RI - Mass Shooting at Brown University - Providence 13 Dec 2025

Wonder if we’ve got a husband and wife situation, like San Bernardino.
I thought of that couple too.

But that makes targeting the classroom even harder to understand.

Listening to the presser and not hearing anything particularly new.

I’m sorry, but I simply do not believe that law enforcement is going through all this time and effort to disseminate photos of someone who is merely thought to be a witness.

What is that person going to tell you that you haven’t already gleaned from camera footage, survivors, and other witnesses?

This press conference will be very telling, especially considering these reporters have no qualms about asking hard questions.

Also!!!!
Authorities said that
the next Press Conference would be held only
IF there were important news.

Anybody remembers it?
I do.
It was said during the last presser about...ummm... the released guy.

There is a video that shows the back of the building and possible escape route. If you want to watch it, search for Paul Mauro walks through Brown University killer's escape route.

Lol. Chief shrugs when asked if second person could become a person of interest. Yeah, that's where this is going.

Sorry if I missed it, but is suspected that the witness they're trying to ID is also the same person who ran after the POI?

I think the news is the image of Person #2. We at WS already knew about the new image drops, but most people probably didn't, and the presser gets that info out wider.

But, I wish the news was of an arrest.

I feel like there’s only two real explanations for the new person they are looking for 1. They truly have nothing else grasp onto this it’s sort of a Hail Mary or, probably more likely 2. They have reason to believe that this person is involved or if not involved knows more about the shooter (like knows them personally) than just being a random person who walked by them

They didn't say that but based on the photos they have released and the video we saw yesterday of him running and a person then running in the direction he went, and the photo is at the same location that we see that person running. it leads me to believe this is that person.

Posting this very short video from GHI. 12m

The "BREAKING! 2 suspects" is just his take on things. But he zeroes in on the footage with running.

Does anyone know what time the review session started? Not sure if that has it been mentioned. Asking because this video made me wonder if he was roaming around the neighborhood waiting for the target to walk by, which explains why he’s there a couple of hours before. It’s possible he spotted them (may even be the person he ran away from in the video), and then followed them to the classroom. Then he possibly waited until the class was almost over (IIRC the shooting occurred near the end), so there were more people milling about and he wanted to have a crowd to lose himself in. This crowd wouldn’t exist if the classes were currently in session. That also might explain why he let off a couple of shots before entering but didn’t seem to hit anyone - that insured that there was chaos right from the gate.

I am not convinced: large hands, shoulders wider than hips- still looks male to me. from this angle, however, this person does not look portly at all. just IMO, because people do disguise themselves.

This is ANOTHER person!!!
NOT the alleged suspect in original video.

This is a person
an alleged suspect met in the street/crossed paths with.

I am confident they have a lot more video footage than they showed and I think they were careful to not release anything to scare the 2nd person off fully. Well, the one video they released and then removed had the running after the suspect clip that they later didn't include in the video they reshared. but I think they want this 2nd person to believe they aren't in trouble. It's possible they don't have anything to do with what happened, but I am leaning toward them definitely thinking person 2 knows who person 1 is. I think they might have interactions on camera they haven't shown to us and that leads them to think person 2 knew what was going to happen.

For that particular snippet of footage (of the POI behind a distant railing), watch the timestamp as the footage plays. It's smooth up until 2:16:28 pm (meaning 2:16 and 28 seconds), then jumps to 2:16:36. Eight seconds of footage are missing. At 2:16:36, we get a frozen frame playing for a couple of seconds, during which the timestamp is static. Then, we get smooth footage from 36 seconds past. The edit and the missing eight seconds make things harder to interpret.

motion-activated cameras time out after a certain amount of time (30 seconds or so -- sometimes it's a user setting), and go off until they're triggered again. i'm guessing that's what happened with our 8 seconds of missing footage.

i am guessing the long frozen frame at 2:13:36 is just the camera's recording or playback features being clunky or needing time to buffer. my cameras do stuff like that. though this might be moot, depending on how the owner got the recording to the police.

if you extrapolate the speed and direction of the two people you see before the break, you see two people after the break in roughly the right positions. if you watch the far left of the frame after the 8-second break, you can see someone behind the trees about where you expect the original POI to be. and top-center you see someone emerge from behind the trees about where the 2nd individual is expected. then the top-center person turns and runs down the side street. ... IMO, they're the same people, 8 seconds further along their paths.

He says there are no dash cams in cruisers.

I think the journalist’s question related to the suspect walking past a police car.

Thank you for the response. I had wondered because it looks like the person in the video (albeit the grainy video) had a white bag with two straps and the person in the photo has a whitish bag with one strap (perhaps more of a sling bag) or large purse. Given the confusion about a bag the POI may have had, I wonder if they had some sort of hand off.

Surely someone will recognize Person #2.

Fingers crossed.

Unless he ditches his jacket and mask, along with some kind of Santa belly prosthetic and has a different appearance.
bbm

the one certainty in this case is that guy is no longer in possession of that jacket

I think that's their best bet. The photo is much clearer, and if you find that person, I think you find the shooter.

I don’t think there was a direct hand-off, at least. The timing is wrong for that. I think there was probably some sort of other interaction they had (one chasing the other, for instance) that leads police to wonder… well, why?

i'm 80% sure someone will recognize person #2, and 70% sure she knows the POI. so something like 50-50 our perp will be identified fairly soon, after all.

Journalist asks, Can you remind us why you think this is the shooter or suspect?

He says there is enough evidence for them to believe so.
