I don't know that you understand what a TRO is...it is merely a temporary protection measure which lasts until the Hearing can be held. I never said I didn't like the way your law worked in relation to TROs....it basically works the same way as it does where I live and I think for the most part, it is fairly effective. It ensures a person is granted protection until such time as the merits of their case can be decided.

Bunny, I am quite familiar with what a temporary restraining order is, how to get one, and what happens at the hearing. A TRO or RO often does not ensure anyone protection, so perhaps you are not as aware as you state what the outcome and effectiveness of protective orders are.....many women are dead today with that little piece of paper sitting in their home.

Yes, and some criminals are set free, and some innocent are convicted. Sociopaths can lie convincingly. Cross examination is not a fool proof test of veracity. Many LE officers review a witness statement, which is in writing quite often as they investigate cases. Judges and attorney's review statements and trial transcripts in writing quite often and form opinions on witnesses.

Where I come from, and I suspect it is the same there, at a trial, unless both the prosecution and defendant agree, testimony must be given orally and parties are allowed to cross examine. You never know if a witness will be a "good" witness or not, until they are in the witness box. A statement merely gives you an idea of what they are likely to say in the witness box and you can form only limited "opinions" about a witness based on a written statement.

I never raised any issue re the TRO. I think the topic started while I was still sleeping!

Yes, that TRO was what prompted the discussion for the second TRO, actually.
After Ronald filed for custody on 9/16/05, she filed a TRO and an emergency pick-up order on 9/22/05. Her pick-up order was denied, and she dropped the TRO.

Not trying to stir anything up, I know Ron has a lot on his record, but for some reason I missed this one and I did not know that Crystal had a restraining order on him. I would like to know why and what cause the judge to grant her one?
I was looking for something else and came across the transcripts for JVM and read that Ron was pulled over on a routine traffic stop. And the police officer noticed some suspicion, brought in a drug dog, and he had all these drugs in his car, on his possession.

Now, also in the report it tells us -- we had known he had this violation -- an injunction. But now we know that he was not to possess firearms. He was not to come within 100 feet of Crystal, who was the petitioner at the time in the injunction.

This is not Misty's thread...but if the mod will move it...my answer is: I may not find her credible in this situation, but a Judge reading her statement found it enough to issue the order.

You do understand that the term "suspect" has legal consequence once it's used in an official capacity by LE, don't you?
LE hardly ever call anyone a suspect anymore until there is an actual arrest to avoid any legal complications. This is why the term "person (or people) of interest" is used now rather than "suspect."

Yes, I know what that means and I also know that they have not listed either Ron or Crystal as " persons of interest" either . It is Misty they don't believe is being completely truthful about the evenings events and ITS GETTING POINTLESS to hope for the parent bashing to stop because until we find out for sure what happened, there will still be people he77 bent on their theory .imo
