Retrial for Sentencing of Jodi Arias #2

She might try to escape, but I don't ever see anyone giving her a successful appeal, commutation, or pardon...

Parole will do, as well.

But you don't need parole if the judge lets you out from time to time.

John Hinckley, Jr. killed James Brady and shot the President of the United States.

Yet here he is.

She won't.

Not saying she won't kill again, though it's doubtful. But I'm just saying it's not wishful thinking to say Jodi Arias, who will receive at the very least a life sentence, will die in prison. Maybe she won't. But it's not like it's something that isn't real. She really was convicted and will be sentenced. I am very, very confident JSS won't give her LWP. I'd bet my life savings on it.
The only reason Charles Manson got his Death sentence commuted to life in prison was that California threw out the Death Penalty for awhile in the '70's. I don't see the state of Arizona doing that.

Again, Charles Manson comes up for parole- he was commuted to Life, not Life without Parole, yet he has never been paroled, nor will he ever.

I don't doubt it for a second.

I'd bet your life savings on it.

She will make the opportunity and she will succeed.

The really determined ones always do.

Even if it's only 'selficide' -- though she doesn't yet have the strength for that.

What is confirmed, what's happening????

ETA: ah, it's been confirmed that Vernon Parker is a Mormon bishop. Interesting. Sounds like Juan is trying to refute Jodi's claim that she had no idea what Mormons believe about sex and relied only on Travis, who misled her.

Here's a little bio on him (dated 1993):

D. Vernon Parker, 52, Woodcrest Ward, Riverside California West Stake; to serve in Riverside California and Victorville California regions; former multi-region director of public affairs, stake president and counselor, bishop, Young Men president, deacons quorum adviser, and Scoutmaster; corporate accounting manager; earned bachelor's degree from Weber State University and master's degree from the University of Utah; born in Montpelier, Idaho; married Marsha Eunice Curtis.

John Hinckley was found NG by reason of insanity. Jodi was convicted of first degree murder. Big difference. There's not even any procedure in place in AZ right now for first degree murderers to get paroled even if they get LWP. Jodi isn't going anywhere.

I don't think anyone ever pissed her off enough to kill the way Travis did. And he's already dead. I just can't see her being motivated enough to want to kill again.

I don't think she is too fond of JM and when he made some really damning points with the jury, the camera turned to Jodi just as she is drawing her finger across her neck which very much looked like a cutting of the throat. She had done it more than once and the link is on here somewhere. So I would not bet your life savings that she wouldn't. jmo

I wouldn't bet my life savings on it either. I said it was doubtful but who knows. My post said the bet of my life savings would be against JSS giving her LWP, if it came to that, of course. Not that she wouldn't kill again. And I think the dragging across the throat maneuver that so many saw was an exaggeration. I didn't see it.

Wishful thinking, as convicted murderers kill in prison, escape, have their sentences commuted, etc.

She will kill again.

I can't give you the date and time, but she will kill again. She may even hire it done.

I don't know if she personally will have the opportunity to kill again, hopefully not. But, there are plenty of crazy psychopathic killers out there, that she may at some point in time have connections with, if they are imprisoned with her and get out, or, through other prisoners who know them. I certainly wouldn't put it past her to solicit and manipulate one of these psychos into committing a murder for her. :moo:

I so enjoyed the horror/comedy show of last year.
My favorite of that genre is and always will be Shawn of the Dead. (Sorry. TOT*)

(*Totally Off Topic. I may have just made that up.)

Weird. I just had two thoughts simultaneously:
With what money?
Crazy fan club.

Yikes.

MeeBee, my concern is her chilling interview after she was convicted of first degree murder. When asked if she would kill again, she said that if she was abused or attacked again then yes, she would. We know Travis did not abuse or attack her. So this means her ability to reason is very skewed because she is a narcicisst. I truly believe she was on her way to kill again the very day she was arrested. She had a gun taped under the hood of her rental vehicle and two knives packed in the back seat. I believe she thought she got away with murdering Travis and she was on her way to kill the Hughes or Mimi and anyone else who got in her way. I think she might even kill in prison if anyone crosses her . If I saw her on the street, I would be very, very afraid. I also believe JM wanted to introduce the evidence of the gun and knives but JSS said it was too inflammatory. IMO, that information should have been given to the jury.

BBM. Not sure I've ever seen somebody be "ordered" to submit to a "voluntary" interview. :scared:

And I don't quite get the next sentence. Does this mean there are things that JM doesn't know about? Or just things that they can't discuss in the interview?

I agree there is no way JSS will give her LWP if it comes to that. She's seen this convicted killer close up and personal for months and months on end. She knows the killer has zero remorse, that the killer has done everything possible to cause Travis' family great pain, and that there really are NO relevant mitigating circumstances.

IMO , if it were up to her, JSS would give her the DP. I think this second jury will spare her having to make a decision anyway.

I'll be satisfied with the DP. (Even though I'm against it, but JA will never let TA rest in peace while she's alive. I do want her to stay alive long enough to get sued though.)
I'll be satisied with Life without Parole too..
The jury better not give her the posiibility of release though.

They can't. They're only deciding life or death. It's the judge that decides parole or no parole if the sentence is life.
