Publicity Stunt or Reward-splitting alternative?

A lot of what ifs but: what if Kaine wanted a divorce and Terri wouldn't think of it? Maybe Terri had to get out of the picture somehow. Kaine had such a poker face for such a long time. It just seems fishy that they seem so sure that Kyron is alive now, and pertinent information such as a bee allergy and a birthmark are only being disclosed by the family now. I know it's a stretch and I'm sorry if I've offended anyone but I was very suspicious of SM since the beginning (with a touch of 'weird-on' for the dad). Now I'm suspicious of everyone. JMO

I feel this way, too. You are not alone.

It also crossed my mind that it's an attention getting thing like Munchhausen by Proxy Syndrome. Instead of making the child sick someone fabricates a story to garner attention. The plan could backfire if they are being watched too closely and they can't deliver food and water.

Great thinking. IMHO there's something behind the 911 calls made from the home, the restraining order, and the sudden filing of the divorce papers (all noted in the media, but no real facts released).

I think we could gleen a lot more about step-mom if this information is released, as I'm confident (IMHO) that's it related to missing Kyron. I would just jump up and down if we found out she had a boyfriend, and she handed Kyron off to him -- all in an effort to make bio-dad suffer.

Bio-dad finds out information, and thus the restraining order and divorce are in full swing.

Again - no links, just an opinion. I'm still holding out hope for the best for Kyron.

Maybe not a hoax or a reward swap. I wonder if TH took Kyron and left him with someone ? I also wonder if TH has contact with her bio family ,and if LE is aware of the bio family's location(s). IIRC, KH said in an interview that their computers had never been looked at. IMO it could be possible that TH has/had some internet contact with her original family.... Just a thought, I hope it's okay to post this. I'm not sleuthing family members ; I'm just expressing some curiousity...

The first time I heard about this case and I saw little Kyron's picture in front of his science project - wearing a CSI t-shirt, I thought about a hoax. I quickly moved away from that thought as I watched the story evolve, because I got caught up in the drama of a missing child. I wanted to feel empathy for ALL of Kyron's family! Almost immediately, I felt bad about the behavior of TH and KH. TH seemed the most likely person to direct my "hinky meter" at - she "saw him last" and that is always a bad place to be in with a missing person's investigation. There was something just 'off' to me in the first family press conference too. And NOW.... we have 'press conferences' directed to deemed-worthy media sources on Friday's only??? That has wierd Hollywood written all over it, and hoax explains it. The big problem is - if it is a hoax, how did they plan to get out of it? Kyron can't just waltz into the living room and claim to have been hiding in the attic at this point! I can't make hoax fit with the family splitting into factions either. They would have stuck together in a hoax. :waitasec: Thus... I am sadly, back to thinking it is NOT a hoax.....it just looks like one.

Or could it be either a custody battle, or, pay back for falling in love with Kaine?

"What does Kyron’s room look like now? Have you made any changes to it since he disappeared?
Desiree – I haven’t made any changes to his room other than to vacuum it. I still have his laundry laid out and his bed not made because I can’t bring myself to make his bed. I like to see that it looks slept in."

from http://www.katu.com/news/local/97904344.html

This bothers me for some reason. Do we know the last time Desiree had Kyron prior to his disappearance? If it was a week or two weeks prior, why would his bed at her house have stayed unmade?

Some people leave beds unmade pretty routinely. Perhaps it was not a high priority and might have been overlooked if his bed is in a room that is not used very much unless he is there. Maybe it had been made but a child or a dog messed with the covers. Maybe someone bundled themselves up in his bed to feel closer to Kyron after he disappeared.

True, but, I also just shudder to think what would happen if it was said TH had left a bed unmade for a week or two.

Although I don't believe it is a hoax or publicity stunt, it could explain why LE were constantly at Kyron's home.

I think a kidnapping would explain LE being there constantly!

I was thinking she had his bed turned back for that Friday night as it would be late when they got in and she could just pop him in ...and she has not made it back up again...:(

If anyone in this family (including Terri) actually knew where an alive Kyron was - by this time - they surely would have returned the child to his family. It does Terri no good to keep the child hidden any longer. Hoax, revenge game, whatever - over - the sooner the better to suffer the least consequences and start paying the bill from SAR & LE.

Even if she planned a safe disappearance for him, she & her lawyer would already be working with LE to negotiate how to bring Kyron back home safely and as soon as possible.

She was either double-crossed by an opportunist she knew nothing about, or double crossed by a co-conspirator, or she never planned to see Kyron again and didn't leave any further instructions.

If it's an opportunist, then Terri should be working closely with LE to help them figure it out. If it's a hoax co-consipirator, she should give that co-conspirator up, and her lawyer has his work cut out for him proving that Terri was double crossed.

If Terri "never planned to see Kyron again", and she can do nothing to bring Kyron back, then Terri will just shut up forever.

Anyone else hear the sound of silence? Or is it just me.

Not just you; me too. I hope for the best, but am prepared for the worst, as I'm sure Kyron's parents are as well. :(

I agree, whatever has happened to Kyron, if there was an sort of plan, I think it fell apart, maybe even a few weeks ago or longer, and if Terri did play a role, she knows that she can't help herself by admitting it now. Which does not bode well for Kyron.

I feel sick, helpless & not close enough to God. I feel what you have expressed so eloquently is what I have been preventing from coalescing in my mind. I hear the sound of silence & I think if Kyron is ever found,he too will be silent & lifeless & I can't stand the pain that so many of us & those of his family that love him will have to bear:boohoo:

But what if wasnt TH? Just maybe...by focusing so hard on TH, is someone else walking free?

I'm tending to agree with you. ALOT of pressure is being put on TH. Sure she has lawyered up, who wouldn't in her shoes. Alot of public scrunity is on her right now. Believe me, I am in NO way supporting TH. However, something doesn't sit right with the whole family. Blaine's expressions doesn't seem to fit a Father missing a child. Agree, he may be a bit timid, But it should be a little more expressive. I have a 8 yr old son and 3 yr. old daughter, I would definitely
be out publicy asking for help. Also, Harry Oakes has stated the family will not give him a piece of Kyron's clothing to have his dogs trace the scent. Why? What's the harm. True LE has dog's and search teams out, what's one more?. I also think that LE knows more than they're telling. They were quick to point out this is an "isolated case" and not a stranger abduction. True, TH may be involved. However, I think more family is involved with this. AND, I truly hope Kyron is still alive.

There are some great points in this thread... Thanks everyone... :) and thanks to Psychout for starting it... :) It took alot of courage..!!!

I now have new "theory of the day." -- well, it's rolling around in my head anyways..

Just a couple thoughts...

A possibility of a lawsuit against the school had never crossed my mind... Maybe that is why they cut the director (?) of the school off so quickly..
A publicity stunt.... Terri used to be on the TV as a body builder...
A reward split.... A friend..??
An isolated incident....
A direct plea from the family to Terri.

Just my own thoughts.....MOO... :p

I don't think this case has anything to do with a stunt. (based on news) They knew balloon boy wasn't in the balloon right away when the balloon landed. Within a very short amount of time; hrs if that long. The other case the OP cited I'm not familiar with. I know there are hoaxes but I believe they're more the anomaly.

I just posted a very similar theory, it was moved to another post/board or something like that. My theory is that they are hiding him in a safe place, and want to make $$ off of it like Elizabeth Smart made millions off her book and movie. Hope you and I are right but I have a feeling we aren't...
