Very calm behaviour. Do first responders’ vehicles routinely have high-quality, forward-facing cameras?
Good point about the behavior.

His physique is giving strong chunky, vibes and possibility of being obese by medical definition. He does not vibe "heavy, but light on his feet" to me at all.

If he used public transit, he may habitually favor the easier stations that feature elevators.

Doubtful. Most colleges don't have that. Frankly, I think it would be a logistical nightmare, especially with college students. Plus, it wouldn't be hard for a bad actor to foil it, saying, "Oh, I forgot my ID can you hold the door?"
Dorms might, but classroom buildings? Much less likely, unless they're handling very sensitive information or items.

Imagine if the suspect is actually innocent 😵‍💫
I don't know that this is very likely at all. This man was acting very suspicious before and lingering around the exact building that a shooting takes place in and then just walks away. The people in the classroom described him as having a mask on and in black. I think it's safe to say it's him. If they had footage of any other person in black with a mask, I'm sure they would be sharing that also. He seems to be the only one right there before and after the shooting.

I'm very curious why he was so defensive about one person being mentioned. This person was tipped in it seems and they don't even want to talk to him? Says they need help IDing the suspect, but then says leave that up to us.
It’s one of those trial-by-social-media situations and the name is mentioned whenever the FBI posts anything about this shooting. It’s more than “this person was tipped in”.

Yes! There’s one clip of someone – either the POI or someone who walked into the street later – running. There’s another of him running closer to the camera. In the latter, he’s running very comfortably and that surprised me. Looks like an entirely different person. (I’m not saying it’s the wrong person, just that the running is fluid.) And, as you say, why the running, so long before the shooting?
When he “ran away” from the person that just felt weird but in the other clip where he was “running” I have 2 theories as either he was trying to fit in and not look suspicious by running or he was practicing timing if he needed to run.

If it wasn’t cold that day, he would’ve been eyed at by the residents as he looked suspicious especially the weird hands behind back pose.

a lot of people in the classroom where the attack took place- some of them may not have good memories but some will have vivid memories of what he looked like, clothing, etc.

Do they understand why he stopped shooting and left when he did?

My guess is he ran out of ammo. Probably fired one magazine, ran dry, and left.

Or maybe he didn't find his target and wanted a second shot at them so he had to escape the shooting alive and uncaptured.

I can't be the only person who thinks he took his own life shortly afterwards, whoever he is.
I have to admit that never even occurred to me. Should have. Strange.

Definitely possible.

Moo... Maybe there was no target, just an easy shoot. If you yell... doesn't need to be any particular word..people for a moment will look towards the sound...makes for easier targets. Every mass shooter..I believe has been identified. So if you can pull off a public shooting n not get identified. That is a one up.....kinda like a competition..moo

Agree, the most curious footage is at 14:16 where it looks like he sees someone, runs away, and then that someone chases him. Am I seeing things?

No.

i tend to doubt he took his own life shortly after. he fled the scene. he wasn't about to be caught and frankly still isn't. and we've seen no signs he had any personal connection with anyone in the class that might have motivated a M/S situation.

Public transit in Rhode Island is mainly buses, although there's been a train that goes to Boston. Access is mainly at ground level. To the best of my recollection, there are no public transit facilities with elevators, except at the airport. If he's from Rhode Island, or adjacent areas in Connecticut or Massachusetts, he probably has a car. It's hard to live without one.

look at the previous post and go to the video timestamped 14:16
Someone said up thread, they noticed that he ran from a woman 2:16 is the capture of the woman walking down the street with what appears to be a white book bag or backpack slung over her right shoulder. She passes the street and if you look close, he is looking or watching her cross the street. So, IMHO this is a student or former student. That would mean he thought she would or could recognized him. Where is she and why is she not speaking up? What time did the class start? Could this be the girl he killed? Could this be a stalker situation, maybe infatuation? If he is a stalker, did he choose the school because the girl choose that school? Maybe high school stalker? I would be looking at former classmates and or neighborhood kids of the beautiful girl that was killed. May she RIP.

nope

and i think the most natural read of him running and the other person chasing is that he and the second person recognized each other. and in light of later events, the fact that the second person was not found dead on the sidewalk suggests it was someone he didn't want to harm.

so... middle-aged guy in a college town, someone local knows him, and he spares that person despite possibly being the one who later shot a room full of other students? ... i think the POI is the parent of a current or former student. and his child is the one who ran after him.

I don't know after seeing that he was in the area at 1030 and then all these videos of him just circling around various streets for 2 hours, it seems he was waiting for something or someone. He chose that class and that time for a reason. It doesn't make any sense to wander around for that long being seen by people and cameras unless he had something specific in mind.

IMO

I don't think the other person is chasing him. I think that is him and he stops behind the bushes and then runs. That is him running, he's the only one running.

BTW, reports indicate Ella Cook went to Mountain Brook High School. Graduation photos for the class of 2023 can be found at this link. There were 326 graduates.
