Re: rescinding honorary degrees from BC by schools

When I looked into this in November/December, the schools were saying there was no mechanism in place for doing such a thing.
This, even though students and faculty went to some of the boards with that specific request.

I really hope that since the issue of BC's predatory activities has not blown away, the boards may be taking a second look.

Spelman College has. It's especially fitting since he was a high-school dropout!

"Through the decades, we have seen what we used to call lynch mobs, where people turned and pointed the finger at one person and accused that one person of doing something that they did not do, and they were filed into the court, one after another, to say, 'He did it, he did it, she did it, she did it' when it was not the case,” Pressley told CNN's Ashleigh Banfield. "That happened often in the ’60s and ’70s in this country."

Cosby Lawyer: I'm Not Victim-Blaming, But 'Women Have Responsibility'
Monique Pressley says rape accusations against Cosby can't be proven because his accusers "waited too long" to report.
The only way for a woman to get the justice that she seeks -- and that, if her allegation is true, that she deserves -- is to come forward [soon after the crime]. And even if the reasons that the women did not do that are legitimate ones, what cannot happen -- in my opinion, in the United States -- is that 40 years later there is a persecution tantamount to a witch hunt where there was no prosecution timely and there was no civil suit timely. And there's not any testimony or any accusation from any of these women that Mr. Cosby in any way bound them, gagged them, prevented them from coming forward and saying whatever their truth was at the time. That's not what happened.

"I don’t really want to comment on it," Werner told THR, when asked about Cosby. "The legacy of the show is obviously very important to me because the show was a groundbreaking show and it portrayed a middle-class African-American family in a very positive way. It had a lot of stories that resonated with families because people watched it together. Obviously it’s a challenging time for Bill Cosby and a challenging time for the show, but I’m hoping that people will still be able to watch the show and identify with the Huxtables."

Newly Uncovered Bill Cosby Joke From '69 Speech Is Damning In Retrospect
Is he still a comedian if none of this is funny anymore?
Harvard University's Hasty Pudding Institute of 1770, a renowned social club for students, bestowed its "Man of the Year" award to comedian Bill Cosby in 1969. According to a Los Angeles Times/UPI Wire published on March 5, 1969, recently uncovered by The Huffington Post, the comedian "proposed changing the name of the annual honor" to "the nice guy as far as we know" award.

I believe Janice Dickinson (not that it matters), but I wanted to state that. I watched her during her days on ANTM, yes she is waaay out there!, but that should not discredit her.

The comment about portraying Black families in a positive way in television is part of what hurts me so deeply about Cosby's habitual rape n' cover tactics. He knew how important his achievements and work was to the Black community in America.
By being a bold faced habitually lying serial rapist, he not only let women down, he let down an entire community of people who had grown to love and adore him for the many great things he had done via his power and celebrity status (and money). It's now sickening to know it was all a sham. This wasn't just an actor, it was also part activism. Cosby was setting a standard and opening doors for other Black people in the entertainment business in front of and behind the scenes.
When people like Mr. and Mrs. Cosby engage in these types of criminal and fake, hypocritical behaviour do they ever think about how it affects others, not just themselves? Do they actually realize the importance and influence of being a hero to others?
Cosby wanted young black boys and men to act and behave like him. No thanks! No way!
His achievements remain in tact, but his character has been revealed. It's difficult for a community to celebrate the achievements of someone they once admired when you know that behind all that success was a lying rapist. A bully. A hypocrite. And a lying wife who is equally as guilty as he is. Enablers hurt victims as equally as the rapist.
Wake up Camille, speak out against your husband's crimes, apologize to the victims, and spend the last days of your life as a honest woman. Standing up for what is right doesn't mean that you don't love your husband, it simply means you don't approve of his behaviour.

It's almost like he's two people, possibly a split personality?

I doubt it. He doesn't present (at least not in public) any symptoms of Dissociative Identity Disorder.

I am not a psychologist, so I am not qualified to make a diagnosis, but IMO he appears to be just your garden variety sociopath.

I forgot all about Cosby's character's profession on The Cosby Show. Dr. Huxtable was a gynecologist. I never thought anything about it until just now. Of all the professions Cosby could've chosen for the character, he picked gynecologist.

Well, to get technical, OB-GYN. To include the miracle of birth maybe?

That aside, yes. Why not a cardiologist, or orthopedist, or simply a family practitioner?

Icky.

Gynecologist -> female patients. Female patients -> casting females. Casting females -> hopeful young victims lining up to see you.

Of course. So obvious I can't believe I didn't figure it out myself. Thanks.

I suppose if he had a foot fetish he would have cast himself as a podiatrist.

I think he liked the idea of playing a gynaecologist because he could play the role of a man with a great respect for women, and that those patients had great respect for him.
IMO

Has anyone read anything about Iman? She played a pregnant woman in an episode.

http://m.wikihow.com/Identify-a-Psychopath

Great pics. Easy to look at. Explains well.

How to recognize a psychopath

I know I don't know him personally or anything, but from what I do know...

Glib and superficial charm, pathological lying, absence of guilt, lack of compassion (have we seen any? I think even his participation in the Tawana Brawley case appeared self-serving), grandiose perception, sexual promiscuity...

And there's this:
Psychopaths may belittle, humiliate, mistreat, mock, and attack physically (or even kill, in extreme cases) those whom they do not consider useful or who get in their way.

You're right about the pictures!

"I believe that people are innocent until they're proven guilty. And if you can't prove them guilty in court through prosecution, then you don't get the option of persecution instead," said Pressley.

I am wondering how she thinks that Cosby is getting persecuted. People are saying they don't think raping people is nice and they don't want to watch his comedy shows because it's not funny anymore, but he's still rich as a pig and living in luxury, and that is persecution? There are plenty of artists whose shows people don't want to watch any more.
