I sure won't be wasting my hard earned money on that book.

Well of course not. everyone knows the salient points will appear in the press anyway. who needs to actually buy the book? if, indeed, it appears at all and the Scientology mob don't get the thing trashed before it comes to light.

IMO, Morton's a dead man walking . . .
I didn't think about that, but you've got a point. If the books makes it into print, I'd like to take a look at it...at a library.

“Tom doesn’t want Katie doing her own publicity,” the source continued. “He expects all her photo shoots and interviews to be joint ventures that include him. He loves the attention. When The Last Samurai came out, Tom was literally begging to get magazine covers and no one wanted him because he’s too old and he didn’t sell. Since the affair with Katie, he’s gotten multiple covers from People and Us and he’s talking about doing covers for Vanity Fair, Vogue, Good Housekeeping, Redbook and Elle to promote MI3.”

Hollywood insiders speculate Team Cruise has kept DeVette’s involvement secret in an attempt to dampen rumors that Holmes has become utterly dependent on the star Scientologist. “It’s really just another way of controlling her,” says a friend of the actress. “But I don’t even think they need to at this point. She doesn’t talk to anyone besides Tom and his people anymore, and she didn’t have that many friends to begin with.”

It's all to do with publicity for Tommy, isn't it?

That pretty much sums it up, doesn't it?

But why didn't she have many friends? come to think of it, we haven't heard any of her friends speak out about this, have we? does 'many friends' mean 'any friends'?

I think you've spotted it Jeana: he's picked on a loner -- an odd one out. and he's manipulated her so easily just because of this.

barsteward!!! :furious:

Well, I look at it this way, Tom's a serious nutbag. However, she's 26 years old. I watched an episode of "Cops" last weekend and there was a 19-year old girl with three kids getting the chit beat out of her by her boyfriend. The lived in a trailer and there was only plastic lawn furniture in the house and no food. If Katie Holmes is such a dish rag that she'll give up her dignity, her family, her religeon, and any friends that she may have had to hook up with Tom Cruise, I say go for it. She's young and the regret will most likely last a lifetime, but there are bigger problems in the world. I, for one, won't be adding to their bottom line by watching any of their movies, etc. ;)

I won't watch their films unless they're on telly and there's nothing else to do -- they will be plenty to do, believe me.

i quite see there are more important problems in the world, but i'm fascinated to watch the total control of Holmes by Cruise. and to see Scientology so culttish. clearly cultish.

for me, it's the sickness of the cult i'm most interested in. this is so out there, the Cruise/Holmes thing.

i've been involved with studying a particular cult at work for many years and i can see what Scientology is doing. i'm aghast. and i'm solidly against it becoming mainstream -- particularly as 'stars' are (and have been for some time) endorsing it.

fortunately, with the TomKat circus, it looks like no one is buying and it's showing how screwed up this organisation really is.

:woohoo:

This sums up my interest as well. I am disgusted with both Tom and Katie for his controlling her and her allowing it! What a poor example of an unhealthy alliance. The Scientology controls Tom, Tom controls Katie... and we hear about it all, blow by blow!

The poor little rich baby!

My co-worker just got back from lunch and heard on the radio that as Katie gets bigger in her pregnancy that Tom wants her to have nude photos taken, think Demi Moore, to be published on the covers of magazines....

UGH! Her poor parents must be sick.

I'll look for a link.

She looks six months pregnant. How long have they been together? It seems to me that about the time they were spouting the "she is a virgin" that Ms. Katie was already pregnant.

Well, if that's true it pretty much confirms that she is just a publicity vehicle for him, and not someone he loves and respects.

Postcard from the edge:

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes Expecting Virgin Birth

"That is a value that's so important to Katie and me," said Cruise from his elevated chair in the Scientology tent on the set of Mission Impossible: 3. "Couples who can't wait until marriage to open their most intimate gifts do not have the discipline to be decent parents and, like Brooke Shields, are often punished with severe postpartum depression."

Warning: may be offensive to those who are religious

Ok, I know postpartum depression is not funny, but he really has gone off the deep end if he truly thinks this! Does he seriously listen to the crap that flows from his mouth??? :croc: :bang:

Hey, wait a minute. If couples who can't wait until marriage to have sex can't be decent parents - what does that make Tom and Katie? Are Scientologists exempt?

EDIT: Guess I should have read the link before I posted. It's all explained there.
