The possibility of a sibling being her child does, IMO, offer a somewhat reasonable justification for JSS sealing her testimony. That would have consequences for an innocent person that are pretty difficult to imagine. If that is the secret, I for the first time ever, might actually understand JSS's ruling, and even see JA's life prior to the murder in a new light. It would also be something that I'd think the jurors would not be able to dismiss from their minds if her testimony is stricken. No, it doesn't justify murder at all or change the validity of the conviction, I'm not saying that, but it would have an impact on her sentencing, for me. For all those reasons, and especially for what that could mean to the innocent, I really hope this is not the case and JSS simply lost her legal mind for a bit. But I admit it did give me pause, and up to now I've only seen her as a monster that deserves the DP. I hate this trial and all the ugly in it...

As long as Jodi is in court, she doesn't have to do her prison chores. I want to hear from her. After being on the stand for 18 days, there's lots of lies she must keep straight this time. No doubt she's frightened about that.

As far as the previous foreman being blamed for the lack of DP consensus, IIRC, the vote was more than one person against voting DP.

You want to hear from JA? I don't. I don't even want to hear her allocution. Finding out that it really was her on the stand is the first time I've been glad there's no video.

You're right, it was 8 to 4.

I still blame Zervakos because why not, he gave interviews right away after telling the rest of the jurors that they should all avoid answering media questions for a little while. He also helped the DT with strategy for the retrial. I don't even know who the other three were.

I'm not going to tell the entire thing or give more details but it is my belief and opinion that the jury was not always split that way, that it was a larger split amd that one member of the jury refused to deliberate from the getgo creating a known hung jury the entire time for the rest of them.
I also believe that a unanimous decision WAS made which was to collectively take a pause before talking to the media until a specified date and the foreperson had the media in his home the very next morning. Athe very same foreperson who one member of the media knew was in that role while deliberations were still going on. That same reporter who I also know without a shadow of a doubt expected a certain outcome in this trial to NOT be first degree murder seemed to know in advance that the jury was hanging on the sentence. The day before the hang came in and the day he reported (oops too early) the id of the foreperson, the usually rumpled crumpled unkempt dresser showed up at the courthouse in a crisp shirt and tie strutting the halls where we were all waiting like a peacock in a parade.
so many fishy things between that reporter and the foreperson. I checked out a theory I have with two of the jurors after the fact and let me say Its not one everyone in the know finds far fetched.

ps I know who the other 3 are who hung but it's up to the jurors to speak about it...I have a well formed theory though based on private conversations w jurors who aren't speaking out yet which I got from them. That 8-4split is not what it seems imo.

Yep. Jodi wanted James Aiken as a witness. Whether that happened or not :dunno:

Am I the only one that does not know who James Aiken is?? Someone that she claims saw bruising?

I also think something weird happened in there, maybe the foreman made a deal, that he'd vote guilty premeditated if someone else agreed to no DP. I don't believe for 1 minute that those other 3 jurors came to that decision on their own.

I believe I read yesterday that's he's an expert on living conditions in prisons, on death row etc. He's probably going to get up there and tell them how hard it will be for her on DR, etc.

I think if it's known what the futility of the outcome is anyway from the start, the serious with which ppl deliberate and the age of deliberators becomes a factor.

Hard on her with her "mental illness"? Bring on Demarte!!!! Can't come soon enough !!!

Another thing I find odd, the juror with the big mouth, who approached Beth Karas on day 2, family friend of JAwhen they were kids, has just disappeared. No interviews, no nothing. Very odd. I expected we would hear from her the day she got the boot.

PS---happy turkey day to all the Americans. I hope everyone has family/friends to share a great meal with today and that nobody is alone.

I can't wait. This jury will be blown away when they see the states doctor actually have real answers and how to speak to the opposition with respect, unlike DR SEX and how she treated JM.

Desperation! I hope someday the original secret witness list comes out, Arias' machinations will become even more evident.

I do hope someone from the prosecution does write a book, Flores or Martinez, because you know there must be tons of behind the scenes sh** that has not come out. The fore-man stuff, too.

IIRC, which may not be correct because sometimes my brain scrambles, Jodi said in her Yreka interviews that she had breast implants and that her Dad told her that she had her bottom fixed (implying that she was too young to remember). It would explain the large hands, feet and the wide shoulders. Also the 'she was very strong' comment made by Ryan Burns. It may also explain what we have regretfully seen in photos of her.
There is something more than just evil that comes out when observing her behavior.

Newbie confession; messed up again! This was in reply to post 478 that questioned if JA was a hermaphrodite.

So here is what I am thinking . . . . Dr. MF has already published that she did not feel that sexually aggressive perpetrator convicted offenders being warehoused in jail or prison is helpful to them. She likened the prison system to an "institute of higher learning" for offenders, an stated it made them worse instead of better and they were more abusive when they got out. I think the DT is going to get her to state that on the stand in the upcoming days.

If this Aiken person then gets called to the stand to testify to something similar about prison and death row - could the DT garner sympathy for Jodi to get the DP off the table? (I know that this argument could backfire - as this theory would lead one to think she should never be let out on the streets). But it might fit with DT wanting certain witnesses to testify in certain orders.

I'm still wondering whether JA is a hermaphrodite, or as it's called these days, intersex(her pics from the "photo shoot" they supposedly had that day got me wondering). I had even tried asking Dr.Drew last year what he thought, but of course if he ever addressed my question I missed it. :/ Anyway, perhaps that would fall under the veil of unconventional sex studies?
May I ask what makes you think that she's a hermaprodite? Did Dr.F. Imply this or is it your gut feeling?

I love this thread when we are "In-recess" because it is so easy to moderate.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. Keep safe.
