There would also be word on the street …..(crew room) - whether these Pilots always operated within the companies standard operating procedures. Some will cut corners, bend the rules and take chances for example flying into bad weather when they should have returned. Pilot's do not like delays and can in some cases push the envelope. I would imagine interviewing other crew members who have flown with these 2 would be interviewed as well. We have to take a Crew Resource Management Course - yearly. This is designed for all crew to be able to interact and feel comfortable in discussing issues that arise in flight. I can remember working for an airline whereby the Captain was Muslim ….FO Hindi and the FE was Christian, don't bring up religion in the flight deck.

A guy on ABC radio was just talking about this Crew Resource thing. He was saying one pilot was Indonesian and one French, so he queried how good their communication would be in an emergency.

I remember all the times they spotted possible debris from MH370.

Hopefully, something has been found and there will be a swift closure for the families. Prayers.

Watching CNN continuous coverage, they say nothing about that.

They are holding onto hope that the plane somehow managed to land on one of the many islands. Understandable, and I hope with them!

But what about pings? Is there nothing right now that could indicate the location of the aircraft?

Can someone knowledgeable please clarify these terms, locator beacon, pings, waypoints, radar, etc?

I wonder why no mention on CNN about these objects?

When you think about it - these guys - normally 2 of them sit in a very small area together for maybe 8 hours (not in their case) - so conversation comes up - and I can tell you I have heard screaming matches outside the flight deck. I can remember taxiing off the apron …aircraft stops ……FO says to the CAPT …I'm not f&&&&ing flying with you - and we return back to blocks. In other countries you may find that due to nationality/religion crew do not feel that they can communicate with the other pilot i.e. not speak up for themselves, and feel compelled to do exactly with the Capt is instructing, knowing that they are wrong. This has been demonstrated and documented through Air Crash Investigation documentaries. It became mandatory (not sure what year) that crew take a CRM course yearly to bridge the gaps in communication and feeling confident to take over an aircraft if necessary. This sort of example would happen more so in other countries rather than Australia from my experience. The bigger the aircraft the bigger the ego.

Yes, we are getting the reports now too ...

An Indonesian official says objects have been spotted in the sea by an Australian search plane hunting for the missing AirAsia jet.

"However, we cannot be sure whether it is part of the missing AirAsia plane," Putranto says, "We are now moving in that direction, which is in cloudy conditions."

I also am seeing some reports of unconfirmed reports wreckage found BUT well it's just too soon and too sketchy. Try straitstimes.com

Other obvious spoofs of wreckage found circulating also. Those spoofing should be arrested.

Suspicious objects sighted 160 km SW of Pangkalan Bun .. the red dot on this map ... but they are about 1120 kilometres from the location where the plane lost contact, a long way away. The plane would not have gone straight down, surely, if this is wreckage - even if it has been tossed around by wild seas.

As per SBS (reliable Aust. govt-funded media).

Ch24 TV News (ABC) now also reporting objects seen by Orion.

Oceanographer on Ch24 TV News saying this is one of the dirtier parts of that ocean. A lot of plastic and cut fishing nets tend to make their way into this sea.

Hoping that whatever they have seen is of a substantial size - though you would think that it would be in those turbulent conditions - significant enough to be part of a plane.

Oceanographer also says the turbulence in the water will send objects to the bottom quite quickly, but then those objects will resurface again further away ... going with the wash/current.

IIRC yesterday they were saying the current goes in that direction. Don't know how fast the current is but the direction from the supposed area where the plane went down would be right.
