I guess someone has to ask the obvious question here....if they have a witness to this incident...why isn't Ronald back in jail and Misty sitting beside him? Were they charged with a crime about a dead rat? Were they arrested? The answer is so obvious. No. I would have to say there is either no basis for the complaint or it wasn't Ronald and Misty.

As discussed...the sheriff's department would forward info. to the federal authorities for possible prosecution. The door of our mailbox was once torn off, and the local deputy asked if I wanted him to do this, I choose not to, as there was no witness to tell who had damaged the box. In this case, there IS a witness available.

No article I have read has mentioned Misty at all.

In this case, there IS a witness available.

Anything to do with the mailbox is a Federal Crime and dealt with by Federal Prosecutors. We will see if they decide to prosecute or they agree to combine the charges with the assault and burglary charges. Thankfully there is an independent witness who appears willing to risk going forward against Ronald Cummings. Wonder if behavior like this is why Crystal may have thought the call about HaLeigh was a prank? Although I do not view witness intimidation and animal abuse as a prank. It is a crime.

I didn't read the article, but I was reading about how Misty probably helped and other things being said about her. It is ridiculous, imo!

If the story is accurate, then I wonder if the driver of the truck was on the side of the mailbox, it would seem so. If the passenger side was the side next to the mailbox when the headless rat was delivered, then maybe Misty helped in the "threat".

I'm a big fan of mobster history and documentaries. Loved Godfather and the Sopranos as well as read a lot of factual stories on mobsters lives. Usually a headless rat is left as a warning to keep your mouth shut or you could suffer the same fate as the rat. It can also be interpreted as a threat for bringing in LE.

The way the cast of characters act.... It would not surprise me if the rat committed harry/carry to blame it on someone. This is a small town....I am in shock and awe everyday with this case. This all would be hilarious by the actions of these immature adults if not for the seriousness of all of this, poor Haleigh.

I keep praying for all the children in this community...please do not grow up like the adults. (not all of them) I know there are good people here...

They are waiting for TC to file charges and he should especially since someone saw Ronald! The police also stated they will not be commenting on the case so we won't hear anything from them:

Deputies contacted Cummings, but the sheriff's office would not discuss the case. Lt. Johnny Greenwood did issue this statement on Wednesday:
"This incident is not related to the investigation of missing five year-old Haleigh Cummings; therefore, we will not be participating in interviews or providing statements regarding this incident. Our only objective is, and always has been, finding Haleigh Cummings and returning her home to her family."

IMO...It is actions such as these that makes me wonder if this is why Haleigh is missing in the first place and has been my thought since this all began...again JMO

I'm going to take a guess and say it was because the eye witness identified Ronald Cummings and his vehicle. Of course, if the second person was interviewed by the police, I am at a loss as to why that person's name wasn't released, as well. Could it be that, since the passenger wasn't identified as having put something into the mailbox, that person's name is protected? I mean, that person isn't stated as having (ALLEGEDLY) perpetrated an act which could be reasonably perceived as intimidation, not to mention a federal crime by using the mailbox, only Ronald was identified as having done so.
