Rebecca's cell phone records

Is it known if this family was at home when Max had his accident?

According to a neighbor, yes. If you read that LE stated that Rebecca and her sister were the only 2 present in the mansion, that does not take into account who was in the guest house or the caretaker's apartment...........maybe they never even checked?

How awful for that family and their small children to be uprooted so abruptly, and asked to move out. I feel for them-- what a terrible experience. Especially for the children.

Were any of those children of an appropriate age to play with Max? Were they allowed to interact together?

ETA:
What I mean by that is that some very wealthy families genuinely appreciate the families and individuals who provide them with domestic help, and treat them with respect and friendliness. Other wealthy families I know treat domestic employees very poorly or disdainfully, and would never allow the employer's children to play with the children of the "help".

The Niles family resided there for quite some time......they were not guests.

Sorry, I new that. Were they renting or providing houskeeping/caretakers service? I had heard they were there for at least two years, is that correct?

Do you know the age of the children?

And, do you have any guesses or info on why they would move out because of Max's accident, or were asked to move out?

Inparadise, do you know where the Niles are today? Where are they residing and who are they working for? TIA

They were told to move out. There are 2 girls and a boy, the middle child (girl) entered kindergarten at Albert Einstein Academy in San Diego in late August, 2011. The older one is about 2 years older, and the baby (boy was probably around 2 to 3 in the summer of 2011).

I just want to bring up..... the last time I looked at the phone records... I noticed JS suddenly quit texting or talking to RZ.... I believe the last one was 8 ish the evening before she was found dead.... and then NOTHING...no contact why? previously he had texted etc. untill 3am....

there was supposed to be a message left after midnight but it doesn't show up on RZ's records... odd.. very odd... in fact..

why didn't JS try to contact RZ by phone when he got the text from AS... that is the first thing I would do call my beloved
to find out if they are okay.. I would not take a text from my sibling as proof....

His lack of emotion makes me suspicious too. Although Dina stated in the 'Boy Interrupted' article that '...she got the news at the hospital. “Jonah was sobbing. He said ‘Rebecca killed herself,’” ...i don't believe that.

Why would Jonah assume she killed herself and sob but not even go to the mansion to see what happened and talk with his support person Adam?

One can only make conjectures on the possible reasons Jonah did not go to the mansion the morning her body was found. Maybe it was not necessary because all he had to do was watch the news channels to see her uncovered disrespectfully for 13 hours - just like the rest of the world.

But that brings Up another point. Why DID she lie there for half a day? Did he call the authorities and insist that she at least be tented? If he did call, one would think there would be compliance with his request - i cannot fathom a legitimate reason not to comply.

Which brings up yet another question. If he didn't make the request for tenting Rebecca, was he satisfied with the disrespect shown her post mortem? Now that is the real question which leads to wondering what part he served in her death.

And maybe the police told Jonah to stay where he was, at the hospital? After all, the mansion was a crime scene.

Perhaps the police did tell Jonah to stay at the hospital. Do you think that Jonah was unaware that news cameras were broadcasting on network TV Rebecca's untented body?

Do you know that is what happened or is that your theory?

The police do not have the authority or legal right to tell Jonah to stay in the hospital or anywhere. The Spreckels mansion was his home. He had every right to be there particularly if the police was taking away Jonah's properties during their investigation. Jonah's rights as a property owner is protected under the 4th amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

Bourne, that is what I thought too but did not know the specific law it fell under. Thank you for clearing up that point by providing the actual law that stated Jonah's rights in the matter.

Sorry, I must disagree here - I really don't think the 4th amendment applies. The mansion was a crime scene. Jonah would not have been allowed in the court yard, and IMO, the police would have sent an officer to the hospital to take statements from Jonah. If he had gone to the mansion, he would not have been allowed behind the crime scene tape. On that morning, the responding officers did not know what they had yet, a murder or a suicide. Jonah would have been considered the main "suspect" at that time. He would NOT have been allowed near Rebecca's body. And IMO, there was no reason for him to leave the hospital - Rebecca was dead, but Max was not.

I'm going to have to guess that Jonah was listening heavily to his legal advisors and to stay the heck away, keep silent and lay low. Heck, to this day he still is. I am going to have to guess that Adam did so as well.

However, I still maintain that SOMEONE that supposedly LOVED Rebecca would have made sure she was treated RESPECTFULLY at the crime scene and she was NOT. That speaks volumes about who supposedly loved her and deducing the inactions of that someone - including law enforcement as well. Thoroughly disgusting behavior that I would love to see punishment for.

I doubt Jonah was watching the news reports at the hospital. I doubt he even knew her body was uncovered. I also doubt he contacted "legal advisors" immediately upon finding that Rebecca was dead. I think he was probably much too devastated to do anything except stay by Max's bedside.
