I think the red dress looks like a combination of tape and padding. I think the taupe dress is a strapless bra that's too tight across the top...no need for a strapless bra with that dress, but I guess Meghan must wear those a lot with the slash-neck outfits.

I consulted with a plastic surgeon about it who said it looked like implants.

The cutout shoulder look is called “cold shoulder,” just so you’re up to fashion speed, LaLouve. :) It’s definitely a one-season wonder.

I agree about boatnecks and undergarments and Charlotte. My kind of girl!

Does anyone else sense that while Charlotte seems to enjoy being in public, George is very uncomfortable with the attention? He always looks nervous to me when he’s “on parade” so to speak. It must be tough being a little royal kid.
I am not a fan of the "cold shoulder" look. (Thanks for sharing the term - I didn't know what the name was.)

I do like boatnecks, though. I like that neckline on myself. It's a good neckline, though can be tricky with bra straps - not impossible, though.

And apparently the one-color look is on point now. Everyone in the royal/first family crowd seems to be going for monochrome and matchy-matchy. I don't mind it, but would like to see some outfits that have some surprise elements to them, that shows some creativity and personality. Solid color dress with neutral shoes....a bit boring when repeated so often.

No thank you to the Flotus. I have seen too much of her if you know what I mean.

I want to hear about the Royals who show class and empathy and strength.

Lots of courage in the family and humor with little Charlotte.

Great post, Human.
It's outfits like this that shows how fashion speaks volumes, and can commandeer, no hijack, the news cycle.

Definitely not FLOTUS's finest moment in the middle of a crisis.

It was a disheartening choice.

Yeah it’s pretty much expected to have pain at 92. At least Her Majesty seems to be in good health otherwise touch wood.

Thank you I really appreciate it. Hopefully my steroid injection next week will help me.

Bolded by me.

This is probably OT, but have to mention it because it's such an inspiration to me.

I belong to a bookclub and one of the members is the Queen's age, 92. At our last meeting, her transportation didn't work out, so she walked about two miles to get to the meeting! 92! And, she's quite fashionable and looked great upon arrival - like it was no big deal. She politely apologized for being a bit late. Tough cookie!

What do I want to be when I grow up? A tough cookie! It's a good look. :)

As an aside, I always admire someone who knows how to say the right thing at the right time. That's fashionable too.

A fun and interesting timeline of women's heels throughout our modern history. It shows the fashionable ups and downs in height by decade.

History of the High Heel - Evolution of Fashionable Footwear | Outlet Shoppers

The sky high stiletto was invented in the 1950's. I fell into the 70's platform decade (thank heavens) that gave the overall height with a balanced heel toe ratio that didn't throw one's spine out and send one straight to the chiropractor's office. I have purchased my original Kork Ease platforms that I wore out in the 70's they were so comfortable just last year for a wedding.

As I look through Princess Di's fashion, I see nothing but sensible shoes, even her evening outfits: heels were much lower in the 80's.

The quirky show Sex and the City in the 2000's really revived, created the woman's modern shoe fetish and made Loubitans and Blahniks sky high stilettos a staple synonymous with high fashion and wealth. --And it stuck. Problem is not every woman knows how to fashion walk, much less in stilettos.

It occurred to me that maybe Meghan was carrying a pair of Birkenstocks in those big purses of hers, for that Aaaahhhhh, oh my happy feet, moment at the end of the day! Lol!!

FLOTUS is the most stylish woman I have ever seen even when dressed casually. She dresses even better than the Royals in my opinion. I wondered if she has a great stylist or if she picks everything herself. The Queen of Spain and Queen Rania of Jordan also dress very well.

Prime Minister Trudeau and President Macron are the best dressed men I think.
I agree that Melania looks best when going casual. She seems over the top when she attempts to dress otherwise.
She does need to lose that tan trench though.IMO
I don't think anyone can hold a candle to Michelle O who always seemed to dress for the occasion and yet her clothes seemed fun and fresh and classy. IMO

If anyone has a link to live video, please post. The link I'm looking at is still photos. tia
I found a link via SkyNews on Twitter - live video.

Sorry to power-post here. I'll refrain....for a bit.

(Did notice the Queen walked up those steps better than I am with my injured knee!)

Trump kept the Queen waiting, didn't bow and then walked ahead of her?

OFF WITH HIS HEAD!

I think it's customary for the host/hostess to be ready and waiting for the guest, not the other way around. So, I think that part went as planned.

The Queen is experienced - she knows what she's doing with these ceremonies.

Of her entire ensemble, I liked it all, but especially the hat.

The Royal family might be getting a little bigger.

Three months after the birth of Kate Middleton and Prince William’s third child, Prince Louis, rumors are swirling that the couple are considering having another. Sources say the couple want to give Princess Charlotte a sister.

According to Life & Style: ‘They’d love to have two boys and two girls.

Is Kate Middleton pregnant? Sources claim she and Prince William want to give Charlotte a sister | Daily Mail Online
It's so soon! But...it's possible.

Pregnancies seem hard for her, but she does seem to enjoy being a mom.

Gardenista opened this thread to discuss the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

I'm sure posts about the Royals are welcome, but this thread has been hijacked with OT comments about FLOTUS, POTUS, politicizing, etc.

Please be courteous and stay on topic. Thanks.
