BBM:

What you wrote is what I believe. Remember that video when Travis was telling everyone about what happened when a gun was pulled on him? She just lies there, bored (and imo was lying there staking her claim in front of everyone; like a dog peeing on a tree). If the story isn't about her or she isn't the one talking, she isn't interested.

Staking her claim indeed. Not even bothering to participate -- she's not there to get to know his friends better, just -- as you say -- to pee on her tree. The tree didn't look like it was enjoying the experience much. How terribly sad and awful -- and maybe ironic? -- that the "blond thing in [his] lap" (I think Martinez called her that) would soon pull a gun on him herself. And he wouldn't live to tell that tale

I guess Jodi never got the memo about appropriate behavior for... Actually I don't even need to qualify it. She never got the memo about appropriate behavior period. I also guess that it wasn't a big topic of conversation around the Arias dinner table, what with all the kicking, shoving, belt-swinging, wooden spoon-flailing, and the constant accompaniment of a cruelly neglected dog's lonely howls. Jerks. (I've never believed the wooden spoon story. Wouldn't it have to be a really big spoon in order to generate more force than a basic slap? Maybe it was an "Everybody Loves Raymond" style decorative wall-spoon, and maybe Jodi's mom carried a duffle bag as a purse. Or maybe it was a regular-sized wooden spoon and Jodi's mom jabbed her with the end of the handle. Now that I think of it, though, did Jodi ever say that her mother actually hit her with the spoon? Maybe Mrs. Arias was getting a little early-onset dementia and just started carrying weird, random crap in her purse.)

Anyway, as always, I digress. Back to Jodi's behavior: there were moments, it seems to me, during her various interviews (48 Hours especially), the pre-accusation part of Detective Flores' interrogation (the let's-just-you-and-me-have-a-nice-friendly-little-chit-chat part), and even to some extent during and after the trial, when she morphs into Little Miss Manners. She just ends up looking deranged and creepy, in a Norman Bates sort of way. Someone really should tell her that artificial sweeteners are unhealthy and they have a bitter, unpleasant aftertaste.

Alas, poor Jodi. She wanted Norman Rockwell but ended up with Norman Bates. (OK, not great, but I couldn't resist. Maybe she was imagining Norman Rockwell After Dark? All those wholesome kids must have come from somewhere.) It's unlikely she ever saw the old SNL skit in which Tony Perkins discusses the Norman Bates School of Hotel Management, which is probably just as well, given her, um, propensities.

Then it's a very good thing that Bodney mentioned case law and that the judge is looking into it. Very smart move on his part.

For sure! It'll be very interesting to see how this plays out. Either way, I'll still be following. I honestly don't need to see the proceedings to stay on top of them.

So, the end of the week is here and still no ruling on camera coverage. Whats up with that?

It's very possible that the judge made her ruling but the judicial assistant hasn't filed it with the clerk yet. It usually takes a day or two for a ruling to make it to the online docket.

I think the word is "infamy", I think I saw a pic of CMJA right next to definition:

*the state of being well known for some bad quality or deed*

What should really be telling is all those sealed minutes and documents, and when they'll be "un-sealed".

Exactly...

Notorious as contrasted with notable and noteworthy.

Verbal skills are her stock-in-trade, so possibly a consequence of being of a well-practiced liar?

Only half of her stock -- the other half involves surgically enhanced anatomy, certain cosmetic alterations of her natural appearance, and conduct becoming a woman of ill-repute.

Hopefully this is okay to post in this thread. Can someone please post that picture of JA where she is seen in the reflection of the shower door while taking pics of Travis? Not the reflection of her in Travis' eye. It was specifically the shower door. I tried looking for it yesterday to no avail. Thanks in advance

Thanks TD...I couldn't remember the exact name. I see a pin-wheel. Glad to know that after all the hours I used to play with the Spirograph, I was actually creating Art. I guess that made me an "aspiring artist". [emoji4]

I also had a Mattel Creepy Crawlers/Thingmaker as I was a gifted 'sculptor', able to pour liquid into a heated mold and then cool and remove it.

Therefore, I request that you not execute me as I possess these skills which are both indispensable and irreplaceable, in fact veritably invaluable to a society in need of same.

I had never been to the lindaparis blog before, I found it very interesting and helpful. This stood out to me;

cut and pasted from blog

"The thing that puzzles me, is the trip from her MOTHER, to Mesa, in April, two months before the murder. Why did her mother fly out? She claims that her mother arrived to help her “pack the truck.” Call me crazy…but if I have furniture to move, a younger sibling might be a better, HELPER, than a woman in her fifties!!! I think that TRAVIS called her mother, to convince her to MOVE OUT, and MOVE ON!!! She and her mother, “fought” and the truck didn’t get packed. She didn’t NEED her mother as she moved from one house to another, just months before!! That doesn’t make sense, no matter what you believe. "http://lindapariscrimeblog.com/?p=358

Travis calling JA's Mother makes sense to me. I don't think she was so close to her mom that her mom would just fly out like that for no reason. Can you imagine what Travis told her on the phone that made her jump on a plane? I know that JA is her daughter, but I know I just can't believe anyone would feel ok with what her daughter did. She sat there, listening to what the defense was saying about TA in front of his family who were visibly shattered and grieving and even giggled and carried on with her own sister. I'll stop now. I'm just floored by this family.

Geez, when I review the sequence of those pics on the blog above, it is chilling. I hadn't seen the "blurry'Travis face pic prior to the crystal clear one. I can imagine the killer fumbling around for a knife, & what was going on in her head. Pure evil, at the point of no return. I am truly not convinced Travis knew she was still in his house. I think he thought the killer had left, on her way to SLC. My theory is she snuck back in & he didn't know it. My only question is, it appears the shower door is open., so he must have known she was there. That confuses me. I am also of the opinion that Travis didn't know she was coming to see him either. But the pics in the shower always trip me up as she couldn't have taken them through the shower door, & in her semi confession to Det Flores, (which I think her discussion with Flores did contain parts of the murder) she said the water pressure in that shower was low & they didn't have to worry about water getting on the floor. Thoughts?

JMO, but I think she snuck back in also and opened the shower door. Maybe he was washing his face or hair and was rinsing the soap. Maybe there was some music playing. He just didnt realize she was there at that moment. There could have been so many reasons.

As far as Jodi's mom, she is going along for the ride with the defense. She KNOWS her daughter. That is the reason she never got on the stand. Nurmi knew better. JM would have made mincemeat of her testimony.

I know she's going along for the ride for the defense. My point is what kind of mother or person does that? She was obviously alarmed enough to jump on a plane and rush over there for whatever reason. I could never look at those pictures of the slaughter and the evidence of premeditation and then take sides with anyone, no matter who it was. I couldn't stand to be in the same room as my daughter and I would be on my hands and knees praying for TA's family to find peace and closure, not sitting in court giggling and showing no respect for all involved. Sick sick sick in this family. And what are the younger siblings of JA learning? Shudder. We live in a crazy world.

Well the topic does go to allocution and redeeming qualities...

Yeah, the mom and aunt, I’ll never understand how their behavior was allowed. I know criminals have all the rights and protection, they can do and say (lie) whatever they want, whenever they want, but these two??? We wouldn’t want an appeal because CMJA’s family was not allowed to laugh. Maybe criminal rights extend to their families. I believe if the family of Travis Alexander behaved this way it would not be allowed. But then, Travis’ family has too much class, not mention intelligence to act this way.

She had decided to kill him prior to leaving Yreka.

She was not going to overcome him with brute force alone.

She needed the element of surprise, a ruse. She used his camera to photograph him in his shower. He suspected nothing.

She had to stab him. The killing needed to be close up, initimate, hands-on.

But she couldn't stab him through the door and she opened it -- so the pictures would be clear, of course -- or so she told him.

The chest stab was one of the initial wounds and he began to bleed out internally.

But she wasn't finished wounding and torturing him at that point, and so she continued stabbing and following and stabbing until she grew so annoyed at the noises he was still making -- how dare he remain alive, making those noises for those 100+ seconds when she wanted him dead!?! -- that she finally lifted his head by his hair and with all her strength drew that knife across his throat. Then she dragged him back to the bathroom with the presence of mind to recall Grandpa's stolen .25 caliber and silence his breathing and gurgling once and for all.

Evil?

The words evil, wicked, thoroughly depraved, shameless, etc. are all woefully insufficient to begin to describe the especially cruel lying torture-murderess who is Jodi Ann Arias.
