Retrial for Sentencing of Jodi Arias - Day 9

Does that happen? I mean, do judges get nudges from other judges--either at their own request or because someone finally looks at things and determines it is time to say something?

In civil court an administrative judge " oversees "all judges, and will/does step in (privately) if a court room veers out of control. ( my DH does civil litigation). Not positive that's so for criminal court in AZ but strongly suspect it is. Can check their website to confirm.

Added: yep. Maybe including the Court Services Division of the Court's Administrative Office. They track case resolution time by a standard.

96% of AZ felony cases are resolved within 365 days (pretrial thru sentencing ).

JSS's case obviously is an example of the exclusive 4% club.

OK, I'm still a little confused. We know the virus was on the computer when it was shut down at the scene and JM says the virus was active between May28th and Jun10th. When forensics did the initial image copy, there was no 🤬🤬🤬🤬 but it was infected w/virus and malware. Then the laptop was activated by defense in 2009, and per Nurmi's claims 1,000's of files were deleted, etc. on that date and it's history showed those 🤬🤬🤬🤬 site links.

If the virus was active in days before and after TA's death, why was there no 🤬🤬🤬🤬 or deletions in the initial image copy?

And if there were links to those 🤬🤬🤬🤬 sites in 2014, wouldn't Nurmi's examiner be able to see the dates of those links and know it was in 2009 if that's when all this occurred?

I also notice that JM is asking for the defense's image copy, is he asking for the image copy for what state it's in now? And will JSS order that be turned over to JM?

And maybe this is something for AZLawyer, but would the attorneys normally make a note of this 2009 incident and virus activity that happened on their watch? Would they have been obligated to advise the PD that this had happened when they powered it up?

My guess would be that they've been there all along (since May 28, 2008) but have flown under the radar because they're not relevant. For instance, forensics examiners have presumably been asked to look at Travis' activity, files, etc. - things that he's chosen to do. What's happened in the background, due to viruses and/or anti-virus programs, has never been relevant because Travis isn't responsible for (and most likely didn't even know about) these background activities. It would be like looking at a car engine to determine if someone is a good or bad driver.

Today will be Second Verse Same As the First: I ALV sister I am, ALV sister I am I am, I've been.... you get my drift.....

In our biased mental retardation appeal, the AG took that Judge to the AZ Supreme Court with a special action to get her recused for YEARS of siding, in such an extreme obvious manner, with the defense (murderers on death row) and we were denied. It's not easy to get sanctions on a Judge, at least here in AZ.

This hearing by the way was held at the ASU Law College with hundreds in attendance and lasted a couple of hours and i had to testify.

That family have been through so much, I can imagine that the frustrations just build and build until they explode. JA said that she would destroy them and she surely is trying.

Judge is looking over other matters. Willmott & Martinez in court, no Nurmi yet. Travis' family is entering courtroom. #JodiArias

by the way, NO ONE thinks Travis Alexander was a pedophile, with the exception of Jodi Arias who's pathology literally causes her to believe lies as they change moment by moment and perhaps a local reporter who has fallen down the rabbit hole so hard he's willing to believe any possible terrible thing about the victim in this case and propogate it in the courtroom like it's some kind of "truth". Other than those two, no one believes he was a pedophile. The rest are just using whatever preposterous whatever they can get away with for their own professional or personal reasons.

Uh oh, could Samantha's talking to reporters bring up another motion.

Maybe I am confused here ...

But how come it is okay for CMJA to Tweet -- which IMO is her BFF MDL tweeting ...

But yet the VICTIM'S FAMILY cannot speak the TRUTH about their murdered brother ?

:gaah:

Thought I'd start it off for you doggonecute:smile:

Mod note: Please stop bashing, (whether through visual graphics, derogatory terms or name variations, etc) case players and posters on other sites. As an aside, I have seen some sexual innuendo and jokes, on the other thread, and it needs to cease.

Good morning!

The defense really had to dig deep to come up with this new “expert”. How can anyone--laymen, professional or expert--knowing the facts in this trial, agree to sit and regurgitate CMJA’s lies? This “expert” testified yesterday about prostitution--I wonder if she sees the irony in her testimony.

It’s scary to think that these defense “experts” are actually practicing in the mental health field. The fact that they sell themselves to the likes of KN and CMJA speaks volumes to me about their professional integrity and character. There is not enough money in China that would convince me to publicly put my professional reputation at risk for anyone, much less a convicted murderer with a long history of lying.

This defense team is about as sleazy as they come--I sure hope the Karma bus has enough seats for each and every one of them.

I bet sanctions against judges anywhere are exceedingly rare. Difficult enough to hold counsel accountable.

Political pressure and considerations tho are a different cup of tea.

And, also, it wasn't about any sealed proceedings. She was only talking about her beloved brother and the FACT that he was not a pedophile.

Peeps weigh in: for defense expert in #JodiArias trial is Travis Alexander now T-Dog, T-Dogg, T-Dawg... ?

LOL How about No-Dog today.

I won't be able to consistently post tweets today, will be away from the computer for lengths of time, possibly after the lunch break I may be able to though.

Don't forget folks: you can follow along on Twitter right in your web browser without having to have a Twitter account.
Here are two Twitter lists that have only relevant JA sentencing phase retrial posts on them:

https://twitter.com/azfamily/lists/arias/

https://twitter.com/eversnark/lists/arias-penalty-retrial

eta: Well, as relevant as it gets. This is Twitter. People post about shoes and sandwiches even if they're Tweeting from the courtroom.

Once a murderer is sentenced to death, the real craziness begins. Appeals will follow one another that totally contradict. #jodiarias
