Resemblance of McDuff and BSL

K.jill firefox just posted upthread that the paper back was first released in 2001

Gary's second book, The Bad Boy from Rosebud was released in July of 1999. Dan Rather of CBS News called it "classic crime reporting." The paperback version of Bad Boy from Rosebud was released by St Martin's Press in November 2001.

I would think that his book was pre-read before release by family. I know if I wrote a book I would be giving my sister, brother, a copy signed. Perhaps GL did and it was laying around in the house, BSL read it at his mom's house, or read it after her.

If this is true, would this be the 1st case that a serial killer has a son that becomes another serial killer?

Ward Weaver murdered two of his daughter's friends... His father was in prison at the time for murdering 2 people also... I remember they suspected them of being responsible for more, but these were the ones they were able to prove. Both father and son had a long list of other crimes they committed or were accused of, and were sexual in nature... Very strange family dynamics going on here...

I do not know. I tried to figure out the family tree today and am confused. Km is a cousin but I do not know which of his parents are Gary's sibling.

Just to clarify, are you saying Kenneth McDuff is a cousin to Gary Lavergne? Or just a typo and you meant BL and GL are cousins?

While I don't think it's likely that McDuff and BSL are related, it IS possible. And the resemblance is uncanny! ugh!

I did a double take! The resemblance is remarkable. I just don't know how he could realistically be BL's bio father. But the amazing resemblance makes me keep revisiting that idea. I'm just not sure what to think about all this!

Interesting article on GL's interview with McDuff:
http://www.garylavergne.com/burntOrange-spring2010-Davis.pdf
""He was easily the most evil person I've ever encountered,"
Lavergne said. "With him it was an entire presence, like there was a
third presence in the room. But the thing I remember most was his
hands. They were the biggest hands I had ever seen."
With McDuff standing 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighing more
than 250 lbs. at age 51..."

I just want to point out that in the crime scene photos of lavergnes residence as they were carrying out items under bags, a little of users agreed on a broom being one of those.

Kenneth Mcduff is also known as the "broom killer"

Typo, I will go back and correct.

I can't go back in and edit that post. I flagged it and asked a mod to remove it or to change km to GL.

Sorry, I don't want to confuse anyone.

going waaaaay out here on a limb, but if it's not possible that BL is his son, could it be possible he is his brother? They look too much alike for it to be a coincidence imo.

reffering to Mcduff:
"He usually dug his graves in advance, always twenty paces from a landmark that he could find in the dark.

He seemingly enjoyed revisiting the graves, and not only in his imagination.

bsl dug up fresh graves as a kid. We believe he may have moved his victims bodies from one spot to another after their death. He may hav an interest in dead bodies, or at least is not disturbed by handling one as most people are.

Jessica Hawk -

"Hawk was found dead inside her Bywater shotgun home on Chartres Street Monday, Aug. 11, 2008. Police discovered her body while conducting a well-being check that morning. She was 32. "

"We believe ... she was killed either Friday night or Saturday sometime,"

"Police discovered her body, which had multiple stab wounds."

I think this one was discussed on the MS thread.
just trying to formulate a thought here, can anyone help?

Somebody mentioned something about Mcduff killing the same day that he was released from prison. Can you please repost that info... I cant find it.

The reason I ask is because of the above unsolved murder. Lots of sleuthers have gone round and round about whether or not it could have been bsl because it happened on the exact weekend that he was released. Could have happened day before his release, or could be same day.

Does anybdy follw?

I will look for an msm link.
It has been discussed a bit, but I don't remember if someguy told us that or if I read it in an article.
I read that he was caught digging up fresh graves with another boy. I don't remember the other boys name but I posted asking if anyone knew what became of the other boy. Seems like a local said he was still around and gotten into some minor trouble as an adult but they had no idea if he was still friendly with bsl.

I will look for a link and the other guys name.

Foxfire mentioned that he had posted a link some time ago where you can read it online. Maybe someone will find that for us.

When reading on GL's site and him mentioning that KMc's son personally asked him the question about writing about KMc...I find it very strange that GL would know KMc's son. I have searched about KMc having children and no where can I find that he has a son, how would GL be one of the only people to know this?

I follow.
On Wikipedia it says that Mcduff started killing 3 days after his release.
Hold in, I will add the link.

The bones and cemetery were mentioned on topix and the other guy RB was said to have stolen stuff from BSL's burnt home last year. The cemetery had that weird name with the legend of a the boy chained to a headstone. bee tag boy cemetery or something like that.

I believe it said it was a victim's son that asked that not KM's son. I'm pretty sure it was on GL's website, however I can't seem to find it now.

ETA: Here's the link, the quote is in the first paragraph: http://www.garylavergne.com/rosebud.htm

Thank you.
I have read some of the topix posts. Some are good and seem to come from sane knowledgable people and some folks are crazy.
Maybe that is where I read it? If so, it is not a reliable source.
Anyone know it has been mentioned anywhere else?

I will try googling that cemetery and see if there are any articles. I also remember reading that he dropped out of school just after this and went to a counciling center

There was a discussion on here about that legendary cemetery led by Fairest of them All. I don't have the link to the thread but I had kept a small screenshot of the post. That discussion came up, I believe, around the time they were searching those mounds.
