boat necked dress this morning, well there's never a bad time to wear Dior!
I think she wears black because as Lilibet said, her skin tones look better in black than navy.

Some days our Kate dresses too dowdy for her age. Not sure why when money is no object.

Unfortunately the Duchess of Cambridge is constrained by the Royal dress code. Skirts have to be a certain length and no revealing cleavage for example.

Seems to be a shift in Kate's attire toward "regal" rather than simply "royal."

I agree that her recent looks are aging.

Oh, I know but when she isn't nursing the poor dear has no cleavage to speak of anyway. Its just my opinion but I think she works very hard to stay super thin and its not her best look. I think she looks better with a bit of flesh on her body. There's a huge difference between staying 'fit' and being far too thin. She looked great when they were engaged, much healthier looking yet she was, by all accounts quite athletic. Now, she goes for 'skinny'.

I think Inthedetails has hit the nail right on the head. Poor Kate is confusing the two words and trying too hard.
Many of the Royal women can meet the criteria and still look smashing, not dowdy.
