Oof. Can’t wait to hear more details.

Will this be the work of a serial killer or is the place somewhere bodies have been dumped by several killers? At least some families are going to have some answers and get their loved ones back for burial.

CornwallLive had been told by a reliable source that the investigation - which also involves private security staff and a drone ban - now involves a number of bodies. However, when we asked the force about this, Detective Superintendent Jon Bancroft, from the team investigating since the body of missing man Daniel Coleman, 43, was found there, refused to answer.
Police Commissioner says 'multiple bodies' found in Cornwall woods

Officers from across the country have been brought in as a heavy police presence remains in woodlands outside a small village where a murder investigation is into its third week. Forensic officers from Devon and Cornwall Police are still combing an area of woodland for human remains.

The area is called Paramoor Woods and is located outside Sticker, a small village near Hewas Water, just off the A390 between St Austell and Truro.

No doubt a developing story.

From the first link above:

Police and crime commissioner Alison Hernandez told a panel that multiple bodies had been discovered as part of the investigation into his death.

'We've found dead bodies in that wood,' she said, adding that officers were trying to work out 'how many were there'.

But Devon and Cornwall police refuted the claims.

Detective Superintendent Jon Bancroft said: 'We currently have three separate murder investigations being conducted in the Cornwall area.

'I have oversight of all of these investigations at this time, and can confirm they are being carried out independently of each other and are not believed to be linked.

'I can categorically state that we have recovered remains believed to be those of Daniel Coleman only from an area of woodland in Sticker. No other remains have been located at this scene to date.'

Well, that's all confusing.

That seems unlikely. Jmo

Now, Cornwall's police and crime commissioner Alison Hernandez told a Devon and Cornwall Police and Crime Panel today (Friday, July 25) that the force, along special units from the National Crime Agency and officers from around the UK, have been searching for the remains of multiple people.

Today, Ms Hernandez told the panel that the woodland search was so big and necessitated so many officers because "we’ve found dead bodies".

We’re just trying to establish how many there may be at this point in time and whether we are aware of who they are or what might have happened to them. So we also don’t know how long they may have been there, some of them."

Very mixed messages, imo...

This might be one of those cases where we have to patiently sift through tangled information, trying to figure out what is accurate, current, etc. Be willing to adjust thinking as we go along!

'Police have denied their own crime commissioner's claim that 'multiple bodies' had been found in a wood - insisting searches have only uncovered one.
Officers have been scouring Paramoor Woods near the Cornish village of Sticker for several months - aided by specialist teams from the National Crime Agency. ''

The National Crime Agency has been drafted in to help Devon and Cornwall Police scour Paramoor Woods outside the Cornish village of Sticker

''As you know there is a large crime scene that has been identified in Cornwall that is requiring a lot of effort to even scene guard the area.
'The level of expertise, some of the mutual aid we've brought in, is expertise in specific types of investigations that we didn't have.''

'I know there's been some information in the media. We've got a huge forensic tent down there.''

Not they they are paying attention to what I think, sitting in my armchair in USA, but they should assign ONE spokesperson to address the public about the investigation.

This doesn't sound good, I fear they're trying to cover it up to prevent unrest JMO etc.

I'm so confused. I think this is one where we'll have to wait a while to find out what the truth is.

I'm not sure how their "crime commissioner" in the UK works, but I know the federal agency I worked for years ago (law enforcement related) would sometimes have a media spokesperson that got the job because they'd screwed up something else in the field. A few others were excellent, but those certain individuals usually had NO clue what they were talking to the media about. I'd tend to believe people in the field more than the "official spokesperson" myself. This will be interesting though, that's for certain.
