It’s my first time posting a thread, so sorry for any mistake I could make. I’m Italian and there’s a lot of coverage about this case in the Italian media, but I couldn’t find anything here on WS.

Wow - that's just awful. Will be interesting to find out what caused all this.

This story has been head line news in Italy for almost 2 weeks. Here’s what we know.
- Francis (or Charles Francis) Kaufmann, a 46-year-old American arrested under the alias “Rexal Ford” is connected to a double murder
- The suspect was arrested on June 13, 2025, on the Greek island of Skiathos.
- He is accused of murdering his alleged wife/partner and infant daughter in Rome’s Villa Pamphili, after presenting himself as a film producer scouting locations.
- Italian investigators managed to identify the woman thanks to information obtained during a visit to Malta, where she and Kaufmann had been before arriving in Italy, sources said.
- The Rome prosecutors office said the FBI and the Maltese authorities cooperated in identifying the woman.

How incredibly strange as it seems they were both travelling under fake names and were possibly staying at a homeless shelter in Rome (tent fabric traced back to there as well as location data).

The saddest bit is that it sounds like they are implying that the woman was killed first and the baby several days later, left in the same park but not together. He could have had several days to contemplate how to leave that baby in a safe place to be found. But he didn’t.

Lots of info here, mostly about his (largely fictional) film career.

Interesting quote, "Adding fuel to the media frenzy in Italy, Kaufmann’s sister PK described her brother as “a monster,” “psychopath” and “manipulator” in an interview with Italian daily newspaper La Repubblica on Monday."

There's also info that Frances was given money to stay away from his family in the US because of his behavior.

Thank you for posting the article. It seems well-researched.

And just wow. Just so many crazy aspects to the story alongside the awful murders.
