I realize the rules for evidence are different in this phase, but I don't think that's what he's doing since Juan said he can prove they were forged. I think he is trying to get computer in in lieu of the letters, and hoping to be able to imply some of it may have been child .

This is what makes me so angry. They are allowed to imply! No proof!

Haha, I think this is so funny. When the transcript is released I believe we will get to read word for word what went on in the courtroom, not just tweets. We will actually know more of the 'secret' testimony than the open court testimony. Hopefully JS is just waiting on the COA written ruling to release it. Talk about a backfire Jodi.

IMO, the higher courts are going to need more than "young cheerleader" or searches for teen to prove that's there was child here. Neither of those things are child .

Jeff Gold says we started with 19 jurors, not 18, so there are still 4 alternates left. Is that correct?

I believe so because one juror had a family emergency (or situation or something) before they were even brought out and sworn in on Day 1 (and was relieved of duty), and the panel was 18 when sworn in (12 women, 6 men) so there must have been 19 chosen originally.

IIRC, JM can't PROVE they were forged. The problem for the DT was that for obvious reasons it couldn't produce the originals. Nurmi did not give up on having the letters brought in this time around. There was related (sealed) skirmishing this summer..

I don't believe for a minute that Nurmi thinks having watching admitted will make any difference. I also think he knows there is no child on TA 's computer.

Yes, he has nothing to lose by trying to get JSS to allow him to snooker the jury on that score, and yes, the computer snafu sideshow has given him the kind of nice fat delay he likes best, but no, I don't think that's all he has in mind.

Very loose allegations of child watching pale in comparison to the effect confessional letters "written" by TA would have on the jury.

I do not believe Nurmi's given up on getting them in, and given what JSS has allowed, I think it's entirely possible he thinks he has a shot at it .

JSS has already ruled that they can't be admitted since there is no hard copy of them, they were anonymously e-mailed to Nurmi and without the original pages they can't be examined for forgery, etc., I believe that was the basis for her ruling, and I don't see how Nurmi can overcome that. Unless the originals surface, but then the person holding them would have a lot of questions to answer. lol

I think this was something that happened a while ago because this is one of those things the defense claim Det. Flores' wife was going around talking about when it was supposed to be sealed information. MDLR wouldn't be an officer of the court. I just wonder how it was found out what the officer said.

That's right, it was in the October 11 defense motion to dismiss.

IMO, JA will never see the light of free day. One of the hardest things for me to accept about this whole process right now is that Jodi Arias is basking in the knowledge that she is in control. This brutal butcher is running the show and it makes her HAPPY. JA has compartmentalized the heinous crime and separated it from the performance she is playing now.

Jodi Arias is a psycho who WILL kill again if allowed to be free.

I've come to think that many of us would feel better about her being given LWOP, or having the trial prolonged, or other now unpalatable options, if we just saw some indication that she was NOT enjoying herself. If she looked like she at least felt concerned every once in awhile.

It just isn't going to happen. She's a sociopathic narcissist facing prison til she dies. These months are the zenith of her life...the best times she's ever had or will have again. Of course she's laughing.

It doesnt bother me as much any more because its not for much longer, no matter how many delays. Her life is already over.

You may be right that they withdrew trying to admit them, but I think the argument was with no originals they couldn't be vetted. I have to run some errands now but when I get back I'll see what I can find about them.

As blonde bombshell Arias changed her look to that of a demure brunette wearing specs for the televised trial, her mother San*dy Arias met with an ENQUIRER reporter in Phoenix and handed over photocopies of two letters allegedly handwritten by Alexander.

In the first letter, dated Nov. 27, 2006, Al*exander asks Arias to wear “boy’s briefs” that he can “rip off.” He also asks her to wear one of his shirts with his engraved cuff links so he can see his initials while she performs oral sex on him.

The second letter was dated March 2, 2008, just three months before Alexander’s murder. In it, he admits that he once hit Arias “in the face.” He also claims that marrying her would help erase his “deviant” thoughts.


“Jodi wanted me to get these let*ters out to the public. I am only doing this because she asked me to,” her mother tearfully told an ENQUIRER reporter.

“Jodi has several other letters in her possession, but she’s holding off on releasing them.”

According to Mrs. Arias, only electronic copies of the letters exist.

“Jodi told me that the originals were destroyed,” she said.

The ENQUIRER learned that Jodi Arias tried to enter the letters as evidence in 2010, but a judge deemed them “inadmissible” after they were analyzed by a handwriting expert.

“These letters are quite literally the only card Jodi has left to play,” noted the source. “Getting them out to the public is her strategy to be acquitted of murder and escape the death penalty.

She ruled that last time around. IIRc there are a handful of sealed motions from this past summer relating to the letters and the potential testimony of a hand writing expert.

I hope I'm needlessly concerned. Will research it all today.
