This started again on Nov. 10th! What have I been doing. I guess I have a lot of catching up to do.

NOT really. Nurmi has been traveling at a snails pace, and the judge has cut out half of the working court days, so you have not missed much. Jodi TRIED to testify in total secrecy, but the higher courts just shut her down. So it will be revealed. And her expert witness was an EPIC FAIL. after Juan got through with her. So you really have not missed a thing.

Question for our legal eagles. If Jodi's best bud couldn't be tried for anything he may have done due to a passing of statute of limitations, could he be compelled to testify?

Thanks, after I posted that I found out that camera's weren't in the courtroom and I hate reading tweets so I'll just read the summarizations here and read media articles.

I feel like I'm all caught up already just from reading the stuff posted since I posted that.

@maryellenabc15: According 2 Appeals Court order it IMPLIES the mystery witness the defense tried to block out the press & public from was #JodiArias #abc15

Why do people keep saying this? They didn't imply it, they said it! "...testimony by Jodi Arias." Why would they say that if it was someone else?

I think the door that the media is leaving open is the COA could be referring to Jodi Arias and her ILK (in like kind) et al for this petition/motion court procedure.

I think it was Jodi herself. Troy Hayden said she was and that her testimony was cut off. I'm inclined to believe him..

I am so glad now things happened in the order they did. With Arias stopping her testimony and they said she hadn't even gotten to the time she met Travis......it made way for Dr. F to do all the damage she did before Arias gets up to testify again. Dr. F has been the best state witness Juan could ever hope to have and even better than AVL. He got to bring many more things to the jury's attention than he did through AVL. Dr. F said that she did not believe Travis was a pedophile. If the jury thinks JA is lying about this concerning the man she slaughtered she has a much better chance of getting the DP than ever before.

So when Arias gets up in that cold, boring, and dispassionate way of hers Juan will tell her even her own expert knows she is a pathological liar.

When Juan mentioned they could go forward that day when JSS was slapped down by the court and she opened the courtroom back up.... I could tell in Juan's tone it was Arias, and he couldn't wait to cross examine her again.:) This time he will bring in a lot more things than last time.

When she is on direct with KN I will find something else constructive to do but will keep up here and when I read Juan is up to cross examine then I will be reading every tweet.:D

All KN will do is say the same thing in that repetitious boring monotone of his.

I cant wait to see who all Juan calls in rebuttal.

AZLawyer: Question please?

If KN opens the door and his witnesses testify to something new will Juan be able to call someone to rebut that he doesn't have on his list now? tks.

OT: I have been cooking like a crazy woman for two days now and still have lots to do. Over 30 people will be at our home tomorrow for Thanksgiving lunch so I want to take the time now to wish each and every one of you here at WS a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving Day.

What is really really curious to me is why the attention loving narcissistic sociopath Jodi Arias would not want more attention on her at this stage. Anyone have a guess?

Kathy, a very cynical side of me thinks that one reason she may have wanted this is because of her devoted supporters.

If her new testimony is devoid of allegations of Travis being a pedophile and leaves out claims of physical abuse by Travis, this could hurt her support base. With that comes a loss of money to her commissary fund and purchases of her art. And she will be the center of attention in a much smaller sphere.

From what I can gather, she puts a tremendous amount of time into her network. She has a sophisticated system for correspondence and she calls quite a few people (rarely family, from whom she has been estranged) to keep tabs on everything that is being said on social media.

She has some devoted fanatics who will still stick by her even if her story does change, because they will rationalize away the changes for innocent, wrongly prosecuted Jodi. ((((())))))

Nurmi said there were three mitigation witnesses. Apparently Jodi was one (the secret). Fonseca second. Who is the third? And another question. Since the COA just cut out a lot of Nurmi's crap, can we get on with Dr. deMarte and the closing arguments and let the jury go home on December 18th? JSS, are you listening?

I *think* the 3rd witness might be the computer dude. In all the DT arrogance, they think he'll get to testify about the "🤬🤬🤬🤬". Just guessing though.

It's possible they're just being cautious to avoid printing anything absolute before it's 100% confirmed. That can be embarrassing for a publication.

I don't think there has been ANY reason for her to have an appeal heard BUT Nurmi is trying SO hard for this. I think he is hoping the jurors see something or hear something so he can cry MISTRIAL! and sometimes the media is just not very smart. They want the story and don't care or think about the consequences. I think Jodi didn't want to testify because she has yet ANOTHER story to reveal and also because she can't stand hearing what the "haters" say about her and she can't stand not knowing either, so this way if she was allowed to testify in secret, she could spin any lie she wanted and she wouldn't have to hear from us "haters". But I have full confidence in Juan and I hope the jurors will see thru all this bull.

Two thoughts.......

1. I think Jodi wanted no cameras, no media, no public because she was denied coverage from inside jail by the sheriff. I think she was retaliating.

2. In reference to content of testimony by secret witness "Arias" - I don't think the "stopped short at the time frame of meeting TA" should be taken literal.
I think that was to be a joke - with the amount of time that the witness was on the stand, and if it was Jodi - all that was talked about was probably how they met (lol, hahaha sort of thing)

Just my opinion.

Nurmi will be filing plenty of motions if he thinks there was even a remote possibility that a leak occurred during the silent stage.

Excellent points, Ruby -
1) Didn't even consider that having been denied her 'documentary' or whatever other interviews in jail, 'secret witnessing' would be the ultimate control move - I think you might be right!

2) I totally agree with the "secret witness' context - I understood it the same way - tongue in cheek, given her previous testimony, CMJA she probably hadn't gotten past meeting Travis - I don't think that was meant to be a quote.

And I'll add one of my own:
3) Troy Hayden reported the 'secret witness' was CMJA, and said he had three credible sources, but didn't state who they were - and all the other reports quoted his reporting on this .......I think it was other reporter that speculate how he knew...that they'd heard talk of someone walking in by accident...
since we know JA has him on speed dial (to set up post conviction interviews), maybe one source could have been the witness herself (maybe with MDLR nodding, snapping gum, and pointing at JA - along with KN and JW looking up and whistling) - that's three right there....
Okay, probably not quite that way, but he could have good spotters, know all the entrances and exits, news crews get scoops - he could have many credible sources, of differing types - if he can put them together, he knows he's onto something (I do think JA could have tipped him off in some way - she love her attention). And he sure seem to have been right...
JMO, IMO, MOO, and all that..

Oooooh, that's a good point.

No kidding. I would love to have seen Dr. F explain how miss "suffer in silence" got the Constitution of the United States of America set aside for her own manipulative purposes.

Now, isn't that the truth!! It's absolutely mind-boggling!!!! Love reading you AZlawyer. Thank-you for lending your expertise!!

@maryellenabc15: @courtchatter We've been instructed by our atty to use "IMPLIED" -- keeing it legal!!Don't want to give defense any fire power!
:-)

There ya go. Lol.

This makes the most sense to me- thanks so much. I was really looking for a reason why the judge would have granted it though, how do you think that would play into the judge allowing this?

I just got home from work feeling virtuous that I stayed away from WS all day. And now I read this very good news from the CoA. Sweet, sweet justice!

I imagine the reptilian brain of JA is furiously working up new schemes.

So silly of them. It would make more sense to say, 2 "alleged" orders by the court says the witness was Jodi Arias than to say the order "Implies" it was JA. It does no such thing. It states exactly that. So weird.

 ((()))

These are good points. Her network isn't huge, but it brings in some cash on a seemingly regular basis. The disadvantage to that is that these well meaning, if deluded people have wreaked havoc in her case. They must drive her defense attorneys nuts. I'll say again that I'm convinced she has taken direction from her fans against the advice of her attorneys.

No, not at all.

Now if Juan Martinez were to write a book then I'd buy 10 copies at the very least. :loveyou:

I really hope JM will write a book about the facts behind the facts, interactions with the DT, his strategy, how he prepares etc. I think it would be a New York Times Best Seller immediately. Now how we can encourage him to do so? :)
