She went to the police almost immediately, but the case stalled with little to go on beyond the girl’s painful memories from that night in December. Then, in March, the girl’s mother found a video of her daughter being sexually assaulted that one of the perpetrators had posted on Facebook."

Well just damn. What in the world? Can you imagine being that poor girl's mother? The absolute pure anger and rage. Her young daughter, scared, angry and hurting...

I hope those perpetrators get a huge time in jail. I just can't stop shaking my head and saying bad words. Arrggghhh.

IMO, this will take that poor girl a good while to get over it. Closing her eyes to sleep when she gets in bed at night?? Can you imagine what goes through her head? And the pure pain and hurting she must have endured and well may still feel even now. And perhaps permanent damage?
And going back to school -- it had to be very difficult for her to walk into a classroom and sit down, multiple times... Can you imagine it?

So now their DNA can be loaded into CODIS. I bet this isn’t their first assault either. It will be interesting to see how many crimes will be solved as a result.

The police said six men — Keith Erving Colon, 24; Jose Vargas, 18; Carlos Chacon, 19; Malcolm Baptista, 18; Luis A. Cabrera, 18; and Luis Luna, 19 — were arrested last week and charged with assault with intent to commit sexual assault and conspiracy.

A seventh man, Richard Tarell Chester, 19, was arrested and charged with first-degree sexual assault, the police said. The eighth, Carlos D. Vasquez, was being sought Wednesday on charges of assault with intent to commit sexual assault and conspiracy.

1st of 8 men charged in gang rape of minor gets 12 years

A Rhode Island man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for his involvement in the 2019 gang rape of an incapacitated 16-year-old girl, Attorney General Peter F. Neronha announced Thursday.

Carlos Chacon, 20, pleaded no contest to one count of sexual assault, one count of conspiracy to commit sexual assault and one count of possession of child , Neronha said in a press release.
