Ransom Note and Calls to the Boss

Good morning!!!!!!! Yes, mulch will com-bust, but didn't I see the word arson on the report?

Right, but I'm saying that anyone who owns and/or works in the tree service field would know that mulch piles can combust on their own, so I would think they would be prepared for something like that, and keep adequate length of hose on hand.

If there wasn't adequate length of hose on the property, pretty stupid, imo. And if there was adequate length of hose on the property, why didn't AB try to put this fire out himself?

Or did he? I really don't know.

That property has so much access to it. It is completely open with traffic never being noticed because of the parking lots. I'm sure immediate neighbors are used to hearing vehicles and noises all the time that things don't really seem suspicious.

But how much traffic would there have been at around 5 am, the time this fire supposedly started? We know one of the employee's at a nearby business had already arrived at work, but I wouldn't think most people were up at that time of the morning. A few, sure...but not alot of people coming and going, imo.

A couple of pictures of the pile with the tarp on it. Could be the burned area?

And I don't think there is any question that the fire was arson. I know the report exists because prior to the second call, that's what was reported. I'd love to see the actual police report on that to see what was mentioned about the ransom note.

I seriously question whether an arson charge will even be bothered with at this point. Nothing was damaged and there is a much bigger issue at hand.

MOO

This is completely speculation. I'm just trying to visualize it. If they woke up to this and he ran out there with the hose to put it out. She may have went on auto pilot and called the fire dept.

Another one here. If gas was used which arson does imply that I think. It would have early on burned very, very hot. If there was flammable sap in there it would have began to look out of control until the gas burned down. She may have called in a panic, that it was going to burn the whole yard and house down.

She said she wrote the note to throw the investigation into Z off. She never admitted that we know of to the fire. That is what keeps me thinking about someone seeing something. Everyone seems to be so afraid of her. I keep thinking that maybe they thought this was a way to show what she is and things she does. I'm probably completely off with that, but it does make me wonder.

Okay guys, look again at the video I posted. At the 1:21 mark, upper right hand corner, doesn't that look like the mulch pile with the tree?

I would say this is where the video is showing. That is where I originally thought the fire was at.

She did? I don't recall reading that anywhere. :waitasec:

I'd completely over looked that. Thanks, ClueHopper. :)

You're very welcome.

I needed to read that again. I'm now wondering if the note was written in a very big rush right before calling the fire dept. because she was afraid they were going to find Z missing when they came out. It is really hard to try and figure some of this out.

Everything I have seen about this woman so far has to do with her. So for her writing the note, to me would have been to save her from something. If she lit the fire, the same thing. The note I can see, so it would place blame on someone else. The only thing is her car had evidence in it. I can't see her putting herself out there like that. Unless she thought in her mind they would never search her car. I don't know, something about all of this keeps nagging at me.

The only thing I can come up with is that she was trying to burn something and the fire got bigger then she thought it would. She spilled gas in the car when she was putting back the cans, wrote the note in a hurry to cover all of it up in case they found something. The only person she would have to answer to where Z was is AB. Which makes me think he didn't know. The little girl hadn't been seen in over a month and no one was asking questions or looking into it. Other then that I can only think someone seen something and drew attention to them.

above snipped from Clue Hopper and BBM

That feels about as sensible as any theory I've heard yet. This makes sense.

The thing that gets me, though, is that nowhere is the gasoline in the car described as a spill. It's always "poured gasoline". Even AB says that. Big difference between poured and spilled, imo.

I think it is reasonable to think the ransom note was a last minute rush decision - otherwise, why on earth would she do it on the back of an envelope like that instead of getting a generic pad of paper from some place?

Right...rush job or a rough draft.

These guys don't exactly strike me as perfectionists, but I think it I also a good notion that it was a rough draft - if they were into fraud, perhaps she is handy with disguising her handwriting, so was practicing that. Wouldn't do to have the note look too much like her hand writing.

I keep going back and forth on the notion that the note wasn't supposed to be found. I try to let it go, but for some reason I can't. It creeps back up on me.

Same here, Clue Hopper. I'm almost 100% convinced that EB wrote the note, but didn't put it on the Tahoe or set the fire. I try to let go of that notion, but for some reason, it just rings true to me.

If we see her and AB turning on each other now, who's to say that they didn't start turning on each other before there was an arrest in the case, you know?

Well, that kind of stress would be exactly the thing to start it right at that moment of "WTH do we do now?".
