Robin Williams found dead inside his home

I learned of his death through a text from my daughter. Both of us so sad... She said she had heard a sequel to Mrs. Doubtfire was in the works -- that was one she and I enjoyed so much watching together several times in earlier years.

Rest in peace, Robin. Prayers to all who loved him and will miss him. A great talent ... and, I can't help but think, a pretty good person.

I'm still in shock over this news. So sad. We really need to start taking mental health issue's more seriously.We just sweep the topic under the carpet like it doesn't matter. I pray that Robin's death will bring about discussions and take away some of the taboo that surrounds it.

I loved him in so many movies, whether he had me rolling on the floor laughing, or thinking deeply. 'What Dreams May Come' is another gem. I remember watching it with my husband not long before we got married, it brought us both to tears.

So very sad and stunned. I've been crying and numb ever since my husband told me, hours ago. I grew up watching him, like so many others.

Please, anyone who is struggling with depression, talk to someone. For any loved ones of a depressive person, listen, watch for signs, understand, and watch for triggers.

This is truly heartbreaking. Robin, I pray that you found some peace, and thank you for sharing your talents with us.

Sometimes it's like the more talented a person --- the more inner torment. Just an observation.
A long time ago in HS there was a biography about Mozart I found interesting. Forgot the title now, sorry, but he seemed to be greatly gifted and greatly troubled at the same time. But he created beautiful musical pieces.
Robin Williams was a wonderful actor and managed to entertain us without letting his life's difficulties overwhelm him. I am sorry he felt he had to choose this path,but will not judge him.
I hope he has found peace.

He was Christopher Reeves roommate in college. He helped pay all of Chris medical bills and helped Dana, Chris wife.

Im crying, this is so sad.

Oh, now I remember this!! Christopher Reeve was my favorite actor in the 80's. He and Dana and Will had enormous expenses and he had always said he would never marry- so probably didn't save a lot of his earnings. I remember what a support system Robin was for him, Dana and their son, Will.
Crying again for both of these men whom we loved.

Lord forgive me if I sound cold because I am just trying to make sense of the insensible..
What you say is so true in that some of the most inspired people have also been the most personally tormented. IF there was some way to get the emotional balance ( to eliminate a possible chemical imbalance we refer to as Bi-Polar Depression), then the treatment would also take away the essence, the spirited-ness which caused them to be considered genius talents. What a cruel double edged sword. He should have beat this. When comedians like Robin find the world too much with them, and choose to leave it, what does that say about the world?

He was the last act.
The entire room was blown away!
