The money isn't given for the appearance. It's given for the rights to use the photos, like those watermarked photos of Haleigh TN brought NG.

This is a very well known get-around for not paying for appearances, and allows people to deceive without actually lying.

Most shows pay for the rights to show videos and pictures. IIRC, in the Anthony case Roy was paid $20,000 for a picture of the snake.

Some recent photos of Haleigh that have been seen on Nancy's Show have Ron's mother's name across the photo.

Yes, exactly. Sorry, Patty. I didn't see this 'til I had already posted.

I set my DVR so I can catch the show.

Thursday 10/8 - Joey Greco, host of cheaters brings videos of unfaithful people. Gloria Allred stories of predatores and their victims.

Friday - 10/9 - Paternity Tests

Monday - 10/12 - Maury addresses sensitive and private topics

Tuesday - 10/13 - Same as Monday

Wednesday - 10/14 - Same as Monday

Patty G, i just wanted to thank you for taping all this for those of us who who have the cable tv! We appreciate it greatly :blowkiss:

But I thought he was getting a divorce because everyone was looking at them. Oh wait......I guess I took that in the literal sense. I wonder now if he meant that in the legal sense.

I am not disingenuous enough to make a statement that Ronald isn't making any money off this. It is quite apparent that he has decided to go the Anthony route.

The more I see going on in this case, the more it strikes me there may be a tie somewhere between Caylee and Haleigh. I don't know what it is yet, but my hinky meter is on red.

Only my opinion

I started a topic about that last week iirc Trident

BBM

I have ALWAYS suspected this from the beginning... that it was originally an idea to cash in by imitating the Anthony's and the plan went way wrong and no one involved in setting it up knew how to reverse it, or stop it or call it off. because they werent expecting this kind of scrutiny.

some case just catch the public eye and some just as deserving dont, and there is no way to predict which will be which...

but the timing on Halieghs disappearance and the extremely odd circumstances which set this up as a high public scrutiny and interest case (IMO) linked it to the Anthony's. I think someone thought to copy cat the childs disappearance and make money off of it. And so far, seem to be doing quite well with it, in spite of declarations to the contrary.

I dont think we will get luck a second time and doubt the body will never be found. but those who intended to benefit from this will continue to do so, indeed, already have done. I am not naming specific names but for all intents and purposes, in spite of declarations otherwise, and other than losing the child, at least two someones have benefitted from this.

Back in the early 90's Maury didn't pay his guests to come on there, they just had transportation, hotel, airfare, food paid for.
I've not seen his show in a near decade so i'm not sure what they do nowadays.

It may be that Ron is trying to start anew, maybe this whole case is helping him "grow up" and become more of a man. I don't mean this in any negative way.
There was a lot of talk about him being hot headed in the past, well people change.
His initial reaction and cussing at Misty is explainable since he was displaying his hurt and fear through his anger about Haleigh being missing.

For those people who keep mentioning that "why isn't Ron out searching for Haleigh" and the like statements, here:

"Cummings, 25, said law enforcement officers don't want him to join search groups or go looking for his daughter on his own. But he has to help somehow, which is why he intends to keep giving interviews, such as the one last week in offices of Mowrey Shoemaker Beardsley in St. Augustine."
http://staugustine.com/stories/092009/news_092009_040.shtml

"He said he's not going to respond every time someone suggests that he or his wife had something to do with HaLeigh's disappearance. But he has vowed to keep the little girl's name and picture in the public eye.
"All this stuff that's said about me on TV ... I don't try to counteract with it," Cummings said. "I'm not trying to get back on there and throw punches back at someone that threw punches with us.
"Rather than do that, we'd rather sit back and just allow HaLeigh's face to be ran across the TV over and over. If they have to rake me across the coals every day, all day, to put my daughter's face on national TV every day, then that's great."

Ron has proved that on NG show that he is not trying to throw punches back at those who threw them first, metaphorically speaking.

He's saying they'd rather not talk bad against those who have done that about them. Also that if the media has to talk bad about Ron, he says at least it's brining attention to Haleigh, which is true. This is why the story has stayed in the news so long. The media sells the drama going on with the families, while it is drama, it still brings attention to little Haleigh. Everyone knows they're her family, so it seems in a way any type of attention negative or positive, will bring attention to little Haleigh's case..

If Ronald would stop doing bad things, like marrying teenagers, divorcing them, getting into fights, getting arrested, getting tattoos, public displays of affection to someone who he was about to announce publicly that he's divorcing......well, okay. Keep Haleigh out there, Ronald!

(ps....I hardly ever hear him mention her. I did catch that hurried "gotta catch my limo-Haleigh you WILL be found" video....Thanks for that Ronald. I'm sure that helped.)

I just don't think this is a planned crime to look like Caylee's. If so, immense evil would be needed because the parents or caretakers would have to be involved and to know what they had done. I admit its very co incidental, but I think Haleigh is deceased and I can't imagine Misty going along for the ride and enjoying this situation.

All three of these people love the attention. RC does not like sharing the spotlight. Misty is getting the attention she always craved. TN is a drama queen and runs the show, IMO.

Did RC really say he has to catch a limo.....OMG! This has gone to his head.

Strange how for about six months....no RC or Misty on TV. No talking to LE. Stonewalling was being done. Now, that the media wants them on TV, RC and TN have decided to split up the duo and get twice the money. It is a shame for Misty if she doesn't have any photos or videos. But he will have to share the money received from the "Today Show" wedding video.

I get the impression RC wanted to file so his monies coming in would NOT have to be shared. He strikes me as very selfish. But did he actually file? I don't know that yet..anyone?

Interesting that Teresa Neves "watermarked" her photos. She must have done some reading or talking with the Anthonys.

What else are they going to report on? There aren't any other cases in the public eye right now are there? At least not any that have so much appeal to the mass media's emotions. JMO

Ya know Whisperer, that is a good point! Ron may be thinking of monies he has/or will make off of the back..uh...I mean.. ummm 'licensing fees' of HaLeighs photos and videos. :( He doesn't strike me as the type that would like to share, or play well with others,:snooty:.. if you know what I mean....

That being said, I'm just not convinced that Ron and Misty's *divorce* isn't part of their plan in some way. They sure don't seem angry with each other, at least not in the way that I would expect. Something is just vedy..vedy hinky imvho. I do believe if one of them talks the other will go down with them and they both know it. They are tied together for life in that respect. :smiliescale:

All of the above is My Opinion Only.....

How is getting tattoos a bad thing? I have tattoos, does that make me a bad person?
Also i don't think a public display of affection to someone he's divorcing would make a difference.
If nothing ever happened to Haleigh, we'd never of heard of Ron and no one would have bat an eye at all the things he's done.
I see it as more reasons for people to judge him by, when they should be judging him on facts, such as what was reported that he refuses to meet with LE anymore. Now refusing to meet with LE anymore after his daughter goes missing is suspicious.
Do you have a link for that catch a limo video? I would like to see that.
TIA..

I cant stand to look at Ronald's smirking smirk face any longer, so I think I may decide to just read about the various news here without watching it for a while... or at least until he gets arrested the next time, for.. -- whatever.

Meow, my dear, I think getting tattoos is a bad thing too. I realize that good, naive people get tattoos, but the fact is that when I see someone with tattoos down their neck, up their leg, etc. I automatically think thats not the kind of people I want to associate with. Now, I know you will say I am wrong, and thats ok. I think the age and area a person lives in determines their outlook on tattoos. Around here, people that fight pit bulls,
stay in criminal court are generally the ones who have them. When I saw Ron's tattoos, I said uh huh, thats what I thought, hes pretty darn ignorant and has no ability to discern anything. But, its just my opinion and I'm an old lady.

The water bothers me-

Casey Anthony as vile as she is, she at least put the child where she could be found, with toys, books, stuff familiar to the child, she didn't dump her in a lake where a gator could get her and there would be no evidence- CAsey took that chance, Ron may have not, and if thats so, if a parent or anyone close to that child can put her in the water, my blood runs cold, and I almost switch from accidental death to homicide- Ron seems obsessed with Misty, how far would he go to keep her around, and teach her a lesson for ever leaving him for a weekend- I hate that the mind goes there, but placing your child in the water really upsets me- IF, thats what happened- who knows, maybe she is somewhere under a rose-

Are you forgetting that Ron was at work that night and LE have verified it?
He has been cleared because he was at work. If anyone put Haleigh in the river it wasn't Ron. He might not have been the perfect father/person and might have been into his share of trouble throughout the years but I don't believe for a second that he would have done anything to hurt Haleigh. His grief is real and so are his tears. I've been there myself and all I have to do is look in Ron's eyes and see the grief there and you can't fake that.

He is divorcing Misty. Maybe by marrying her he thought she would tell him what she knows if anything that she isn't telling. That didn't work but I believe as time has gone by and polys have failed he has really started to doubt everything she has said. I think that is why he is divorcing Misty. I didn't believe his reasoning when he was on Nancy Grace but then why should his reasons for getting the divorce be any of the business of the world.
That should be Ron's business....not ours. If they were just divorcing because they are stared at or talked about everywhere they go but might get together again later...they would just seperate for awhile and not divorce.
A divorce is final. I think that Ron wanted to believe Misty but after failing so many polys a person would be bound to start to doubt.

I know Rons lawyer said the LE cannot clear him unless they were with him all night- to me that says- there is not a camera at PDM that accounts for his every movement from that night, and that concerns me-

GRACE: Do you believe that law enforcement has officially cleared your client, Ronald Cummings, of anything to do with her disappearance?

SHOEMAKER: Well, it`s kind of a tough situation to say they`ve officially cleared him 100 percent. When we met with law enforcement last week, they basically said they moved him from, you know, top of the list to the bottom of the list.

GRACE: Got it.

SHOEMAKER: Unless they were with him all night long, they can`t officially rule him out.
