Re: Joseph Brant
First of all , it was CM who claimed the ancestry , and I doubt he would make such a public statement if not true (magazine)
Second of all , take a portrait of Joseph Brant beside Carl M. and there is a very strong resemblance (unique facial features) ... I did that last year and they certainly look "related" ... and WM & DM (facial features) also have those traits
I believe Joseph Brant had 9 children from different wives (one wife USA , the other Canada) (Brant fled USA - war)
7 of those children were in the Niagara - Brandford area , same general area as the Millards , I believe what Carl said , they are related , probably Joseph Brant is Carl's great great great grandfather.
I would call that a direct descendant.
trivia: Mohawks are very proud of their heritage , and are somewhat famous for having no fear of heights (building New York Skyscrapers) ... I wonder if that (lack of fear) applies to being a pilot too .... Carl was always happy to be far above the ground.
