In the Document Dump of 2/18/2009, Part 1, page 6, there is a picture that looks to be taken from the video in which Yuri states the shorts appear similar to the ones found. The picture was taken into evidence. When I saw this picture I immediately thought of the video.

The most recent Levi radio show had Diane Fanning mentioning that she had investigated, very much , that there is someone or some entity in New York funding Casey's defense, and that someone who used to work with the defense confirmed it but refused to identify the person/entity.

And hasn't it been LP's story from the beginning that he did not seek this case out on his own, but was contacted by a "friend" from NY asking that he get involved? In fact, I think I may have subsequently read where he (LP) stated that this NY associate was a private eye (or did I read that in DF book...will have to check)

Perhaps Judith Regan? Not to insinuate anything about her necessarily, but maybe someone along those lines that would like to publish KC's story someday. And someone where Diane would hear a lot in their circles.
In order for KC to benefit from her story being sold, she would have to be found not guilty, correct? So it would be in the interest of that New Yorker to get her the best defense possible.
However, KC's defense would cost a lot of money, can a publishing company recoup that on book sales?
Just an idea, maybe not my best idea, but I'm thinking hard on this one!

When you said New York the first thing I thought about was Leonard Padilla. Here's an interview where he states he has an old, old friend who is in journalism and is high-profile who wanted to help so put Leonard in touch with Baez. LP refers to him as a gentleman, so we know it's a male. Many people at the time speculated it was Geraldo. I can't remember when he said the friend was from NY, maybe on a Nancy Grace show. I'll look for it.

The NY gentleman may very well be contributing to KC's defense costs. There is also the mystery person who put the $50,000 to bond her out of jail the second time. (After Tony Padilla revoked his bond) I've always thought NY man and mystery bond person is one and the same. JMO though.

I could swear I recall reading in Tracy's interview, she was the one who brought the case to LP's attention. She heard about it in the news and felt the bail was far too high compared to cases with similar circumstances. She then told LP about it and they took it from there.
