I posted he supplemented his pay stubs with affidavits signed by his aunt. He pumped up his income. The courts accept affidavits of making money. They accept it as truth....doesn't mean it is.

I have never heard of a court accepting an affidavit as proof of income and I have worked in the court system for a long time. They want pay stubs. They also have been known to take a look at the previous year's income tax return (and they can then divide said income by 12 to see if that income is comparable to what is being reported as the present income). I have never heard of an "affidavit" being acceptable. That is not "proof" of income.

Do you have any type of link or proof to back that claim up? TIA.

Whisperer,

When you are in Court and child support is an issue, you have to fill out a financial affidavit. This is done so the Court knows how much money you are making, and how much money you are spending. And you are correct, a person CAN put down anything.

HOWEVER, a person must attach a certain number of paystubs to VERIFY the income in which he is claiming since child support is calculated off said claimed income.

SO, no, it is quite doubtful that Ron lied to the Court about his income. He would have had to provide paystubs to verify what he put on his financial affidavit.

My best friend is going through a divorce now and her soon to be ex was supposed to bring in 6 months of pay stubs so they could calculate support. So no, they just don't take someone's word about it.

ETA to add he thought he could get away with not doing it so they went by last year's tax returns and he made much more money that year than this and they gave her CS in the amount he made last year. Since the oil patch in also in a recession and he's not making as much he screwed himself because he thought they would just take him at his word. They didn't

Plus, why would he lie anyway. He wasn't the one having to pay support, Crystal was and hers was based on the lowest calculation anyway because she didn't have a job.

He brought in signed affidavits from his "aunt" to supplement what the pay stubs said. I have seen enough phony affidavits with people claiming they make a certain amount of money, I could paper a wall.

jmo, whisperer, but it really isn't worth arguing about. (and fwiw, I didn't have to provide ANY proof of income in my Putnam County, FL child support/custody agreement. Maybe I just had a stupid attorney and an ignorant judge, IDK.)

You are right LF. The attorney asks for the proof, JUST IN CASE, a judge ask him for it. The attorney draws up the amount and goes to the judge to approve it. If the attorney does not have proof, he would be admonished by the judge. This was a custody hearing and as I recall RC made $10.00 an hr at Superior Construction. He claimed an income of about $2,000 net. Either he was including SS for Haleigh or he was supplementing with his alledged "tree service" work with his aunt.

There were some here who kept stating he worked two jobs. They got that from somewhere, and I am not going to look it up now but I believe he handed over paperwork from his aunt for his extra income...but am going from memory.

....I am done and I don't care about this anymore. RC is opportunist and likes to blow his own horn even if he doesn't know how to play the instrument....imo.

Let me just throw this in here. When I divorced my husband we both had attorneys, I did not have to provide any numbers for verification of income. He did not either, by using an attorney we agreed on an amount. In every state it varies, and every courtroom it varies also. JMO

I guess you did LOL

Doesn't matter anyway Crystal's support was calculated the lowest that one can pay since she didn't have a job.

Ya think? Maybe I need to go back and ask for more $$$.

Who was Ron's judge and atty again? thx

Regarding child support, usually if the two parties are in essential agreement on support as part of the divorce, then the court doesn't get into it--just as if there is agreement on splitting marital assets, the divorce doesn't wind up in front of a domestic relations judge who divides everything up.

If there is a formal hearing about support, the income of both parties is verified as support is usually based on some sort of formula. In PA it is based on net income. But if it goes in front of a judge, everything is verified by pay stubs, income tax returns, etc.

Are we talking about child support? If so then... why would he want to "pump up
his income"
That would make him receive less from Crystal.
Is that what you’re thinking?

He was 23....he claimed his salary was well over $2000/monthly. The State of FL uses a scale to determine what a parent pays in chlid support. It has nothing to do with what people make. It's in the link.

The claim of such a salary was not to determine how much child support he would receive, but that HE would be the one to receive it, since he had the income. With just a signed statement from his AUNT (the tree service lady) as proof.

I should go into the tree service business. Apparently it's good money. Wonder why he didn't keep that job.

I'm not sure if anyone noticed this or not! I apologize if this was posted already. :blowkiss:

I still can't believe this. Of all the shows to go on to bring attention to Haleigh, he picks Maury. Seriously? He only covers things like, "I need to find out which one of these 8 men is my baby's daddy." Oh, I'm sorry, he also does shows on cheaters caught in the act, can you tell if this is a man or a woman, family secrets, etc. Pure garbage. What is wrong with him? What is wrong with these people?

Maury has been a proponent of children's causes in the past, and as much as I'm sure I'll take criticism for saying this - a good deal of his baby daddy drama shows are based on the pretense that it's all for the good of the children. I can kind of see this as a good fit for his show, and I hope Maury has the sensitivity and decency to bring this in at the right angle.

Maybe Maury is the only one who has invited him? Considering all the drama surrounding this case lately, seems like a good fit to me. Like some have said... occasionally he does do shows on missing children... IDK, because I haven't watched him in years.

Makes sense to me, Trenton's case isn't the only one Maury has had on his show. Good for Ron.

I did some quick research into the Maury show to see if he does missing children shows:

14 March 2006
Season 8, Episode 1: Kidnapped: Still Missing

December 28, 06 - This was a show that covered Trenton Duckett
This link talks about it:

I didn't go back any further... I could have, but I found my answer.

Sure is a nice limo he got to ride in.
