Retrial for Sentencing of Jodi Arias - Day 7

I think it will be. It will be a victory for Travis' family.

I don't think anyone will be celebrating but will think finally justice is done after his family waiting 6 years for this moment.

I don't think anyone considers this case as entertainment.

I want what the Alexanders want and they certainly aren't in this for the entertainment.

JA loss of life is no concern to me. That may be harsh but that is honestly how I feel.

The loss of life was referring to Travis. The waste of life was referring to Jodi. That's what it is. A complete waste of a pretty, intelligent young woman who's disordered mind turned her into a killer. That's a shame.

I think we all know there's no surprises coming. That's just obvious and I don't think we need to be told that. She's going off to prison for the rest of her life anyway. But there are many here myself included, who feel the death penalty would be justice. I won't kick up a fuss if she gets life. I won't mourn Jodi Arias if she gets death. But it is such a shame, IMO. Seeing the death penalty won't make me happy. It'll be a relief, but it's still sad what she became.

I'm not here for surprises or for fun. I wish I never heard the name Jodi Arias. But I'm in it now. I want to see justice done.

:great: I'm so glad Jen is heading over there !

:happydance: Hopefully she will give us updates from there !

Question:

Does anyone know IF the media will be allowed to tweet from the Court of Appeals Hearing ?

Thanks !

It is anti-climactic because whether she gets the DP or not, the outcome is the same:

- going to the same prison
- living in the same size cell
- will spend the rest of her life there, and it will be without any chance of parole

The only difference will be if her appeals are paid for by the state or not. If she gets the DP it will be paid for by the state. If not, she'll have to fund those herself.

Either way here's the actual outcome: she will spend the rest of her life at Perryville and will not be executed, even if she is given a DP sentence.

And here's another statistic: if she's given a DP, then she'll actually be safer in prison because she'll be housed in a different unit. If she gets LWOP she'll be subject to whatever violence may come her way being a part of the prison population, notorious, and a lifer.

Either way, not a sentence anyone would relish.

This is why I'm ok with LWOP. However, LWP would not make me happy at all, because we all know she planned this massacre.

?
Will CMJA be at the Court of Appeals hearing, seeing how this has to do with her case?

Seems some of the media is parked outside the appellate court, it may indicate we will know today, if it is a go or not.

So ... the appellate court will either agree with JSS's decision -- or -- they will overturn it ...

But ... IF the appellate court overturns JSS's decision, will Nurmi appeal that decision to the Arizona Supreme Court ?

:gaah:

It's not the hearing that's sealed, this is saying that the hearing is in regards to sealed Jodi Arias courtroom.

@monicalindstrom: Just walked by a third of the #JodiArias jury outside a Starbucks, hmmmmm

And?

I understood the hearing was open via telephonic device. I think the sealed Jeff mentions is the trial itself, but who knows.

#JodiArias When we can't rely on our constitutional rights we no longer have the freedoms our forefathers fought so hard for!

#JodiArias Lets hope the Appellate Court enforces the Constitution and overturns the public and media blackout!

@janal811 Always a chance for #Justice. Closing courtroom to public requires pretty good reason. So far I see none for #JodiArias herselfg.

:seeya: Thank You, MeeBee ! I corrected my original post !

:gaah: I misread it !

I wonder what the jury has been told about today. "Members of the Jury, you may have noticed the empty courtroom on Thursday during testimony. We are just slipping over to the Appeals Court to hear whether we can do this, or not. Be back soon". ???

My question for the lawyers -

If it is as you guys suspect and the witness is simply outside of JSS's jurisdiction, will the appeals court have no choice but to uphold her ruling?

I'm also not so sure anymore that's what it is. A tweet by Troy Hayden implied the judge was inquiring Nurmi about sealing off his whole case. Surely all the witnesses cannot be outside the jurisdiction?

Is it too late for the family to request that the DP option be dropped? It seems to me, IF the reports are true that they want this over, now.....that would be the quickest solution. Could JSS then give her pet LWP? No jury needed, right?

I can't help but think back to the first trial. I wish JA would have been just sentenced by the judge to LWOP THEN. JSS isn't and won't give her LWP.

Putting this part of the trial off for so many months has just raised the bar for all of JA's crazies. It's given her more time to manipulate people, to sell art, auction off glasses ect... and more time to corrupt more and more psychotic supporters. I cannot for the life of me understand why people would want to support a calculating cold blooded killer, much less send her money

This is the first time in her pathetic life that she's EVER had any friends, or money for that matter.

It breaks my heart that Travis' life has been forgotten. Sadly, now it has become the Jodi show. It's all about her now. Just like it's always been her head. :furious:
