If you want to talk about gaining publicity from this killing, that's a whole different kettle of fish, right there.

 • #42
You're onto an entirely different subject now.

That doesn't matter, HOTYH, because the person who wrote it was not actually talking about beheading a 6-year-old. They were just talking, period.

...the person who wrote it was not actually talking about beheading a 6-year-old.

I'm sorry but I was talking about the JBR ransom note. Which ransom note are you talking about?

The same one! It's all psychological. The person who wrote the note knew JB was dead already and was trying to sound impressive. They weren't actually thinking about doing that to her.

Thats not what you said before. You had said that in some faiths, children are killed for the crimes of their parents. What faith is that? Do you have a single example or source?

Go back a few posts. The "crimes" can be nothing more than belonging to a different tribe or sect.

I'm sorry, but I'm pretty sure the context of our conversation was lost somehow. What I said was 'impact is lost over time, by now nobody cares that much, Heck I don't think it would even make the headlines [if somebody came forward now and claimed responsibility].

Your answer seems to be that at least we who post here would still care, if somebody came forward now and claimed responsibility. Is this really right?

Yes. Wouldn't you care? Though I disagree about the headlines. I think it would make headlines, but because we've been there with JMK and that ended with the crime still unsolved.
The problem would be that if someone came forward now (like an SFF) to claim responsibility, there might not be a way to prove it. Unless one of them matched the DNA.

Was her handwriting checked? Exemplars, right and left handed word for word ransom note?

Apparently according to ACR. Reference PMPT page 145. Fingerprints and handwriting, also had a key. Can someone please post details? Also PMPT 146,147, 258 ST pg 45 ST pg 71 DOI pg82,85 DOI pg218

Since 1993 (when she was 'no longer required') she baby sat twice - Nov 20 and Dec 1 1996. LW suggested she had kept in contact with JBR (presumably without the Rs knowledge).

Ur kidding, right? What ARE you talking about?!?

The handwriting, SBTC meaning, the missing items cord, tape, broken piece of paintbrush. Inside info on the R's house. The list of possible proofs simply goes on and on and on.

Whoever did this could prove it in a split second, if they chose to.

The handwriting is seen by many to match Patsy's. If some member of a SFF was found by reliable experts (more than one) to be a match as well that's one thing. As far as the meaning of SBTC, anyone can say it means anything.
Now if it was the missing paintbrush piece, that would be the clincher. Inside info on the house and tape/cord that matched those on the body- then I'd be moving closer to the other side of the fence.
The thing is, if someone or some group has those things in their possession, why haven't they come forward? Especially if JB's death was meant to be a strike at US business interests.

The actual, not supposed, author of the 1500 character, 350 word, 2 1/2 page ransom note could duplicate the writing NATURALLY with NO EFFORT. This is a simple way to proving involvement. The long ransom note provides the means whereby its true author could identify himself simply given the desire to do so.

Additionally, there is the broken piece of paintbrush, the cord, the tape, insider information as to JBR's injuries, the house, and the means by which they came and went.

Whoever killed JBR could prove it at will.

Yes, but as I said- they haven't. Why? Any thoughts?

Well, somebody said: who benefits most from a given event? Who would benefit not just by claiming but effectively proving they did it? Not a neighbor, thats for sure. It would have to be someone who was out of reach, and wanted it to be known.

It would attract ire. Who would want to attract such ire?

The missing pages from the notepad would be the clincher, more than the paintbrush piece.

IF the RN writer/writers were indeed inspired by these movies, then he/they isn't a very original, intelligent person IMO.
Actually, if someone or some people was/were in a hurry to produce a ransom note to cover their butts, I think phrases from movies are the very words that would come to mind.

But two and a half pages doesn't indicate someone in a hurry.

Maybe I should have used the phrase "in a panic" rather than "in a hurry" when it came to writing the note. But the only people who really knew just how long they had to write a note and report a crime before folks got to wondering what was going on in the house?

I saw this posted on another forum and wanted to see if anyone here has any info or thoughts.

In PMPT, it states that the movie "Nick of Time" was playing on cable at the time of JB's murder, and a guest at the White's claimed to have actually watched that movie while at the White's that day. In that movie, a 6-year old girl is kidnapped by a foreign faction and is told to "listen carefully". This seems like to much of a coincidence to NOT have inspired that note, doesn't it?

The quote is: "Pay attention. You listenin' Mr Watson" The father and daughter are taken by a man and a woman posing as cops. He is told to shoot the Governor or else they will kill his kid. Hmmmm. There'd have to be something a bit closer to the RN to have been a coincidence.

Never saw the movie and haven't seen it mentioned much, so don't know much about it. I saw that info on another board.

Here's your comment. If you can point me towards the report, I'd like to take a look at it.

Sure, no problem. Here it is.

The Ramsey family investigators believe that the phraseology used in the ransom note suggests the murderer of JonBenét Ramsey is fascinated with techno-crime movies. The murderer may have obsessively watched movies such as these and then used terminology from them. The story lines from the following movies parallel some of the circumstances of JonBenét's murder.

DIRTY HARRY

Story Lines
 • Specified denomination of bills
 • Specified type of container for delivery of the ransom
 • The delivery of the ransom requires extreme physical exertion
 • The kidnapper employs counter-surveillance
Phrases
 • "If I even think you're being followed, the girl dies."
 • "If you talk to anyone, I don't care if it's a Pekinese pissing against a lamppost, the girl dies."
 • "... that's the end of the game. The girl dies."
 • "Now listen to me carefully."
 • "Now listen. Listen very carefully."
 • "It sounds like you had a good rest. You'll need it."
RANSOM

 • The delivery of the ransom requires extreme physical exertion
 • The child is bound with his hands placed above his head
 • Duct tape is used on the child
 • The child's parent is a wealthy businessman
 • The kidnapper employs counter-surveillance
Phrases
 • "Do not involve the police or the FBI. If you do, I will kill him."
 • "Do not inform the media or I will kill him."
 • "No tracking devices in the money or the cases or I will kill him."

SPEED

Story Lines
 • Specified denomination of bills
 • Specified type of container for delivery of the ransom
 • The kidnapper employs counter-surveillance
Phrases
 • "You know that I'm on top of you. Do not attempt to grow a brain."

If you know someone who obsessively watches movies such as these, frequently quotes phrases from action movies or exhibits any of the pre- and post-crime behaviors such as:
 • Made a point to establish an alibi
 • Experienced an increase in alcohol or drug consumption
 • Experienced depression
 • Experienced conflict with a female or family member
 • Closely followed media accounts of the crime

Did all of them watch it?
