I didn't say you dreamed anything up and I didn't mention social media. I understand you read this here and I have read it here too but from what I understand the idea that the Bishop was TA's mentor is only speculation. All we know about him for sure is that he is a Bishop from Cali and he doesn't seem to be willing to testify. I'm not trying to be rude. I'm just letting you know this.

Thanks. I don't remember ever saying it was fact. I only said I read it. I'm getting off now. You can take control.

I guess we'll know that right away if she closes the courtroom on sentencing day.

OMG Yes !

And ya know, I would NOT be surprised IF she were to pull some sort of "stunt" like this ... and she knows there would be a stampede to the courthouse !

:gaah:

So if the trial continues to be closed the only ones in the court room will Travis' family, right?

Yes, I agree. It is certainly a great balancing act. My opinion is that her needs were met in the first trial.

Her need and right in this sentencing phase is that any and all relevant mitigation evidence be presented. The Supreme Court has made clear this is a right.

Failure to provide available mitigation evidence is actually one of her few theoretical avenues for appeal.

In that context I can see this extremely cautious judge bending over very far backwards to accommodate mitigation witnesses. I also think she lost her balance yesterday in doing so......

But I didn't say you said it was a fact! I only asked you a question. I thought we were having a discussion about this and have no idea what I said that has offended you. So yeah...let's cool off...

Did the secret witness testify yesterday or was the jury dismissed after lunch?
If it was not dismissed, will they wait on the press appeals before they continue in secret?

Well now, that's a good question since JSS closed the doors and no one knows. We assume he/she did but since JSS wants this trial to proceed in secret we won't ever know what that testimony was.

My understanding is that the attorneys for the media filed a stay to halt all proceedings until their special action can be heard and decided.

From AZ Central -- there is a video with a snippet from Beth Karas:

What happened Thursday in the Jodi Arias sentencing retrial is anyone's guess. The Arizona Republic, 12 News and other media outlets filed a special-action appeal with the Arizona Court of Appeals late Thursday seeking to solve the mystery.

...

Stephens was unyielding.

"I am aware of the First Amendment," she told attorney Chris Moeser, who represented the journalists.

I agree, and I wonder if this judge continues to keep this trial closed, then the only ones in the court room will be Travis' family. How is this going to be explained to the jury?

For all we know, the jury may have been sent home because the witness refused to testify in front of a jury.

(OK, I am being facetious...I do that when I'm frustrated by things totally out of my control.)

rsbbm...

"The public and media were ejected from the courtroom, the cameras taken down. The testimony went forward behind locked doors, leaving nothing but speculation as to who was on the witness stand."

So the mystery witness testified yesterday and continues this morning?

Ok you guys I've got a bit of "twintrigue" going on that I want to lay out for you (twitter intrigue, I just made it up). It involves a Jodi supporter who at least appears to be sitting in the courtroom and me busting her/him on twitter this am and there are some verrrrrrrry interesting things going on. Hang on, I'm gonna lay this out in a way that hopefully is easy to follow. Just a quick heads up.

:seeya: Hi there !

I think there would be a "riot" down at the courthouse IF JSS tries to keep this trial closed ... seriously !

And yes, WHAT do you tell the jury ?

I wonder WHAT the jury is thinking ? Do the jurors realize that "top secret mystery witness testimony" is UNconstitutional ? Probably NOT !!!!!

:gaah:

I've been following with interest a particular tweeter who goes under the handle @justice4jodiann

He/she posts courtroom observations like they are factual but opposing the majority of the other verified tweeters in there. Observations on the Alexanders (always caustic) and the jury (always like they are for Jodi) and the players (highly against Juan Martinez).

What has interested me about this poster is that it appears, to me, that they are in the courtroom daily.

This means one of 3 things:

1. They are part of the media but flying under the radar and not identifying themself.

2. They are part of Jodi's family or friends (who are very limited in there).

3. They are courtroom staff.

I have asked this tweeter repeatedly throughout the week simple questions like "are you sitting in the courtroom right now?". Although they are a very vociferous voice on twitter, they have ignored this question, asked multiple times 100%.

But they are tweeting as a courtroom observer. Yet hiding. I'm just curious how they've gotten in there...until this showed up this morning....hang on let me get it.jodiscreenshot.jpg

Um, WHOA! I just went to your twitter to check it out.

That appears to a. be someone who's been in the courtroom observing.

b. someone who posts in the identical vitriolic/passive aggressive yet formal style as @justice4jodiann .

c. Someone who wanted their own words deleted IMMEDIATELY from that forum where they were posted (see the all caps post at the bottom)

d. Someone who believed JODI ARIAS was to be "speaking to the jury" yesterday afternoon.

It is my belief that that person IS seated in the courtroom and DOES have a direct connection to Jodi/her defense. And that they are hiding it for some reason.

To be fair, they might be afraid to out themselves as they are posting nasty volatile things about Travis' family and clearly are afraid of being seen publicly for that.

But I also know they were all over me like white on rice denying it was them WHILE knowing where that screen shot came from (I did not and do not--I just saw it show up on twitter and was like WHOA)

BBM: Just jumping off your post here:

Religion should have NEVER been brought up in this trial ... it has absolutely nothing to do with the murder of Travis, IMO !

All JMO and :moo:

I agree completely, DGC. How dare this *promiscuous from her early teens/lying/cheating/manipulating/stalking/tire-slashing/torturing murderer* who was Mormon herself use religion to justify the slaughter of an innocent man!

And if her lawyers believe that they won't be accountable to a higher power for the vile things they have done to the victim and his family simply because it was part of their jobs then they are sadly mistaken.
