With Jodi's verdict, aren't the only options Natural life in prison or DP? I honestly don't believe Jodi believes she will ever see the light of day outside prison walls except for these field trips to court. She's bored and looking to amuse herself. Once this is over..... No more field trips, and solitary only.

Whatever happened to the tea and crumpet book club she was gonna start?

Seems like the potential jury pool is not interested in wasting 2 months of their time on this circus - I don't blame them.

Maybe The killer will be in the Big House permanently come Christmas - !!!!

I must be misunderstanding this 'impartiality' question, she's been convicted of premeditated murder and an aggravating factor, the jury will have to accept those verdicts - so what do they have to be impartial about? Shouldn't the questions center around whether or not they can decide between death and a life sentence, as that will be their only job?

I'm with you geevee, I don't get it. Maybe someone, AZlawyer will explain it. I mean it seems that would be the first question asked.

Well, that's what they have to be impartial about...life vs. death. I doubt anyone's asking them if they can be impartial about guilt vs. innocence.

I just realized that not one tweet contained that full question. What exactly is the judge asking them? No one has said.

Thanks, I had not considered they may have been asked about impartiality to either life or death. I assumed they were just asked something like, "Can you be fair and impartial?" And many were saying they could not. Which...didn't make a heck of a lot of sense.

A lot of people say they can't be fair and impartial just to get out of jury duty.

I wonder what percentage of the potential jurors that were excused were partial to death penalty vs life?
I'm not sure that could be asked?

Right, but usually that is a trial to determine guilt or innocence.

In this context, penalty only...the question, "Can you be impartial?" requires a qualifier, IMO.

I'll be live tweeting the #JodiArias trial for the duration. The thing about her is, there's nothing behind her eyes. #3TVArias

The jury pool should have been given a very brief overview of the case, but nobody tweeted about this from the courthouse. I might tweet one of them later and ask about it.

In my mind, a proper overview would be that the case is a murder case involving Jodi Arias as the defendant and Travis Alexander as the victim. The defendant has been found guilty of first degree murder and the upcoming trial is to determine her sentence.

Ok I think I get this. So they can be either for life or death? Either way. Meaning they have no problem with enforcing the DP? So in a roundabout way, they are being asked if they have a problem with the DP without actually being asked if they have a problem with the DP. Is this right???? Thank you AZlawyer so much for all your time!!!!!

Yes, they have to be life-qualified as well as death-qualified.
