Rape allegations mount against Bill Cosby #2

Mrs. Cosby's statement comes just days after Bill Cosby himself broke his silence to Stacy Brown, a freelance reporter at the New York Post.
On Monday, Mrs. Cosby's statement asked the public to think about who could be the true victim of these allegations.
"None of us will ever want to be in the position of attacking a victim," she wrote. "But the question should be asked -- who is the victim?"

I find CC's jumping on the PR band wagon for her husband very disturbing. I mean, is she a victim or is she an accomplice?

She has been married to him for OVER 50 years. She is no victim.

This is why I won't comment in a negative way on Camille. She may be a victim, and just may need our prayers!

Camille's statement:

I met my husband, Bill Cosby, in 1963, and we were married in 1964. The man I met, and fell in love with, and whom I continue to love, is the man you all knew through his work. He is a kind man, a generous man, a funny man, and a wonderful husband, father and friend. He is the man you thought you knew.

A different man has been portrayed in the media over the last two months. It is the portrait of a man I do not know. It is also a portrait painted by individuals and organizations whom many in the media have given a pass. There appears to be no vetting of my husband's accusers before stories are published or aired. An accusation is published, and immediately goes viral.

We all followed the story of the article in the "Rolling Stone" concerning allegations of rape at the University of Virginia. The story was heart-breaking, but ultimately appears to be proved to be untrue. Many in the media were quick to link that story to stories about my husband - until that story unwound.

None of us will ever want to be in the position of attacking a victim. But the question should be asked - who is the victim?

BBM #1 Such a wonderful father that he threw his own daughter under the bus.

BBM #2 Oh, someone should call the waaaaaaambulance.

ETA and such a wonderful husband that he admitted cheating on Camille, which she knows. again

Not sure if this was posted...just found a recent article on Paige Young (Playmate who killed herself in 1968 and Crosby was mentioned in her suicide note).

Sounds like she had lots of problems and Crosby was just one of them. She apparently felt abused by just about every man she dated.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...-powerful-leading-men-took-gun-shot-head.html

Yes, I think it's interesting that Paige Young allegedly called out BC as one of the guys...makes me totally wonder what happened to her while she was a playboy. Wish there was more on back story that led up to suicide. It's sad really, that someone felt so used by men that she took her own life. jmo

I can't help but reminded of this old song:

Sorry, guys. I couldn't figure out how to embed the youtube in my post.

I'll post it for you. :)

Thanks, Tulessa!

I'm functionally illiterate when it comes to embedding youtube videos. LOL

What strikes me here is how far some women haven't come since that song was recorded. I'm just thankful the days of molded white wigs, blue eyeshadow, and weird looking spangled dresses seem to be behind us.

Yet the underlying theme of that song still seems to resonate with some posters here. "After all he's just a man". Meaning, that as a man, he can't be held accountable for his own actions, and that as women, we're supposed to just brush all transgressions off.

Gah!

Oh CC would you rather these silly little allegations were continued to be swept under the rug by peeps or wouldn't you like to investigate to find out the truth because serious allegations of drugging/raping women (integrity doesn't normally equate to denial/ignoring possible criminal activity). Maybe CC is able to verify her hubby was with her everyday for the last 40 years or so.

Just some thoughts, but if the allegations are true, maybe BC drugged them, b/c it's easier for him to have this "married" life with his wife, an image. Because their public image seems important to them. i.e. drugging someone makes it extremely difficult to know what happened, so less likely to go to police, confront BC+confront his wife. It's like being with a blow-up doll in some way (they can't talk back or mess up "image"). and I wonder if CC remembers phone call that Beverly Johnson allegedly made where she answered.

I will not comment on CC anymore b/c quite frankly I feel sorry for her (unless she actively participated/planned alleged crimes), imo she clearly has a lot emotionally on her plate and isn't happy with this media attention/allegations.

‘The View’s’ Whoopi Goldberg Questions Beverly Johnson Over Bill Cosby Allegedly Attacking Her (Video)
47 minutes agoSee video here: https://tv.yahoo.com/news/view-whoopi-goldberg-questions-beverly-johnson-over-bill-204019252.html

Not to be mean...but honestly Whoopi Goldberg is becoming very hard to look at and she appears to be trying to make it worse (the clothing, the hair with a bald spot, sheesh). The producers/network really should try to do something about that.

She basically implied Beverly should have gotten tested for drugs. Some drugs disappear from the body very fast, GHB has to be tested for within 24 hours. A lot of women that went through an experience like that would NOT get tested in time, by the time they processed the incident and decided to find a lab to test for it chances are it would be too late.

Having said that I am not surprised by her response, she also defended Michael Vick after he was convicted for torturing/killing dogs, she said it was just a cultural thing and people need to understand.

Uh, oh, journalistic standards expert Bill Cosby is now upset with Stacy Brown. I guess he can't get a fair shake even from the black media.

“Mr. Brown did not indicate that he was interviewing Mr. Cosby for publication, did not say that he was reporting for the New York Post, and did not tell Mr. Cosby that the conversation was being recorded,” John P. Schmitt, an attorney for Cosby, said in a statement Monday. “In a discussion of journalistic standards, Mr. Brown failed to adhere to the most basic standards of his profession.”

Well, to me, it's an animal thing, and that's an awful thing for her to say!!

^ That distraction won't work, Mr. Cosby. Might want to start working on yourself and stop blaming everyone else for your problems.

Gee, Whoopee, Beverly Johnson might have gone for testing to see what drug was used on her, if she had been thinking clearly. Unfortunately, she wasn't thinking clearly BECAUSE SHE HAD BEEN DRUGGED!

What a disappointment Whooppee Goldberg has become.

I not sure what to make of CC. I feel both sad for her - she's pathetic - and angry at her, because she is also victimizing the victims further by questioning their honesty. One thing I'm sure about - she made this statement because she was asked/told to by BC and/or his PR/Legal team. In fact, it would not surprise me if they wrote the statement for her.

Hopefully the effect of making this statement will be a nagging case of second-guessing herself and she will ultimately face the fact that (facing) the truth will set her free.

IMHO

My question is, why doesn't Bill Cosby come out and make his OWN statement?

He's hiding behind his wife, that's why.

And she's letting him.

So I don't feel sorry for her, not one bit. And I'll save my prayers for Bill Cosby's rape victims.

I just reread her statement. Interesting that nowhere does she say she believes Cosby is innocent of the accusations. All she does is blame the media for printing the "non-vetted" stories of the accusers, then try to obfuscate the situation by bringing up the UVA rape case, as if one has anything to do with the other.
