The RUMOR I just heard from a friend in Rhode Island is that they arrested a different man with the same name.

Again, that is just a RUMOR.

Police are still looking for a 22-year-old man they said kidnapped a 2-year-old boy after a double homicide in Johnston, R.I., according to a Massachusetts State Police spokesman.

A man arrested around 12:30 p.m. today in Fall River, who State Police had said was involved in the homicides and kidnapping, has no relation to the crimes, State Police spokesman David Procopio said this afternoon.

Johnston Police said this morning Malcolm W. Crowell, kidnapped 2-year-old Isaih Perez from 3 Oaktree Drive in Johnston around 5:20 a.m. after a double homicide.

He later backtracked and would only say he was told the man in custody wasn't involved in the child's disappearance.

He wouldn't confirm it was C.

C's name and photo have been removed from the Amber Alert.

It sounds like at this point he was falsely accused of a horrific crime.

Uhmm this is messed up. Fall River area is my home turf and I gotta say I have always had a dim opinion of the state police in the area (southeastern mass) and, well, now it's even dimmer. :facepalm:

Except I guess, who messed this up? RI police? Mass state police? FR police? Did they put the wrong picture with the suspect's name?!

Yes I'm guessing since 2 people were killed in the house it was likely one or both of his parents.

I'm wondering who CALLED LE to begin with and how they found the bodies.
Was there another person in the house that wasn't supposed to be that hid from the suspect?
Or did a neighbor hear gunshots and go over there and then call LE?

I looked through the former suspects facebook and there was a couple of "Perez" but none mentions Isaih. (Common name of course.)

So sad!!! The time of morning this happened, I think that there was an altercation. suspect went too far, and couldn't leave toddler there. Probably took the child to a freind or families house.. I am thinking there is no intent to harm the child here. In my neck of the woods, there was just a guy who did kill a couple of people and did go to work that day. He was arrested w/in hours and was behind the counter of a local fast food restaurant. just a week or two ago. mmm... some people just do not have a conscience.

Prayers for Isaih!!! Friends please come forward!!!!!

i just saw a fb post about this and it shows MC as the suspect. i came here to get more info and now i am a million times more confused. lol.

LE needs to hold a presser and clear things up!

Ok this headline and article makes it sound like C. Might be a suspect in the murder, but is uninvolved in the abduction of Isaih.
