??? Not sure who you are referring to. Surely not Nurmi's slow speech? He shows no other signs of CP. I have a brother with CP, and had a cousin with a milder version. I have been around a lot of CP individuals and none talk like KN, if that is who you meant. Halting speech, guttural sounds, but not a similar slowness. If not, I am confused and must have overlooked a post. thanks

I am typically not pro-death penalty but I make exceptions such as the Manson Murderers and definitely the Arias case.

However, a part of me almost wishes they would have given her life without the possibility of parole and this would have been over with. I feel so sorry for Travis' family. They have been through pure hell. I hate Arias and she didn't personally do anything to me. I can't imagine what Travis' family feels. They have to keep seeing her ugly, murderous mug. This has to conclude!

I understand that under AZ law the judge could not have sentenced the killer to Life after the hung jury, unless the state had been willing to take the death penalty off the table. If, however, this jury hangs, that's it...it is a life sentence given by the judge.

ETA: I apologize as I believe I misunderstood the OP. I thought it said the judge should have...but it does not say that at all. Sorry.

Most people I've know who speak in that manner have Cerebral Palsey. Could be other condition as well.

I thought he perhaps had had a stroke.

IMO

We are here because Juan said no to Jodi and company's threat if the state didn't want to settle for manslaughter with Jodi getting out, she'd trash Travis. Then there are the forged pedo letters Jodi faked. He mother triad to sell them to the national enquirer national. And they were copies. Said the originals were destroyed.

If they hang this time she has two options. 1) 25 years to life with the possibility of parole or 2) LWOP.

Appellate court heard argument in public (imagine such a thing lol) at 11 am IIRC. Secret trial was suspended because Nurmi and JM needed to go to the Ct App for that argument. Secret trial may have resumed at 1:15 pm. Ruling from Ct App came down at 3 pm staying enforcement of the order closing the courtroom. The merits of the special action are scheduled for consideration Nov. 25.

JM, Nurmi and JSS couldn't immediately agree how to handle the 1st Amendment going forward, so trial is off until Wed. at 10 am for them to think. Hearing tomorrow at 1:30 re: same.

Didn't they just have 3 days to think about this?

She doesn't miss him. Not in the least. She doesn't even respect his memory. The lies she told during the trial about Travis sexually attracted to children is sickening and something she never could have even thought to do, let alone gone through with it, if she missed him or had any real feelings.

I keep watching the interrogation tapes and I find it so disgusting when she wants Flores to show her the pictures, she wanted to see her handy work, she wanted to get off on seeing his slaughtered body.

She doesn't miss him, she hates him.

Right. He is gone, dispatched by her hand. She moved on immediately and easily put him out of her mind, or would have had it not been for this pesky trial.

I agreed with you as this is how I feel 32 years later. Also, strangers murdered my brother. It is probably harder when you know the killer or the killer is known to the victim(s). It is an individually painful process and the survivors all handle things differently. No one in my life ever asks me if I thought about my brother or the murderers today. You just keep moving forward as best you can. JMV

Thanks Zuri!

Sharon Rocha & Ron Grantski have said in interviews they think about Lacy & Connor and do not put their energy on the killer. I believe them. I hope the Alexanders will someday be able to spend their energy on Travis, Travis' memory, Travis' good deeds and not have to worry about Travis' killer. I really hope it happens for them.

Those are kind words, and I wanted to thank you. :)

She tried to hold her own with Martinez AND still claim that "men like you or Travis" scramble her brain. The problem with her going toe to toe with Martinez is he knows her lies better than she does. He probably sees her forming the next one in her head before it comes out of her mouth. She is most definitely NOT his equal.

Oh, she is nowhere near his equal. But in her head she is. Not only his equal, but his superior. Psychopathic delusions - they are smarter than EVERYONE else. ALWAYS.

http://www.deathpenaltyinfo.org/death-row-inmates-state-and-size-death-row-year

Current number of prisoners on death row in CA as of July 2014: 743
Number of prisoners on death row ahead of Scott Peterson (counting men & women) is somewhere in the neighborhood of 640.
No prisoner has been executed in California since January 2006

Relating this back to Arias: no woman has been executed in AZ in over 80 years. 2 women are ahead of Arias and have been on death row for a couple decades. Therefore, in essence, they are spending LWOP in Perryvale prison. The best Arias can possibly hope for is life in prison.

Not a life I would ever want for myself or anyone I know. There's nothing easy about life in prison, from everything I've heard about Perryville.
