1. She feels no guilt or remorse. Where we would have a heart attack and a guilty look, she had a smile.
2. She likely flashed her smile, flipped her hair and charmed the officer. He testified to as much.
3. She is a complete sociopath/psycho.

My heart would have stopped, after it started beating again I probably would have floored that pedal and made a run for it.

There is no way I would have been able to keep my composure.

I hate Killer Arias also, more than anyone except that baby killer who got away with it in Florida. That one disgusts me more than this killer mainly because she brutally murdered an innocent child. But, Arias would be far more dangerous to society if she were ever set free.

I am not able to forgive either of them. Had either one shown remorse rather than trying to shift the blame, maybe I could have.

BBM Marfan Syndrome The Lori Ruff case sure is a mystery.

Arias is not lanky or tall enough to have Marfan Syndrome. Maybe she just has large bone structure. I wonder if we sometimes read too much into every detail. Just sayin...she's no natural beauty but that doesn't mean she has any syndrome, or was supposed to be a man.

Although, I never thought she was really that pretty, when she was seeing him she was well made up, with the blonde hair and did have a nice figure. It's amazing what makeup can do!

It truly is. There's this website and the blogger posts before and after pictures. They're insane. Anyways Jodi didn't/ doesn't have a pretty face. But with the right hair and clothes she managed to look very good.

I don't suppose you recall if she said when this one time was? Was it that last day?

Hi Val, I always appreciate your posts very much !
Unfortunately, this one I don't understand. Could you help me?

Hmmm... Now I'm wondering: Did Nurmi expect an appeal, and if he did, how much time did he think he'd have for JA to be on the stand?

[QUOTE=krkrjx;11251867. But, Arias would be far more dangerous to society if she were ever set free.

Right, krkrjx. Just because the jurors will not hear that she had a box of 9 mm. bullets in her rental, along with her new gun to fire them, doesn't mean we ignore that.

I think Nurmi wanted to proceed with mitigation asserting the crime was a product of the killer's psychosis. We've seen oblique references to that. Arias would have none of it, from what we read. Of course, it would not be reluctance on his part to spare us slime but an effort to obtain a lesser sentence. There are a few instances where she expressed fear of the mental ward, once when she explained hmmn why she had not been open about her "plan to commit suicide". The drama queen embellished this with hyperbole & horror and no one believes she truly was going to kill herself. But she does exhibit fear of such a diagnosis and was she not surprised when her television statement of preferring death to life in prison landed her squarely in such a ward! She refused to follow Nurmi's lead, despite the weakness of her own mitigation. All her bets are on appeals. A deluded fool.

Yes, I agree. I have big feet and big hands. I'm all woman. I promise. The Jodi dragging because of her hands is not nice to hear for those of us (mainly me!) who were blessed (better big hands than no hands lol) with big hands.

I've read here and elsewhere there have been mentions of them meeting in chambers. I know both attorney must be present. Jodi's presence is not required, but when she's in those closed meetings, Travis' Family should be present too, IMO.
Victims (TA family)are allowed in any proceeding that the defendant has the right to attend, whether or not she chooses to be there. AFAIK, they've been doing that.

About the license plate deal, I really wonder if she saw that tactic in a movie or TV show and mimiced it thinking it would somehow help her conceal her trip.

I did a little research last year during the first trial about whether an upside down license plate could fool traffic cameras. There wasn't a lot out there and the idea seems to be something of an urban legend. I saw a post or two from people who worked with traffic cameras, some of whom thought it MIGHT work, but nobody knew for sure.

I agree that it has the hallmarks of something she saw on TV.

Well, I suppose it is possible she did it on purpose. Even if it would not fool traffic cams, her believing it would is all it would take for her to do it.

So, I will stay open to the possibility even though it happening by accident makes more sense to me. I mean, she was on her way to commit a crime and had gone so far as to demand an inconspicuous color rental car. To me it makes no sense to deliberately have upside down plate that would increase the risk of being stopped by a traffic cop.

Unless she did it in Utah just to be noticed by a cop, a Utah, alibi providing cop.

I agree, she is a danger to society. Any person who would piss her off, IMO I can see her killing. I pray that if she doesn't get the DP then she gets LWP.

I hope she gets the DP, but if not, LWOP is my second choice. Either way, she dies a prisoner. I also hope her last breath is long and excruciating for her. She deserves nothing less.

I'm betting he planned for her to be up there at least 2 weeks

This is kind of random and should maybe go in the sidebar, but it also applies to the case as a whole and is something I've been wondering about for what seems like forever... (lol, I need to install an auto-Juan on my computer to say "ma'am" when I've been rambling for too long!)... Anyway, here's the thing: I just did a Google search for secure password generators. In the "related searches" list, at the bottom of the first screen of results, were (Ta da! My point!) a bunch of search phrases for hacker sites. I clicked and sure enough, and no surprise really, there are a ton of hacking sites out there. Guess I've just been incredibly naive about all this stuff.

So I wonder if part of what Jodi did in her copious, no-social-life-of-her-own, free time was go through hacker sites like these to get Travis' passwords. And I wonder if there's evidence of this on any of the hard drives that are being juggled around in this case.

re bold - has this letter ever been released?? If so, anyone here have a link, as I don't believe I've read this!

TIA!!
Niner,
KCL saw the letter. One of Travis's siblings let her read it. 18 pages of trash and gory murder details, all the while denying she did it! I also think there were references to her and Travis having a future. The family doesn't want it released I guess. But I would release it, especially since Grandma is gone and I would show the world how awful Jodi really is. If it brought about the guaranteed worst punishment then I would make sure the jury saw it, if I could.

I am still wondering what the story is about James Aiken. He works for prison or jail and was on her witness list??

Somehow I think there is a bigger story there? Has he become a friend? An advocate? What?

Seems she is in no hurry to leave where she is at. Makes me wonder. Will we ever be able to see first witness list?

He's a retired prison warden who is on Maricopy County's list of service providers. He's referred to as a consultant now and gives his opinion regarding how he feels a convict will do in prison or what prison will do to the convict, I think. He's listed on this portion of the Maricopa County website:

https://www.maricopa.gov/OPDS/Assets/Documents/Service_Providers/PrisonExpert.pdf

ETA: I have no idea if this guy is a witness for the defense. Where did that info. come from?

You just got me thinking, and maybe it was already talked about, but I wonder if JSS wasn't indeed trying to protect JA's parents by allowing the 'secret' testimony. I wouldn't put it past JA to come up w/ a story that both of her parents sexually abused her when she young. She probably told the judge that she wanted to protect their reputation (just like she did Travis's) and that she wouldn't testify about her parents unless everyone was locked out.
I don't know, I'm still dumbfounded by it all.
