A judge can't really say,"stop objecting"--due process of law and all that. However, I have seen judges say (while the jury is out), "Don't you see that the jury thinks you're hiding something? My advice is to keep the objections to a minimum," or, "Look, here's what hearsay means: [explains rule]. Please don't object again unless it fits within that definition."

LOL, I have seen Judges cut them off PDQ. They object and if he/she thinks it is repetitious they simply reply again and again 'overruled and move along.' It doesn't take the attorneys long to get the message. This is being done imo to disrupt Juan's flow of questions and answers he is getting from the witness.

There are some Judges who will not hold any sidebars when testimony is being held. The attorneys keep up with them throughout the day and after the day has ended for the jury the Judge hears them then and rules one way or the other. Most all Judges I have seen are very mindful of the jury's time and makes sure they are not left sitting there constantly while the attorneys are at sidebars.

JS does not have to allow a sidebar every 5 seconds. Doesn't she have a legal right to grant it or not? I have sure seen other Judges refuse a sidebar.

It sure doesn't work that way in many other states but Arizona seems to be in a league all of its on. I have been keeping up with trials for over 30 years and I have never seen one conducted like this one by the presiding Judge.

While I absolutely love Arizona, and my best friend is from Tucson, I will never watch another Arizona trial with JS at the helm. I refuse to believe that all Judges out there conduct their courtroom like she has done with every in chamber meeting granted and every sidebar granted.

This case has made me feel we are once again having trials behind closed doors/secrecy more than it being out in the open for the public to view. That I find scary.

IMO

Oh, I agree, there are definitely courtroom management skills that can minimize objections and interruptions without denying constitutional rights. JSS does not need to grant every sidebar. I think most AZ judges would run a tighter ship than this.

And I am extremely disturbed by how much has been placed under seal in this case.

Jodi doesn't care if the motions against Det. Flores and Mrs. Flores fail. She just loves seeing them getting "reprimanded" in court. IMO.
