Richard Simmons preached exercise, diet and most of all kindness. He positively impacted thousands and thousands of lives. I’m one of the hundreds and hundreds of TV people who basked in his energy and readily accepted those crazy hugs. Rest well.

What a sweet soul. And what a legacy -- to be remembered because he was so kind. You can't top that, imo.

I'm so shocked, and this makes me so very sad :( Too young. I always loved his positive energy and his compassion for people who struggled with their health/fitness. Bless him.

My father’s doctor used to tell us that people worry about dying from heart attacks, stroke, etc, but often don’t think about falls. He said he’s seen so many elderly in his practice die or decline rapidly after a fall.

Gone too soon.:(
