MPD said 45-year-old James Boothe was on his way to the hospital with a 16-year-old girl when the she gave birth. According to court records, the girl told investigators that she'd been in a relationship with Boothe for three years.

Boothe took the baby and placed the baby in a dumpster behind a Shell Gas Station on East Shelby Drive, Memphis Police said.

A Facebook page belonging to Boothe states that he's lead maintenance at ALCO properties. Boothe is wearing an ALCO shirt in the mugshot released by the Shelby County Sheriff's Office

FOX13 learns new details about man accused of putting newborn baby in dumpster

He was on his way to the hospital with a 16-year-old girl when she gave birth, court records show. Investigators said that the girl told them that she'd been in a relationship with the 45-year-old man for three years.

After interviewing the 16-year-old, police learned Boothe may have been abusing the girl for three years, bond screening documents show.

According to the bail setting forms in court records, charges could be upgraded to include rape of a child. The bail forms said the girl involved is currently 16-years-old, and told investigators she had been in a relationship with Boothe for three years

Where were the parents and/or guardians of this child? She had been in a ‘relationship’ with this man since she was 13! Maybe younger! The laws are in place because a child is not capable of entering into a ‘relationship’ with an adult or anyone. I understand that a 16 year old can be hard to handle. Especially if her mind has been warped by a much older man since she was 13. That is why we have laws. Have this man arrested! Get her into some kind of therapy when you find this out not punishment. Punishing a 13 year old for being conned by an adult man just pushes her back into his arms. I hope beyond hope this man wasn’t her guardian. She made it to full term. So people had to know she was obviously pregnant. He was the one driving her to the hospital so how did that happen?

There’s a million questions. The police seem to have connected the infant with this 16 year old pretty quick so how did that happen. I hope she doesn’t get in any kind of trouble. She has been abused for years by this man.
