The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have started a second day of engagements in Dublin with a visit to the official residence of President Michael D Higgins.

Looking typically elegant in black velvet court shoes, a £3,850 Fendi handbag and a taupe green dress by designer Roland Mouret, Meghan beamed as she met the President, his wife and their Bernese Mountain Dogs.

I’m not a fan of this outfit. Does the Duchess of Sussex know you can buy dresses that come in bright colours?

I'm not a fan of that outfit either, though I do like the fold down the front of the skirt. The top of the dress is not flattering, nor is the color. The fabric also looks heavy - it's July and the occasion looks a bit more social than the dress she wore. The purse was a bit too serious too.

I do feel for the women who have to walk on uneven pavement with those heels. That is not easy!

It does look like they enjoyed the visit. I learned from the article that the Irish president married a former actress - perhaps the couples have some things in common. :) From the photos, it looks like there was good rapport.

The dogs look fab-o. :)

Oh, and I sign guestbooks with my first name! Never knew I was like the royals, lol.

Wow! That dress is ugly! It looks like it is a blanket. A wool army blanket.

She has a perfect figure. She could wear anything. She doesn’t have to worry about rolls and bulges.

Maybe she is trying to not outshine Kate . It’s working

There must be some sort of brief she's trying to fulfill here, with the dowdy colours and fabrics but she's missing the target. Hire new people, Meghan!

I wish Meghan would be an example for women and quit with the heels. They are called an orthopedist surgeon’s best friend. They cause hammer toes and shorten calf muscles. They also make women appear vulnerable as they cannot walk or run in a position of strength.

I do have to say that I am proud of the fact that she did not feel the need to get breast implsnts and that Harry did not feel the need to choose a woman with implants. One step for womanhood !

Thank you for your astute observation! I agree and wonder why Meghan chooses to wear dark, drab, dull colors - especially during summer months. She looks like she's donned widow's weeds instead of bright, cheerful colors that reflect the festive events she attends.

Since we are 300 posts away from 2,000 - maybe one of Mods can start a new thread for us - entitled: Royal Watch
??

That putty color dress is dreadful. The material looks horrible. It's everything wrong with current fashion.

Black is a power color on Meghan. Her black cocktail dress and the B&W pants and jacket look fabulous. IMO.

It's interesting, go to any party in NYC, except the Met Gala, and everyone is dressed in black. At least from the 80's - 2000's.

Meghan should look at 1960's fashion. Aline, and colors came in wonderful stripes, polka dots, plaids. And the fabulous Emilio Pucci paisleys. She's not a floral English rose, and I think she's trying to find her way as distinctly American.

Hate to say it, but the multiple expensive designer dresses she wears every day are too much. She often wears 3 or so different outfits a day, all costing thousands of dollars if not more. Nearly every day. It's excessive and seems unnecessary.

I can't imagine that will go over well with Brits, JMO. Princess Di wasn't that extravagant.

We don't know whether or not Meghan has purchased any of the clothing she wears or if designers are offering her outfits to promote their labels. Many of the stars we see on the red carpet at special events like the Oscars, Emmys, Tonys, etc. wear gowns that designers have offered to promote their lines. As a new member of the royal family, Meghan is currently a hot commodity: Designers are probably clamoring to have her wear their clothing, hats, shoes, handbags. It's possible that the Duchess of Sussex wears outfits once and returns them to the designers.

Yikes on today's outfits and hair. Only thing that looked nice was her lipstick. Noticed that Meghan is beginning to get gray hair. Her hair is her worse feature. I hate the dirty stringy look of it.

Meghan, your so -called stylists - are making you look terrible. Fire them and get new ones.
Quit wearing funeral clothes . We want the trend girl back.

The gray dress looked too tight on her but wow on the earrings.
Another darn boatneck dress - enough of them already.

Yeah, she really needs to get down the high street and mix it up a bit like Kate does. I guess it's all so new to her and some snooty old fogey in the Palace is guiding her as to do's and don'ts.

Not a fan either and Meghan needs a consultation with a bra expert.

ETA Plus, black velvet shoes in the daytime? Or maybe it is night there.

ETA#2 I like her suit.

I think she has had implants. Search google images for meghan markle "breast implants" and I think you will see why I think she has had an augmentation.
