Ron C. # 11

It's been hashed and rehashed about Ron and losing his job. We won't really ever know the exact (or even all of the) reasons. I imagine that his employer did not feel like keeping a probationary employee around was worth the trouble of the media circus surrounding said employee. They managed to use their own rules to their advantage. Ron really didn't have much recourse as he was still in the probationary period of his employment.

People always say that he didn't "bother calling" his employer. I sincerely doubt that. If he hadn't called his employer, how would he have gotten paychecks or received the donated vacation days from other employees in the early days after Haleigh went missing?

Can any of you say that a new job would be your priority when your baby has gone missing and your every breath is being scrutinized by the media? Seriously...I think there are a lot of unreasonable expectations stated about BOTH parents in this case. I honestly believe that both Ron and Crystal have done their best given their realm of experience, their environment, their upbringing, and their individual abilities. I don't know what I would do if my baby was missing. I can guess, though...and it would more likely resemble being horribly depressed and afraid and less likely that I would focus on some of the issues so many here expect RC and CS to do.

MY OPINION

BBM. Perhaps you're right about Ronald's top priority not being a job at that point. But what about Crystal? She is still expected to keep up her payments, at least for Butterbean, is she not, or am I missing some information where the court let Crystal off the hook for payment because she's too upset, as well as ill? Does anyone have a link to Crystal being given a break in support because her baby is missing and the media is scrutinizing her every move?

My opinion only

The thing is the expenses do not stop, JR still needs to be housed, clothed, and fed. If RC is doing his part by working odd jobs, or using past child support money to do this I do not see a problem with it. Crystals obligation still remains and how she meets that obligation is up to her.

This "issue" is being discussed on the Crystal thread...there you will find links about the action taken in Court to stop the Contempt proceedings, the documents she was served with re the contempt proceedings, and details re the fact a donor paid off her back child support for her. It seems she was given a Huge break...with over $12k given to her to pay off the debt she owed, and the contempt proceedings (where she was facing possible jail) were stopped within a couple of weeks of Haleigh going missing (months before the donor paid the money for her).

I hate to assume, I was actually wondering if there are any records of payment or lack of payment available.

Perhaps you could direct me to a post of mine wherein I make any mention of Crystal not making payments after Haleigh went missing. I don't recall ever having said or implied such a thing.

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply you did. I was simply agreeing it's difficult for a parent, ANY parent to consider work as top priority with a missing child. I was just wondering if Crystal was the only one expected to supply support since Ron is not working, and having the added responsibility to feed and clothe a new wife who doesn't work either.

My opinion only.

Apology accepted. I do think that both parents are in situations that would make it difficult to get on with "business as usual". I do so hope that TES brings Haleigh home SOON!!

Link please?? Are you saying that if he'd shown up the day he was scheduled to go back they would have let him work? Because from what I heard, they weren't going to let him work....they even called LE in.

In any event, months ago the mods closed this topic off....I'm not sure if we are allowed to re-open the topic, and I'm more confused as to how the repeat posts on this topic are helping find Haleigh.

Look a little ways up thread. Debs posted a part of PDM's statement and the link. I don't think they would have expected him to go back to work the next day and it is possible that some of his coworkers did donate a few days vacation. But the main problem was, according to PDM, he did not request family leave, and he did not communicate with them in that entire 8 weeks. So they had no choice but to fill his position and terminate him. I doubt that he has a case against them, they do have excellent attorneys who are well prepared in situations like this.
As to your last statement... no, it doesn't help find Haleigh. Neither does most of the other stuff that's argued about daily.

Tx...that is PDM's version of events. As you know, Ron's lawyer proferred up a very different version of events. You can believe whichever one you want. Personally, I don't care who is telling the truth...I think what PDM did was disgusting no matter how it came about.

This is MO It is court ordered childsupport no matter the temporary circumstances in the custodial parents home and it should have no bearing on the other parents responsibility. I am sure you have never needed child support payments nor struggled to stay afloat when the support payment never came . It saddens me that many cheepen Haliegh and Jr. in value and not deserving of what both parents could of provide.

The video I saw showed RC, MG and TN, I didn't see Crystal in it.

eta - thanks TG

Were both sides of the family there together? If so that would be wonderful. It would be nice if they could present a united front, regardless of what they may be thinking or muttering under their breath about the other.

Here are some pictures from Ron at the HaLeigh's Closet event today. Also one of Teresa. They are screenshots from the First Coast News video. I did not see Crystal at all on the video - only Marie, Ron and Teresa. Otherwise I would have gotten pictures of Crystal also to put in her thread.

And Teresa since she's been missed.

My mistake, it was MG, Ron and Teresa. Very sad. I have a little granddaughter who will be six in October and a little grandson who will be six in November. I can't imagine if one of them disappeared. Very tragic.
