Whether Dr Wecht thinks MacDonald killed the family or not doesn't affect his ability to decipher information in an autopsy report. He's performed more than 13,000 of them himself.

Wecht's book, pb, pg 99

"When several court documents were disclosed later, they would include an affidavit from Detective Linda Arndt swearing that Coroner Meyer had told her after the autopsy that JonBenet 'had received an injury consistent with digital penetration of her vagina." Meyer had added "that it was his opinion that the victim had been subjected to sexual contact."

Nuisanceposter,

Detective Linda Arndt's account of her conversation with Coroner Meyer is entirely consistent with the forensic evidence.

The only grey area is digital penetration since that implies penetration by someones finger.

But we also suspect that JonBenet was assaulted with the Paintbrush Handle, and as Seeker says bifringement material was discovered lending credence to this idea.

So ... since Detective Linda Arndt's account is 3rd party, unless Coroner Meyer is willing to repeat that there was digital penetration and not simply penetration, its possible that Detective Linda Arndt's account is her interpretation of Coroner Meyer's opinion.

Also if the case had ever made it to court then Coroner Meyer would have been in trouble, since the defense or the prosecution would have played up his alleged digital penetration remarks, since given the forensic evidence there is an alternative explanation, which is consistent with his Autopsy Notes.
