On October 4, 1954. a distraught man telephoned The Tennessean paper, explaining he was going to jump off the bridge, and he had wanted to speak to a reporter to explain why. One reporter called police, whilst John Seigenthaler went to the bridge, where he talked for over half an hour with the man, perched on a pipe beside the bridge, as the gentleman stood up, Seigenthaler grabbed him, the police officers grabbed Seigenthaler, and pulled both men so safety. Mr Seigenthaler went on to a storied career in journalism, and in 2014, the City of Nashville named the bridge after the courageous writer.
On September 11, legendary rocker Jon Bon Jovi was filming his new music video at one end of the bridge. A crew member alerted him to a lady who’d climbed the railing, balanced on the edge. Another crew member called police as Bon Jovi approached the lady, introduced himself, you can see she gives a small wave to him. After he speaks to her for a time, the crew member and Bon Jovi lift the woman back to safety, embrace her, and lead her to the responding officers. The Nashville Police Department released the video and story, to praise Bon Jovi (who hadn’t told anyone) and those who got involved to help.
“So take my hand, we’ll make it, I swear.”

and I read JBJ did not want this story getting out either
both him and his crew member are heroes IMO
