Human remains of 3 children found in Hickory Hill, MPD says

Human remains of three children between the ages of 3 and 7 have been found in Hickory Hill, according to the Memphis Police Department.

Memphis Police Chief Cerelyn "C.J." Davis said the bodies were discovered by a person walking their dog on March 8, who then called police. Responding officers found what they believed to be a human skull near the edge of the woods.
On March 16, investigators used cameras to inspect the interior of the drainage system. On April 1, investigators accessed the drainage system from a nearby location and found what appeared to be an additional skull. On April 2, search teams conducted another coordinated canvass of the area, which resulted in the recovery of 14 additional bones consistent with human remains.

So it's been a little while.

John Skelton was definitely comfortable with driving far distances since he first tried to kidnap the boys by driving them to Florida.

But it does feel very random to drive all the way to Memphis and dump the boys there, so not sure.

It could also sadly be like those two poor girls that were buried in suitcases and found a few months back, killed by their mother and never reported missing. How sad to think of three children being killed and never being reported missing though

Hope these poor children will be identified soon regardless.

I skimmed through NCMEC missing children and didn’t find any groups of three+ siblings missing in that time frame from Missouri, Arkansas, Tennessee, or Mississippi. (Actually there was one, but it looked like an international custody dispute). I don’t remember the details of the Skelton case 100% but it would have been difficult and random for the father to go all the way to Memphis. So I also suspect these children weren’t reported missing

People on social media have brought up these cases as possibilities, but both sets of siblings went missing from Mississippi and were probably more likely to have been abducted to Mexico so it's not a perfect fit

Yeah, I guess it would've been possible for the Skelton dad to have driven all the way down to Memphis and back, but it seems like such a random spot it's probably not super likely. I wonder if he had any familiarity with Memphis.

I think I'd also lean towards them being children that were never reported missing, so sad

Honestly, good point, you might be right on that too. We don’t know much of anything about the remains at this point except the speculated ages.

Police said they believe the bones belonged to three different children between ages 3 and 7. As of Wednesday, investigators were still working on how the children died and when. But Davis said the bones have likely been in the area for years.

At this time, I agree it sounds like 3 related children who have not been reported missing. They aren't really school-aged yet (maybe 1 of them but may have never attended), so fewer people might be close to them.

It's heartbreaking to think what kind of parent or guardian would do this. Three different very young children. I wonder how far off a road they were found. Would it have been easy for someone to move them to this area from a vehicle, and if so, is it the kind of road someone from out of state might use in a panicked search for a location to do this?

I looked on maps, ridge meadow parkway is not long. On one end it's residential and the other some industrial, at the bend it’s wooded and I’m guessing that’s where it was.

Yeah, just from a cursory glance, it seems like only a location that someone local or familiar with the area would be likely to seek out. But I'm not sure, would be interesting to hear from a local.

Hope they'll be able to test their DNA soon since it seems like no local missing persons reports match.

Someone else shared that Michigan police don’t think it’s the Skelton boys due to the timeline.

Definitely leaning towards these children never being reported missing then
