Well, without a body there is always going to be hope- PCSO cannot say, we think shes dead, they wouldnt do that to the families, right now there is hope, statistics and the events surrounding her the night she was last seen raises doubt, but without proof, thats all they can say is that they hope she is alive- We all hope for that-

Personally, I don't really believe they think she is alive..But thats just my opinion...

'That morning, Ronald was in a hurry. Santos tells me Ronald later explained he was speeding because he was upset Haleigh was missing. “No, Ronald, this was before Haleigh went missing,” Santos reminded. Then he says Cummings said she’d spilled something on her blouse and he needed to get a change of clothes. Santos says Ronald’s tinted windows prevented him from seeing Haleigh or Misty, who claims she walked Haleigh into school before returning home to crash for a couple of hours.'

In reading and listening to this neighbor and fellow parent's account of the morning of Feb. 9, I noticed several things.

Jerry recounts how Ron later attempts to at first explain the incident (re his reckless near mowing down of the group of parents and kids gathered at busstop that am) as the result of distress and anguish over not knowing where his missing daughter was. It's only when JS points out that Haleigh wasn't yet missing that Ron furnishes an alternate reason--Haleigh having an accident and needing a change of clothes. It is concerning Ron felt it necessary to explain away the incident to begin w, or to think Haleigh's accident could have provoked such anger. But surely that morning which was the last day--indeed one of the final moments--Ronald ever spent w his daughter, he would have some recollection of whether Haleigh was, or was not, in the car w him?

Why fabricate such an excuse. I know some quickly discredited JS' account, or dismiss based upon AH's covering the story. But the source is JS and once again, I am apt to pay attention when it's coming straight from an eyewitness' own mouth.

'Like the famous Japanese movie, Rashoman, where more than a dozen eye witness accounts of the same crime differ, the Haleigh Cummings case has been plagued by so many witnesses with faulty memories, conflicting accounts, and downright deception, it’s been a nightmare for investigators who quickly ruled out stranger abduction to focus on those close to the family, then zeroed in on the last person to report Haleigh alive—Misty, the 17year old babysitter Ronald married a month after his daughter vanished.'

It is sad to imagine this last morning of Haleigh w her father. :( And despite protests to the contrary, from the witnesses' account it doesn't sound to me as if Haleigh's last few hours w Misty later when picked up from the bus stop were any too reassuring or went much more smoothly. It haunts me to think of what may possibly have been Haleigh's last few hours. :frown: JMHO

One of the things I recall that TM said about working with the Cummings Family is that it was NOT a good experience. That is head was spinning for trying to get facts. This is most likely an understatement...IMO

.............that sure tells me something about the Cummings family. He also felt similar about Casey.

............I can only thing of one person that knows him and likes him and that is Player.

So Ron is now being investigated by DCF over what Tim Miller saw, that being Ronald putting an assault riffle in his mouth in front of Junior, I wonder if the therapist that Jr is seeing now will be questioned by DCF, does anyone know?

  • #626
I don't think LE would venture to talk to the therapist.

IMO, I doubt a therapist would approach the subject of a gun in RC's mouth to JR either. If Jr brings it up, then it would be so. Jr spends/spent almost all of his time with the Cummings family...can't imagine what the little guy has seen or been told..

I would think the counselor is there to observe and listen to JR concern's, if any and to assess where he is at emotionally and intellectually. They could acheive this throught different play therapys but to bring up the subject of a stressful event to the child would be remote.

Kiki, no one has EVER asked RC about the shirt that was stained either.

....Why doesn't RC get hard questions? I notice other parents of missing children can answer questions and talk about case but not RC. I also notice they don't need attorneys to speak either.

If MC and he drove all the way to Welatka to get a special outfit and then she spills something on it and he has to take her home to change....WTH?

None of RC's stories make sense to me. Where the heck is he, anyway? JVM and NG have offered him to speak out on their show, seems a little shy about that right now.

Hi Wrangler! Good thoughts. If I knew how to post a picture I would post some for you from the early weeks of this case. Ronald Cummings actually was extremely active in the foot searches and the horseback searches that were conducted for Haleigh. I have links to pictures of him on horseback and and there is even an interview discussing the instance when PCSO called off the ground searches and Ronald begged them to please continue.

To my knowledge he wasn't extremely active in any foot searches.. Al he was interested in was getting on a horse... IIRC he even stated something about when I am on a horse it makes me feel like I am really searching for Haleigh..When TM took the toys away, he went to the tent..JMO

Emeralgem Your reply below...sorry I don't know how I messed up the quote

In any event people see what they want to see and believe what they want to believe right? I followed this case from the very beginning as perhaps you have. It is not safe to assume that everyone perceives situations the same. Take Geraldo and Nancy Grace for example. They both represented very different stances, wouldn't you say?

I clearly remember numerous interviews after the searching was halted where Ronald Cummings was still begging people to come out and search with him. Regardless if he was on a 4 wheeler or a horse, or on foot, Ronald Cummings took a proactive stance in the search for his missing daughter. There were various pictures on local news sites of Ronald speaking with investigators and he was actually seen passing a note to one of the detectives. There were also reports of him inside of a police car having conversations with investigators. Only Law Enforcement could tell us how desperate or in your view lackadaisical Ronald was in the search effort for Haleigh. JMO

Ronald hasn't quit pleading for Haleighs return. If you view last nights actionjax news clip with Matt Saffer, there's more videos available to the right top part of the screen to view and learn about the investigation. A new one I hadn't seen where Ron was filmed by Matt at his home pleading for Haleigh. So there are new videos available and if you haven't looked of late, you might have missed some available.

here at this link, Ronald focues on Haleigh despite Divorce, here you will see him plead, a new video not mentioned here in Haleigh's forum. Little new tidbits also from Matt in the two videos available.

I remember seeing that one as he jogs away to catch his limo ride to the airport. That's not new. Oh, and in the 4:56 he was on Maury, he never once mentioned Haleigh by name.

I have a question for all of those that believe that Ronald Cummings is involved in his daughters disappearance. It is about the punching of the door incident when Ronald came home from work and discovered that Haleigh was gone.

If all his protesting was done for a show....or in hopes that the dispatcher was recording and all his statements would be frozen in time on a audiotape of the call, who exactly was Ronald showing off for when he punched the door, hard enough to cut and draw blood on several knuckles and require the placement of bandages over the wound? Seems a pretty extreme length to go to when no-one is looking at him, no camera rolling to catch the assault on the door, no-one to perform in front of. In my opinion the punching of the door was an act of desperation and extreme anger and frustration with his situation. He was alone in the trailer with Misty and why cause his own body harm if he was simply trying to "act" like a angry frustrated father? Actually following through and drawing blood and removing the skin from his knuckles was part of the act?

Chris Coleman who is accused of killing his family had marks on his hands, cops questioned him when he was in the back of the ambulance, he didnt say much, cops leave him alone, he starts hitting the ambulance, his dad shows up and asks about his hands and Coleman says, I got so mad I hit the ambulance- so Ron could have been covering up some sort of wound under the guise of hitting the door.

Prove to me that he hit that door when he got home and not many hours before in a fit of rage. He could have been asked about his knuckles, or the dent in the door and decided to make up a story.

Maybe he went to slug Misty and she ducked and hit the door. Just because Ronald says it happened when he arrived home doesn't make it true. I am in fact not inclined to believe him based on his other self serving answers to questions.

explanation appreciated. However, Ronald too was questioned about his wounds and police addressed the bloody knuckles in a press conference(IIRC) and we found out later that the wound was swabbed by Law Enforcement.

I was more or less questioning those who thought Ronald was a gifted actor and put on the performance of a lifetime on the night his daughter was abducted. Your theory that punching the door to cover up an earlier injury makes sense though. Thank you for responding.

Do we know what was under that bandage on his neck? I always wondered if someone grabbed his neck and left a gauge. Maybe him and Misty were fighting.

Thank you debs, I don't recall you being one of the posters that believed Ronald's protesting was done for "show". I appreciate your answer though.
