I don't understand why the lawyers get so upset when Juan tells them to answer his yes or no questions with a yes or no and not to expound too much. That's what you're supposed to do in cross examination, right? Willmott did the same thing to Demarte, who said she couldn't answer a question with just a yes or no. So she didn't answer. Didn't hear Juan objecting going, "she won't let her answer!" That's what re-direct is for.

I have felt DF has done this purposefully. I think she can hear just fine. KN talks lower than Juan and she has no problem hearing him.

Now this is where I really get upset with JSS. JM should be able to ask for yes or no answers, if his questions can be answered that way. And JSS should instruct the witness. But she allows a witness to actually say "Mr Martinez, we're goiing to go at it, but you'll have to speak up I can't hear you." And JSS's response is to tell JM to allow her to finish her answers????

For this Dr. to tell JM that "we're going to go at it" sounds like a challenge to me. Doesn't sound like a professional response whatsoever. Juan can handle the likes of her.

Jury most likely doesn't know, or hasn't seen, the ALV fiasco that went down in court. So the comment "we will go at it" has to be an odd comment in the jurors mind and does not make her look good.
